Feels like the climax of this season/arc. Nazuna vs Anko is more than just as simple fight. Anko also plays mind games in that fight by touting her own intelligence.

Anko also turns out to be one of the most complex character in this series with her purpose and motivations. Deep down though, Nazuna didn't want to kill her. What a cliffhanger though with Kou damn...

So Anko cooked up this galaxy-brain scheme that was already hanging by a thread, but the fact that Ko, a literal fourteen year old, dismantled it without breaking a sweat? Yikes. That’s the sort of humiliation you don’t bounce back from. Imagine being read like an open book by a kid who hasn’t even finished high school lol. And yeah, Nazuna.. sure, she wasn’t out to really hurt Anko, but watching her get played like that still felt like secondhand embarrassment all over again xD

The clash of emotions between Anko and Nazuna was nailed perfectly btw. That’s just this show’s great direction once again. This almost makes you see Anko in a different light… almost. But let’s be real, her whole plan was basically a house of cards stacked on “ifs” and wishful thinking. No wonder she snapped when Ko casually tore it all apart. She literally gave up as well:(

Really, you can see her attempt to finish it all in the end from a distance.. and so does Ko trying to stop it too, but yeah, leaving at a cliffhanger where DUDE HIMSELF GOT SHOT is pure criminal.

Yea you know shit’s about to be crazy when they have a suicide trigger at the start of the episode and the hotline at the end.

“I wanted it to be you” is such a fitting title for this episode as it has multiple meanings in relation to Nazuna and Anko. Anko wanted it to be Nazuna to kill her and finally free her from the years of suffering she’s endured as well as the impossible task she took on of eliminating vampires, but it also refers to the doomed Yuri relationship between them and Anko never getting the relationship she wanted with Nazuna.

I appreciate how Nazuna’s conflicting emotions were portrayed as well. She wanted to stop anko and protect Kou, but at the same time, even with Kou life on the line she couldn’t bring herself to kill her first love which shows you how much she really cared for Anko. Just such an unfortunate set of circumstances that prevented them from being together.

After their intense battle, that “you know, you never did give me anything I wanted” hits so hard because their romantic relationship fell thru and even in the end, she was denied the poetic death she wanted by the woman she loved. Anko’s whole life has been full of so much pain and disappointment, I just wanna give her the biggest hug ever. She’s been handling all of this alone for so many years now and wears the tough detective facade, but deep down she’s still that little girl who used to come to the club room with Nazuna everyday. That’s why we see her regress to a childlike laughter when Nazuna gets serious during her attacks and ofc why she goes to read there before attempting to kill herself.

Speaking of which, I know I said replace Kou with lesbian romance in this, but he was the MVP today. Instantly put 2 and 2 together about Anko not being a bad person, found out where she and Nazuna were and rushed into stop her from shooting herself there, but took a bullet himself. I wonder how this’ll go, will Nazuna rush in and overreact, will this accelerate his transformation or what.. next episode will be really good.

I was half expecting this to end with Anko killing herself, idk the whole episode felt super anticlimactic the last few seconds were pretty expected until she dam shot Kou like holy hell that threw me tf off.

Logically either Kou becomes a vampire here or gets unbelievably lucky and lives. Cause I refuse to believe he just dies

PLEASE, FOR GOD'S SAKE, MAKE THIS A BIT LONGER. WHY DOES IT FEEL SO SHORT COMPARED TO ALL THE OTHER SEASONAL ANIME? I DON’T UNDERSTAND. Oh my god. I know the manga is already finished, but I really hope this anime never ends.

I don’t know who the author is or how he came up with this masterpiece, but I truly hope this anime or his manga gets some kind of award. This gem is so underrated. The opening, the plot, the visuals, the endings, everything about it is just perfect. Goodness gracious.

Honestly, there ain't much to say about this episode other than that it was a masterpiece. But at this point, I really, really hope Ko is okay, because if he’s not, I’m afraid Nazuna might snap and kill Kyoko, and I really don’t want her to die. I absolutely adore her.

For characters of Nazuna and Yamori's archetype, going against a past acquaintance as an opponent is pretty tough in a frustratingly predictable way, you just know they will fold when it comes to killing the enemy because of some sort of emotional attachment and moral obligation, its the kind of trope that generifies a story, genuinely interested in seeing how they'll try and move the story forward from here. Can that be considered an occidental shooting from the detective? Maybe, the fact is the gun fired in her hands and more importantly Nazuna was not in the picture, I can see her losing her marbles.

