The EU LCS 2016 Spring Split was the seventh split of the European League of Legends Championship Series, organized by Riot Games. The season took place from January 14 to April 17, 2016, with the regular season hosted in Berlin, Germany, and the Playoffs held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Ten teams competed in a Double Round Robin Best-of-One format, followed by a Single Elimination Best-of-Five Playoff. The top six teams advanced to the Playoffs, while the bottom three were sent to the Summer Promotion Tournament. The split featured a €100,000 EUR prize pool, and the winner earned qualification for the 2016 Mid-Season Invitational.

Ahead of the season, several major changes occurred. Gambit Gaming sold their spot to Team Vitality. Promoted squads G2 Esports (formerly Gamers2) and Splyce (acquired the spot of Team Dignitas EU) joined the league, replacing SK Gaming and Copenhagen Wolves. Fnatic and Origen entered the split with rebuilt rosters following strong 2015 campaigns, while H2k-Gaming and Unicorns of Love returned with revamped lineups.
