Dominik "hex0r" Buhmann (born March 21, 1991) is a retired German player who last played for IVY. He is also a regular video creator on his YouTube channel, covering competitive Dota 2, educational content, and more casual content.
Biography
[edit]HexOr was born in Munich and played Warcraft III Reign of Chaos in his childhood years later picking up the custom game, DotA. The first hero he played ever was Silencer and used his ultimate Global Silence in an offline single player match, but claimed nothing happened.[1] While playing with friends, Dominik slowly started to improve into the game and decided to venture into competitive DotA.
With the decision of playing competitive, Dominik also began to showcase his DotA videos while playing his favourite hero Pudge and his first YouTube video was released in October 2006 using the Fraps software to record his gameplay. He joined B123 and later joined diamondZ e.V and later met Black^ when hexOr began to become known within the Dota scene.
After publishing a number of Pudge hook compilations, he made a video called "Luck is No Excuse" in August 2009 dedicating a Dota video for his team, Diamondz e.V [2]
With joining diamondZ, Dominik cited was the best German team produced [3] and participated in numerous competitions such as Farm 4 Fame.[4] He came first place in the EMS National Series, DotaClub Pro Series and was named as the team of the year, with HexOr also claiming an individual award for best carry.[5]
After a stint with diamondZ e.V he later joined Raptor and in September 2010, he joined The Retry. Dominik later revealed that PGG asked him to join the team despite the lineup was composed of Russians and one Ukrainian, he later joined after having a successful trial and had fun with the team using ventrilo.[6] After a shuffle in the squad, he later joined Magical Gaming in January 2011.[7]
Following his stint in Dota 1, the announcement of the first International saw him transition to Dota 2. He later joined numerous teams such as Avengers, aX and won a Dota 2 1v1 German tournament.[8] Since Luck is no Excuse, he has also provided compilations "Art of Juking" and "Pro/Team Tributes".
