I'm still super stressed about the whole situation (my dog had TPLO surgery) but I'm glad I was able to speak with WhiskerDocs on a Saturday when my vet's office was closed.

Extremely helpful resource in a crisis

This resource is extremely helpful in providing the veterinary information necessary to help the pet owner make an informed decision in a moment of crisis. Should you monitor the pet for abnormal signs?If so, what are those signs? Should you take the pet into the vet right away? In my case, our puppy ate a calcium tablet containing xylitol, an ingredient that's toxic, even fatal, to dogs. The veterinary technician checked how much xylitol was in the calcium tablet and calculated at what weight the xylitol could become fatal. She noted that our puppy was just below that threshold. She stated there was no antidote for xylitol, so if a dog becomes ill, the only treatment is supportive treatment. She identified what signs the puppy could exhibit if he had consumed a toxic dose. Upon completion of our conversation, she emailed to me a summary of my issue and her detailed advice. Great to have a written version, because sometimes in a scary situation, one forgets elements of a conversation.

Thoughtful and Thorough

I use WhiskerDocs as a benefit of insuring with PetsBest. I have used this help line via chat twice now and both times Whisker Docs has made the recommendation to seek emergency/urgent vet attention and both times they caught two different potentially life threatening issues for my dogs. I cannot recommend Whisker Docs enough for their attention to detail and kindness, especially with the follow up after the chat. Piece of mind
