TikTok trend gone wrong
I have used Hays Travel website to find contact details to pass on concerns I have regarding advertising from a local branch. However, on the website there is no information on how to do this other than "We use TrustPilot, an online community-based platform, for collecting and sharing reviews from real customers who have been on real holidays. We would love it if you could leave your feedback, positive or negative, telling us about your booking experience." - hence this review.
My local branch uses TikTok for advertising which I do not oppose to, if anything this is great. However, the advert posted recently is insulting towards customers as the staff attempt to create an advert using the "I'm a travel agent, of course I can..." trend. In the video, it mimics customers asking what the weather will be like, what food options there are at the properties, the budget that customers may have and customers asking for quote details to be printed.
The video is incredibly distasteful and could be misconstrued as false adverting given some of the claims in the video. After seeing this video, I will no longer be using Hays Travel for future travel and nor will my immediate family.
