About

[edit]

eOSL Summer 2011 was a 16-player tournament that was organized and broadcast by eGG-one.com. Commentating was provided by KroK and aspeak. Unlike eOSL Winter 2010, this event was entirely offline at a studio in Paris, allowing eGG-one to interview players in between games.

Controversy

[edit]

The third quarterfinal match, (Stephano versus Origine), generated controversies. Origine was granted two wins by default because Stephano was two hours late, and origine converted this advantage into a 3-1 victory. For his part, Stephano claimed that he was late because he fainted on a train. Some, including Millenium's manager, criticized the decision to award two wins, saying that it would have been better if Stephano were simply eliminated out of the tournament, instead of having to begin a Bo3 at 0-2. eGG-one later released a statement explaining the rationale for their decision [1].
