[edit]Trivia
[edit]- In DotA, Mirana's full name is Mirana Nightshade. The surname was possibly dropped to avoid copyright issues with "Blizzard Entertainment", since the Nightshades are a collectible ingredient within the "Warcraft" universe.
- Mirana is the tiger of the Multan Fort that killed the king of Mongols (in the Mongol folklore).[1]
- Her mount's name is Sagan. Her response toward Invoker ▶️ "Carl meet Sagan." is a pun on Carl Sagan.
- She appears to be wearing the Circlet item, which fits the item lore as being "designed for human princesses".
- Warcraft 3 similarities:
- Mirana's hero concept is originally based on and inspired by the Priestesses of the Moon, a Night Elf ranged hero.
- In DotA, Mirana's hero title is Priestess of the Moon as well, her title was changed to Princess of the Moon in Dota 2.
- This is likely to avoid copyright issues with "Blizzard Entertainment", since the Priestesses of the Moon are an existing elite within the Night Elf race in the "Warcraft" universe.
- However, Some of Mirana's responses were not changed, and still refer to her as the ▶️▶️ "priestess".
- Starstorm is inspired by, and based on the Priestess of the Moon's Starfall.
- In DotA, Starstorm was named Starfall as well. The reason for the name change in Dota 2 is unknown.
- Sacred Arrow is named "Elune's Arrow" in DotA. Elune is the moon goddess in the Warcraft universe.
- During early beta, the ability was simply named ""Arrow" before it was changed to Sacred Arrow.
- Mirana has a 1/12 chance to spawn in with the name "Jumong", a reference to a koreanovela of the same name, Jumong.
- Mirana's name may have been taken from the Warden, which have a 1/14 chance to spawn in as Mirana Starlight.
- Mirana's hero concept is originally based on and inspired by the Priestesses of the Moon, a Night Elf ranged hero.
