Chronology
Evolution Championship Series 2019 (EVO 2019) was the 2019 edition of the Evolution tournament series, the largest fighting game tournament series in the world, and seen as the world championships of fighting games. Held in Las Vegas, Nevada from August 2-4, 2019, this was the first of two EVO events to feature Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
To date, it is the most attended Super Smash Bros. tournament ever, with 3,534 registered competitiors. It was also considered the most prestigious Ultimate tournament until Kagaribi#13 in 2025.
Alongside Ultimate, the main lineup for EVO 2019 consisted of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Tekken 7, Samurai Shodown, Mortal Kombat 11, Soulcalibur 6, UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late[st], and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle.