Damn. Nazuna vs Anko was good. I kinda wish it was longer. But sometimes things are better when they're shorter. I just wish the light filter thing wasn't so strong. It was too distracting...

Ah. So Anko/Kyoko's plan was to die and to take all vampires with her. She was incredibly depressed so I'm a bit surprised she somehow managed to live so long without killing herself. But her plan to eradicate all vampires was doomed from the start. If people found out vampires or any other kind of supernatural oddities were real they wouldn’t stop going outside at night unless it was enforced by the government or something. If anything there'd be a huge wave of would-be vampire hunters trying to find vampires so they can turn into one or for other reasons. Some vampires who were in hiding before could just say fuck it and reveal themselves to become instant celebrities. It'd be chaos. In other words, things would probably get way worse than they were before. I don't think Kyoko thought her plan through and admitted it probably wouldn’t work cause she just didn’t give a shit about killing all vampires as much as she wanted to die by Nazuna's hands. The ragebait almost worked. Also, she has a smartphone? Ig the show takes place in the early 2010s then.

Kyoko accidentally shot Ko. She must feel very guilty now. Good thing they know a nurse who could probably save his life. I hope Kyoko and Nazuna become friends again. But I'm gonna miss the villain Kyoko ngl.

So hey, remember when the girls first met Kou-kun and made their ultimatum about killing him if he doesn't turn after a year? Yeah, that's pretty much all for show. While vampires could go all out when they fight each other, like when Nazuna and Seri fought back in Season 1, they all talk when it all comes to actually killing humans. Sure, there might be some unique cases, but in general, these vampires are surprisingly human.

A vampire and a human fight in the school's sports field? Where have I seen this before? It's funny how Anko and Nazuna's fight is the complete opposite of the Kizumonogatari fight. The human is surprisingly winning and kicking the vampire's ass. I think at this point, tho we've all realized what Anko is trying to do, especially when she was going ham with her monologues and is actually looking like the villain when she was dangling that lit cigarette right above Nazuna's eye.

And there it is. We finally learn what Anko's true plan is. She's not just doing this to commit suicide by vampire, she's also doing this hoping her death and whatever trail she left behind for the police to find will expose and prove the existence of vampires. She's also hoping that by doing this, people will become afraid of the night, and this will result in vampires starving.

What's sad about Anko's entire plan is that she knows it's stupid and there's no way people's fear of the night would last for more than multiple years. It might cause some panic, but you can't keep people out of the night. But Anko takes comfort that maybe the quiet night she's hoping for would actually happen. Now that her plan has been stopped, there's only one thing for her to do. Unfortunately for Anko, Kou-kun still wants to save her and he ends up getting shot instead. Yeahhhhh... Things are not looking good for Kou right now...

Wow !! This episode blew me away !
The animation for the fight between Nazuna vs Anko was outstanding and so unique with all those flashes of light really made it seem so cool.
So Anko came to the conclusion that she could never get rid of vampires completely from Earth but she can at least bring them to light through her death by a vampire and make people avoid roaming during night.. also knowing very well that it wouldn't probably be enough to make them starve and kill them all; she still decided to go with her plan and getting killed by Nazuna would be far better than any other vampire.
Nazuna didn't want to take a life even when Yamori life was in danger shows how human she is.
And that last scene, after knowing that her plan failed she was still hesitant to take her own life..we can see her fear. I know Yamori's gonna be ok but that was so heroic of Yamori to try and stop Anko from committing suicide. I hope Anko to stay alive as well.

Nazuna vs Anko was awesome, but I still can't help but think pain is on the way...

It wouldn't be completely right to say Anko is carrying the show, but she kind of is, with Miyuki Sawashiro's voice acting, to the mind games she plays, to the pain she feels in her heart, she is by far the character with the most depth. Excellent direction during the fight scene, with the light filters and all. Some might call it distracting but it's very consistent with how the series has been directed thus far. Watching this, it really does make you feel for what could have been with Nazuna and Anko's friendship, because as I see it, I don't think Anko will survive to the end of the season, but maybe the show will prove me wrong.

What a ride. Lots of emotional moments, characterization and interesting questions.

Anko's plan was a long-shot, but I can accept that it was the best she could come up with, especially as a regular human working alone.

