Great concept but poorly executed
I am using Dibby Create as we speak. The concept of having everything in one place is noble. However, the execution for anyone simply wanting to focus on writing a book and not navigating a website, is poor. They need to appoint a team that focuses purely on making it more of a user friendly experience.
Also, I found KIP to be amazing…when KIP actually followed a command. Maybe the single most infuriating thing about the platform. I used an Ai engine to help me produce an entire music album within 12hrs. I have been waiting almost an hour for KIP to proof read a single page of my manuscript. This cannot be Ai.
I worked for them years ago
I worked for them years ago. They are rebranding from the "Urban Writers" to "Dibbly." They have a famously bad reputation in freelance writer and editor circles.
They pay poverty rates for blue-moon work. You'd make more money stocking shelves at Dollar General than working here, and in half or one-third the time. I guarantee it.
Editors are treated like trash. They are expected to "fix," meaning "rewrite," barely fluent English by writers living in countries where their poverty rates aren't cripplingly, devastatingly poor. Think $175-$230 to edit a 60,000 word "book" written by someone who barely speaks English, let alone can write well. Being paid pennies for full-time labor. Don't forget the high fee to be paid via Paypal.
They had an option to report a writer's work as being extra poor quality, and be given a small fee as compensation (around $20, no matter how many words), but if you took that option, the writer would be crying in your messages, and staff would retaliate against you and refuse to accept your bids for future projects.
The woman who interviewed/onboarded me lied how there were several people making good money working full time on the platform. What she failed to delineate, and what I failed to discern, was that those people DO exist, but none of them are on the freelancer side. She, and other direct hires in supervisory roles, were getting paid. But none of the freelancers were. On one side, you have the glossy facade of writing retreats and diverse office culture and invigoratingly (coerced, performative) active Slack participation. On the other, there were poor, desperate, maybe delusional writers and editors thinking if they suffered just a bit more they'd get a foot in the industry. She looked me in the eye and lied to me to assuage by concerns and convince me to sign up for what she knew to be an exploitative scam. Sadly, I'm sure she sleeps easy with that fact to this day.
Writer, Editor, listen. There is no gap in the door to get your foot in. There is no door at all. There was never any work. Their shiny proprietary platform was always empty except for a handful of projects on permanent waiting status. And, once again, if you refused to rewrite garbage, barely-fluent English books with phenomenal speed and without complaint, if there was an open project, your bid would be rejected.
This was all before AI. To be honest, AI writes better than the overwhelming majority of writers on the platform. Shame on the woman who created this mill, who has no problem exploiting people in poor nations as well as poor people in her own country.
Do NOT apply to this company. You are better off stocking shelves.
If you pay this company for work and don't like what you get, good. You deserve it for supporting exploitation. Write your own book, or pay your ghostwriter and editors wages that won't get your soul a first-class trip to hell.

Many talented writers
Many talented writers, and editors who are committed to excellence and willing to go the extra mile. Create makes collaborating with freelancers in real-time hassle-free too. The Create and Create Pro program used by Dibbly really gives writers access to wonderful tools that speeds up the entire process of creating awesome books. Overall, a great and legitimate platform. Highly recommended.

An Ideal Platform for Writers
Honestly, I was so against Dibbly Create when it first launched. But it’s come a long way since then. Now, I find the system much easier to use than Google Docs - which was my go to before that.
I don’t get much time for personal projects, but I go to Create when I do. The chapter sections make managing the whole project much easier. I love that I can drag paragraphs around without the clunky cutting and pasting. It’s a smooth transition to Word. There’s so much to love.
I actually have a rolling yearly subscription because I get an incredible amount of value for the cost.
I would not revert back to Google Docs. I am a writer and editor on the platform, and I enjoy working in Create for both of those roles.
Also, for non-fiction, I think KIP does a great job supporting writers. I am obsessed with the fact checker tool. It’s probably my most used function.

A fantastic collaborative tool
Dibbly Create is a fantastic tool for collaborative working between clients, ghostwriters, and editors. All comments and suggestions are made directly in the document, making it easy to keep track of who's suggesting what changes, any responses, and approvals - no cross-checking between emails and the document, and no version control headaches :) Added functionality like the fact checker also provide a great starting point for a whole range of quality control checks, right within the Create document itself.
I've always found the customer support teams to be super responsive and helpful, always friendly and finding a solution to any hiccups as swiftly as possible. Highly recommended!

Consistent Growth and Exceptional Support
I have been with Dibbly for just over three years as a writer, and during that time I have consistently observed the company’s commitment to continuous improvement whether through platform enhancements, staying current within the evolving AI landscape, or providing strong support to both customers and freelancers. Like any organization, there is always room for growth; however, Dibbly is intentional in acknowledging this, actively seeking feedback, and moving forward with thoughtful progress.
The tools provided on the platform are current, practical, and enable me to perform my work more efficiently, whether I am outlining projects, conducting research, or developing content. Additionally, the customer support I’ve received has always been exceptional—responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful.

Start your ghostwriting career at Dibbly
I have been freelancing at Dibbly for several years on a full-time basis. New projects do come in regularly, however, occasionally this does experience a dip. Freelancers are given plenty of support tools to build their brands on the platform, as well as opportunities for training and qualifying for niche genres.

Horrible experience
Horrible experience. Useless ghostwriter. Poor communication.
Their ghostwriting skills were so bad, I had to rewrite most of it myself. The support team is also useless. What the ghostwriter communicates and what the support team communicates are two completely different messages.
