Issues fixed
Configuration tool does not save settings
- The Steam version's configuration tool does not save settings properly, and the Dreamcast Collection version's configuration tool does not write a new configuration file if one is missing without re-installing the game.
|
Steam version: Add key through Registry Editor[8]
|
- Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
- Check if you have a folder named
SEGA on it. If you don't, right click on Uninstall, click New, then Key and name it SEGA.
- Right-click
SEGA, click New, then Key and name it Crazy Taxi.
- Right-click the newly created
Crazy Taxi and click New, then String Value, and name it Crazy Taxi.
- Double-click the
Crazy Taxi string and change the value to 1.
|
|
Dreamcast Collection version: create the configuration file manually[8]
|
- Check if you have a series of folders from
%USERPROFILE%\Documents that goes up to SEGA\Dreamcast Collection\Crazy Taxi. If not, create a new folder in %USERPROFILE%\Documents and name it SEGA.
- Go into the
SEGA, right-click and select New → Folder, and name it Dreamcast Collection.
- Go into the
Dreamcast Collection folder, right-click and select New → Folder, and name it Crazy Taxi.
- Go into the
Crazy Taxi folder, create a new text file and name it config.ini.
- Open the
config.ini file you created with a text editor, and then paste the following into this file:
[Crazy Taxi]
COLOURMODE=1
CONTROL2P_INDEX=1
CONTROL2P_TYPE=3
CONTROL_ACCELERATE=5
CONTROL_BRAKE=4
CONTROL_DESTINATION=2
CONTROL_DOWN=33
CONTROL_DRIVE=1
CONTROL_HORN=3
CONTROL_INDEX=0
CONTROL_LEFT=34
CONTROL_REVERSE=0
CONTROL_RIGHT=35
CONTROL_START=7
CONTROL_TYPE=3
CONTROL_UP=32
DRAW_DISTANCE=1
FULL_SCREEN=0
LANGUAGE=0
RESOLUTION=4
SHADOW=1
- Save the file (File → Save or Ctrl+S) in this location. The Dreamcast Collection version's configuration tool should be able to read and write the configuration files again.

Notes
- ↑ Version 5.70 of StarForce DRM requries KB2930157 to be installed on Windows 8.1 to function properly. This version may also need a manual driver update on Windows 8.1, Windows 10, or Windows 11 to function properly.[1][2] The driver can be updated using the included PCNSL.exe/PROTECT.exe tool.