It's easy to understand her intense loneliness and exhaustion. Her voice sounds so, so tired. Living only for revenge, for years, all by herself, against an overwhelmingly powerful force that's almost impossible to find and no one believes exist... And the one friend she had is one of them.

Her strange, almost goofy behavior last episode now makes a lot of sense, as she was just letting it loose before meeting her death (which may or may not be worth it).

Also, an interesting angle that the vampires don't really know how to handle this and are scared. It explains their immediate reaction to just kill the detective.

And it was surprising and sad to see Nazuna choking back tears as she apologized to Kou in the aftermath. Not sure if she cried before this episode, but this moment hit hard. It would've been easier to take if she just cried out loud.

This season continues to amaze, what an incredible episode. We had both intense heart-pumping action and powerful emotional scenes.

Nazuna couldn't bring herself to kill her Senpai which is understandable, but more surprising was the reveal that Anko wanted to get killed all along so her death would prove the existence of vampires. We've already seen how far they'll go to stop that from happening.

Also ending on yet another insane cliffhanger... hope my boy Kou is alright after being shot. Maybe he needs some treatment from nurse mommy Kabura.

Awesome episode, it turns out that Anko wanted to die but to die while recording a video of her own death by vampires so the whole world would learn their existence, she was ready to do anything to get rid of vampires, she's turning absolutely crazy and that ending isn't fixing things at all, wow... while trying to shoot herself she ended up shooting Kou right in the chest, damn. What a cliffhanger..

Honestly, Kyoko has no legitimate reason to hurt Nazuna, Ko or any of their friends; yes she had something terrible happen to her as a kid because of a vampire but that shouldn’t have turned her into a raging psychopath who wants to kill Nazuna just for the species she was born as (that’s called racism Kyoko)

First big fight of the series is finished. The whole reason why Anko’s plans were doomed are directly tied to why the Vampire Council’s threats against Ko have no fangs (pun intended). On the most practical level, humans are both good source and potential family vessels for vampires so killing them or terrorizing them is counterproductive to vampires own survival instincts. While most vampires in this series instinctively know this (which Anko was trying to counter-act) some vampires don’t care if humans find out the conspiracy and act more destructively

Great ep

While the fight with Anko and Nazuna was lit, tho sum of the direction was terrible and all those lights/ or effects were NOT helping in the slightest.

This fight was truly brains vs brawn.

Anko really wanted to be the sacrifice but Ko wanted to be clutch twice in one ep. Gotta be a record.

Damn, bro dead lol.

This ep adapted ch 87-91.

Of all the times for Ko and Nazuna to split up, it happens when a gun is involved. I've got crackpot theory is that Ko already became a vampire when he and Nazuna kissed in the beginning of the season and he'll find out now that he's been shot. Fully expect to be wrong but I had to say it before next episode.

This episode, from start to finish, was overflowing with tension. Anko and Nazuna's battle was hectic at first, albeit VERY one-sided at first before Nazuna's switch got flipped and turned the whole fight around with how chaotic she fought to get the better of Anko. It was a good thing that Ko was able to get to where the girls were fighting just in time and stop it.

It was here that we get to fully understand Anko's true goal. While she has killed vampires already, she did accept that killing all of them would be impossible. That's why her plan to have herself be killed off by a vampire while having video evidence of it to prove that vampires exist to the public would be enough to get the empty, peaceful nights that she yearns for. As for Nazuna, I do feel really bad for her, seeing how much she was tormented by Anko, then finding out that Anko really wanted to be killed off by her. That's the one thing she outright refuses to do, so seeing her this emotionally upset does sadden me. =(

Unfortunately, things have now gone even further south. Anko was moments away from taking her own life, but Ko arrived to try and put a stop to that, only for the gun to go off, hitting him in the process. Talk about a brutal cliffhanger to end the episode on. If Nazuna arrives to see what happened here and put 1 + 1 together, then I can only imagine the next episode to be even more tense than this one.

What an episode, oh my god.

I knew something was up when there was a suicide warning at the start of the episode. I was expecting Anko to kill herself at the end of the episode but damn, I wasn't expecting Ko to get shot though. The fight was really really good and it perfectly expressed both Anko and Nazuna's expressions. I never really liked Anko when she first appeared but until her backstory came, I've been starting to really like her now. The next episode is going to be so good, I already know it.

