I bought a 2 nights stay in NYC and wasted $600!
I bought a 2 nights stay in NYC through Trivago/Traveluro last year. That weekend it snowed so we requested a credit so we could book later. They issued a credit through traveluro.com. However on that site, there is no place to put in your ecredit. When I called them they said they escalated it. But we have not heard back anything. We spend more than $600 and nothing to show for it. I suggest avoiding them and sticking to other sites like hotels.com
Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service - had to change hotel dates due to issues travelling to Cuba and cancelled holiday but the process was very straight forward
Traveluro, just be patient with them!
ok. this may take a while of explaining but, this company gave me an eCredit which I could not use the conventual way on the site to reserve a new room. Although it took several attempts and almost 6 months of back and forth, mostly on my part, they have honored the credit! The issue is this: you must first secure a reservation, pay for it and then contact customer service with your eCredit and info of new reservation. they will in turn, refund your existing reservation using your eCredit. in the end, it all worked out well for me and I will use this site again since the price point is within my budget!
I traveled from Canada to Dubai in…
I traveled from Canada to Dubai in January 2026. I made my hotel reservation in November 2025 through Traveluro. Upon arrival at the hotel, the staff informed me that there was no booking available under my name, despite the confirmation provided by Traveluro.
I spent nearly three hours calling back and forth trying to resolve the issue, but no solution was provided. When I asked to speak with a manager, the representative first refused to transfer the call and then abruptly hung up on me while I was still speaking.
This was extremely poor and unacceptable customer service. Traveluro never followed up and made no effort to compensate for the inconvenience caused. I will never recommend Traveluro to anyone.
Utter sh#t.

When I clicked on pay it said:
You can cancel your ticket until 2 days before your scheduled arrival day.
When, a few days later –– which was still 9 days before the scheduled arrival –– I wanted to cancel it said:
Non-refundable.
Surfing the web I recognize many people had that experience. Save yourself the pain and don't purchase with them.
Huge snowstorm hit
When a huge snowstorm hit on the night before our hotel stay, we had to cancel. The hotel refused to refund or even provide a future night credit. But the Customer Service reps at Splitty stepped in and just kept hammering the hotel on our behalf. Eventually they reversed their position and refunded out payment. I’m with Splitty for life. Great job.
Booked a trip 3 months in advance
Booked a trip 3 months in advance. Few days before the long anticipated vacation they say hotel is overbooked and canceled us. Turns out hotel never even knew we existed. This is a scam!
My hotel reservation disappeared and they resolved it.
I have a reservation for Sitges this summer with my whole family. The price was so low that I started to suspect it was a scam. After reading the reviews after booking, I panicked and called the hotel, where they told me the reservation didn't exist. I almost had a heart attack! I wrote to customer service and they resolved the issue. They responded quickly, sometimes the same day, sometimes within a week, but they always got the problem solved. The hotel now has the reservation correctly. I hope I won't have to change my opinion this summer, but as of today, the problem was resolved properly.
Many thanks to Anne from customer service for her great work and help
Super helpful
I asked for a change to my booking as I’d booked the incorrect dates and even though there was an ‘non cancellation’ policy in place Ayra was super helpful getting my dates changed. Which theoretically they didn’t have to do. Great service and very helpful. Thanks again Ayra
Be extremely careful with this site
Be extremely careful with this site, especially if you need to modify a booking.
I booked multiple rooms with a clearly stated “free cancellation until Jan 25”.
Before the deadline, I requested to cancel just one room (out of four) for the same dates.
Traveluro informed me that partial cancellation is not possible.
Instead, they require canceling the entire booking and rebooking at the current prices.
Because hotel prices had increased since my original booking, removing one room would result in almost no refund, despite being within the free cancellation period.
In practice, this means the “free cancellation” policy is meaningless if you need any modification.
You are effectively forced to accept higher prices or keep an unnecessary reservation.
This may be their system limitation, but it is extremely misleading and unfair to customers.
I would strongly recommend booking directly with the hotel or using a more flexible platform.
TRUSTPILOT REVIEW
Confirmed Reservation Didn’t Exist, Inferior Substitute Provided, Then 3+ Weeks of Being Ignored
This review details a serious service failure and Traveluro’s subsequent refusal to address the situation.
WHAT HAPPENED:
I booked accommodation at Yavapai Lodge in Grand Canyon Village for December 30, 2025 - January 3, 2026. Traveluro provided full confirmation (Booking #11905964), processed payment, and I had a confirmation number. This was a confirmed, paid reservation.
Upon arrival on December 30, the hotel informed us that no reservation existed in their system. None. Despite having Traveluro’s confirmation, we had no room.
After spending several hours of our first vacation day on the phone with Traveluro customer service, they eventually secured alternative accommodation at Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel. However, this “solution” was materially inferior to what I had confirmed and paid for:
ORIGINAL BOOKING vs. WHAT WE GOT:
• Yavapai Lodge (in Grand Canyon Village) → Grand Canyon Plaza (outside park boundaries)
• Walking distance to Grand Canyon rim → Required driving to access park
• King bed room → Two double beds
• Standard quality room → Room with no exterior windows, visible deferred maintenance
The location change alone was devastating to our plans. We specifically chose Yavapai Lodge because it’s located within Grand Canyon Village with easy access to the rim, visitor centers, and park amenities. The Grand Canyon Plaza is outside the park, requiring us to drive every time we wanted to access the very attractions that were the entire purpose of our trip.
CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE:
On December 31, 2025, I submitted a detailed formal complaint requesting fair compensation for this service failure. I clearly documented the issues and requested a response within 10 business days.
Here is Traveluro’s complete response over 23+ days:
- January 5: Generic acknowledgment saying they’re “reviewing” it
- Then: ABSOLUTE SILENCE
Despite multiple follow-up attempts:
✗ January 3 email - ignored
✗ January 12 urgent email with deadline - ignored
✗ January 21 phone message - ignored
✗ As of January 22 - still no response (23 days and counting)
They acknowledged receiving my complaint (Request #13815186) but have made zero effort to actually address it. No phone call, no email with a resolution proposal, no explanation - nothing. They are simply ignoring a legitimate complaint about a major service failure.
THE CORE PROBLEMS:
1. RESERVATION RELIABILITY: How does a fully confirmed, paid reservation simply not exist in the hotel’s system? Either Traveluro never actually booked it, or their systems are fundamentally broken. Either way, this is a critical failure.
1. INFERIOR SUBSTITUTION: When their booking failed, they provided accommodation that was significantly worse in location, quality, and configuration. This is not equivalent service.
1. ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY: When presented with evidence of their failure, Traveluro completely ignored the complaint for weeks. This suggests either severe operational dysfunction or a deliberate policy of ignoring complaints until customers give up.
QUESTIONS FOR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS:
• If Traveluro can’t ensure confirmed reservations actually exist, what value are they providing?
• If they won’t respond to legitimate service complaints, what recourse do you have when things go wrong?
• Why would you take this risk when you could book directly with hotels or use platforms with actual customer service?
MY ADVICE:
Do not use Traveluro, especially for important trips. The risk is not worth any potential savings. When their systems fail (and based on this experience, they do fail), you will be left stranded with no meaningful support or accountability.
I have been patient and professional through this entire process. I submitted a formal complaint with clear documentation. I followed up multiple times. I waited well beyond my stated deadline. I even called and left a message. All I received in return was silence.
I am now filing a Better Business Bureau complaint and pursuing a credit card chargeback. I strongly encourage others to learn from my experience and choose more reliable booking platforms.
DOCUMENTATION:
Original Booking Confirmation: #11905964
Substitute Booking Confirmation: #188758408
Customer Service Request: #13815186
Dates: December 30, 2025 - Present (ongoing issue)
UPDATE: Will update this review if Traveluro ever responds, but I’m not holding my breath.
Price offered is very competitive and good service
Price offered is very competitive, customer service team is very helping in replying my request, and in times, they have good team!
I have used this company twice
I have used this company twice. the first time I had no issue. Second time, i needed to cancel and received an eCredit for the price of the hotel room. I cannot for the life of me, use this eCredit on their website since there is no place to input the number. I have called 5 times on different days all receiving the same information: someone will either call me back or email me regarding this matter. I received 2 emails with the same information, directing me to enter the eCredit code online.....there is no way to follow the instructions. No one will help by phone as they say it is not their department. As of today, 01/14/2026. I am not able to use the eCredit. I am out of $264.00
Cancelation
They were able to guide me through the cancelation process. Refund was immediate.
E-credit scam
I would never use Trivago to book a hotel room again.
I couldn’t use the hotel I had booked so tried to change it. They give me an Ecredit to use and book via Traveluro. Tried to make a booking on the website but there is nowhere to add a code. So called the number. They take your details and set they will escalate it and will be called back. Called after 2 hours and again same thing. It has been 2 days no call back and now when I ring they do not pick up the phone. Do not use either company.
Booked rooms error
I booked rooms in Portage La Prairie MB for some family to come from Wisconsin to spend the weekend with me.
The email then said, Vermillion AB and I wasn't able to process with a refund nor correct the booking.
My family came and I had no choice but to get different rooms and cancel alot of plans.
This mistake made by algotels, costed me a heavy burden and financial harm which was left me with no money for Christmas. I had to borrow money of the family to make Christmas happen. It was extremely embarrassing and made for a very cloudy holiday.
CROOKS
Stay away from booking with this company. I tried to book twice online and got payment errors both times due to price change, so I ended up booking elsewhere. Come to find out after booking elsewhere Travulero charged me for the original booking attempt. I contacted them immediately which was not easy, explained what had happened and requested they issue refund. They sent me an email acknowledging they were going to request a refund be completed. I’ve reached out by email a few times and crickets. I will never use them again. Refund has not been issued as of this writing. What a scam.
ZERO STARS! Scammers!!!
WARNING! This company is a complete joke with non-existent customer service. I’m out almost $600. I had to reschedule a reservation after an urgent medical issue. They gave me a code for an “eCredit”, supposedly good for a year. Yeah right. Good luck finding anywhere to redeem this credit under payments as they claimed I would be able to. There is NO option for that. Their “24/7” customer support goes to India where nobody can help you. They finally admitted they’re just an “answering service.” After months of calls, emails and complaints, I’ve gotten nowhere. I’ve reported them to the BBB and I will only book directly with hotels from now on!
This company is a scam
This company is a scam. We booked a hotel through them and had to cancel due to an emergency. They claimed to issue a partial refund as an eCredit, but the eCredit is nonexistent and unusable. Their customer service is deceptive, they answer the phone only to say someone will call back, which never happens. No follow-up, no resolution, and no accountability. Avoid this company.
