Great experiene yesterday

Great experiene yesterday.
I accidently applied to withdraw two amounts from my moneybox isa. I only meant to withdraw one. So i was trying to resolve it, on the app. I found i could e mail a message, within two hours. It said, they couldn't guarantee it would be able to stop both amounts, but they would do their best.
However, i was very happy today, when only one amount came out.
I am very happy with the moneybox app.
The customer service was great!!

MoneyBox cash ISA rate not as advertised.

I looked on MSE for the best ISA rate last week and saw MoneyBox was the top rate at 4.32% AER.

I'd never heard of MoneyBox before.

I downloaded the MoneyBox app and opened the cash ISA account, but the rate on my cash ISA is only 4.27% AER not the advertised rate of 4.32% AER

Great customer service

I've been using Moneybox for over a year and never had any issues until today when I made a mistake with a withdrawal. Ezgi responded much sooner than I had expected and she was straight forward and super helpful. She resolved my problem and kept me up to date during the whole process. It's rare to receive such good customer service these days.

ISA transfer IN whilst processing, recieves no interest..

I have been with Moneybox for about 5 months now.
I mainly used it to transfer my ISA for a higher rate and potential investments.
The App is great and easy to follow. The online chat is mostly driven by AI response and after persisting a number of times with the same chat you get a real person reply.
The only issue I have with Moneybox and their ISA transfers is that once the money has left your existing providers account it can take upto 3 WORKING days for the funds to appear on your account and even then it takes about 1 day for the daily interest to show the correct daily interest.
This results in about 4 days you do not receive interest. If the funds just happen to leave you existing provider account on a Friday (as in my case), then you can expect a delay of about 6 days with no interest (not back dated or any adjustments).
Based on the AI chat response as I had no success in a real person response this is how their process works.
This is not the experience I have had with other providers as they have accrued interest as soon as they receive the funds regardless of how long their system take to process and apply it to my online account.
This is the only reason for a 2 star else it would be 4.

As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, once we receive the money from your current provider, they will be added to your product as a cleared balance within three working days. Interest begins accruing at that point, and your ‘todays interest’, displayed in the Moneybox app or on web, will be updated the next working day.

Terrible – couldn’t access my own ISA funds for weeks

I had a genuinely awful experience with Moneybox when trying to withdraw money from my Cash ISA to pay a house deposit.

Unbeknownst to me, Moneybox had allowed a closed ISA to be set as my “linked account” when I opened the account years earlier. This only came to light when I urgently needed to withdraw £34,000. The withdrawal failed, and from that point on everything became painfully slow and confusing.

Despite the app showing my full balance, I was unable to withdraw my money for nearly three weeks. I spent hours on chats and phone calls, repeatedly going through security and explaining the same convoluted situation to different people. I was given contradictory information, missed response deadlines, and at one point told the issue was “sorted” when it very clearly wasn’t.

Because of the delay, I had to borrow money elsewhere to avoid my house purchase falling through, which was extremely stressful. To make matters worse, Moneybox later confirmed that my funds had been sitting in an internal account and not earning interest the entire time — something that was not clearly explained while it was happening.

They eventually offered £50 as a “gesture of goodwill”, which doesn’t come close to reflecting the disruption, stress, or time wasted, let alone the lost interest on my inaccessible money.

I would strongly caution anyone against relying on Moneybox for time-critical withdrawals. If you need guaranteed access to your own money — especially for something as important as a house purchase — this platform is not fit for purpose.

Ali was extremely kind

Ali was extremely kind, compassionate and helpful. He let me know that I can contact them at anytime for support and took time to reassure me that it was normal to make mistakes 🌸. He also informed me how I can transfer one isa into another which is something I didn't know before.