What an episode—packed with action and emotional clashes. Anko radiates an incredible aura. Even though her intention wasn’t to kill the vampires directly, I’m still impressed by how, as a mere human, she was able to dodge and practically defeat Nazuna in combat. Of course, Nazuna couldn’t bring herself to kill Anko because of everything they’ve been through together, which makes sense.

On the other hand, I can’t help but see a flaw in Anko’s plan. If people didn’t stop partying even during a pandemic, I seriously doubt they’d stay inside just because vampires exist. Honestly, I think even more people would go out.

I think we should think less of ankos plan as wanting to kill vampires, but more of a suicide plan. Especially like, how some ppl already mentioned, that it is not really a solid plan. And for somebody as intelligent as Anko that is not fitting at all. She JUST wanted to die and maybe MAYBE take them down with her. Like anko and ko-kun say the plan was never rly realistically going to work. She just wanted her friend to end her misery. i think it is a brilliant way to portray suicidal intentions and the conflict surroubnding that theme.

Well there ended up being a fight after all, but not quite like how the OP showed it. And after Anko’s plan was revealed, I’m thinking the way the fight played out in the OP is how Anko wanted it, she wanted Nazuna to go full evil vampire on her and kill her, but it didn’t go the way she wanted as we saw here. But damn it was a fun fight tho, for as mentally tortured Anko is, she can really thoroughly finesse a vampire lol, of course part of it was because Nazuna didn’t want to kill Anko but still. And what a wild plan Anko had too, to reveal that vampire’s exist with her death and make people afraid to go outside at night, slowly killing all vampires, thus ending the night and making it quiet again, wow that is both metal af and fitting for the show, but from the sound of it not even Anko believed that it would work, but she went for it anyway, probably because she wants to die anyway, cool plan but sad at the same time.

But the final moments of the episode man, it’s sad such a cool babe like Anko wants to take her own life but thankfully Kou realized she would do that and stopped her, only to get shot himself, I’m thinking either that’s not a fatal wound or the only way to save him is to turn him into a vampire. Whatever happens, next episode is gonna have an intense start, this is definitely one of those times the weekly watch hurts lol, you lucky bastards in the future don’t gotta wait.

mmmkay! it turned out mostly like i thought it would, except for that ending... i figured SOMETHING would happen to our boy... but that? mhm definitely a surprise.

i'm still worried about the philandering dude the daffy detective blackmailed in ep9. does she have an 'accomplice' now, even if the dude is unwilling? is he in the background somewhere at that school filming everything? is the detective bugged to record audio? maybe a button cam on her clothes for extra video? how far ahead did she plan? she said she experimented on a vamp she captured and wasted her adolescence on that. so how much did she learn other than what we already know from S1 and these 10 eps in S2? how much did she document and preserve somehow in the case of her death?

her 'official' office is empty, but what about her 'secret lair'? everybody with paranoid personality types that go too far end up building or finding a lair. preppers. anti-government types. cultists etc.

but is her suiciddd by vamp plan part of a total downward spiral into despair and feeling useless and powerless that all her plans and schemes might wind up being for naught? did she really have enough motivation and will to create 'a nuclear option' that will blow up everybody's lives in the cast either physically or socially or some other way?

Well ladies and gentlemen, we are at the juncture point of this show and I believe we only have 2 episode of calm night with vampire baddies.

Speaking of calm THIS episode was anything but! I cant believe Nanakusa was holding back but only to a certain extent.

It does make me wonder if the shows tempture will escate or die down? Considering its a supposted to be like a calm slice of life with vampires, it would probably be the latter. That being said, there wasnt much left to the imagination when I guessed about the whole trap thing last week.

Anyway, I guessed most of the thing correctly last week. But I would have never thought THE thing being set up was that complex. Then again I would probably not know whats going to happen from now on. Due to the mystery fact being brought by the detective. OF course, the episode left us hanging. SO I CANT WAIT what the next part will turn out.

Rating time,

Plot: 10/10

Theme: 10/10

not really

Character: 10/10

I think they wrote them splendedly, I was actaully sitting at the edge of my seat the way they had me sucked into the show. It felt like I was in their with them

Ost: 10/10
Adrenaline is pumping and I think it feels pretty great to have something matching that, specially when it comes from a calm type of show

Overall: 10/10
I had fun? weird to that in this show, but it was exciting to the characters at each others throat and then break down at some part of the show.
