A REAL SAFETY WATCH GIVING PEACE OF MIND
I am now wearing a watch originally worn by my late wife. The switch to me was easy and the watch gives me peace of mind as I now live alone.
Very satisfied so far
Very satisfied so far, initially it was over sensitive for falls but this has been corrected. Blood pressure is rather higher than that shown when using a cuff but pulse rate is about right. My monthly test call was answered promptly.
Confidence that there will someone there if I need them
Although I've not had to call for help in earnest, my two accidental calls were immediately answered & there was no remonstration about my mistake. I have confidence that there will be someone there should I really need help
Dependable
They respond quickly to any concerns. I am impressed that they noticed i hadn't made any steps at a time I was always up and about. It was just me forgetting to put my watch on.
My mother got the watch two weeks ago
My mother got the watch two weeks ago. Four days ago she had a fall due to a stroke and the watch did not register it. DANGEROUS, life threatening device.

I feel a lot safer knowing I have the watch on. The only time I take it off is to shower or washing.
I am very pleased with my watch
I am very pleased with my watch - I feel more confident when I go out to know there is help at hand when I am out alone. I have mobility issues and had a few falls last year.
No if's, no but's - 5 plus stars.
I’ve had my watch for 6 days now and can justifiably give it and the service YourStride 5 stars, simply because my previous personal alarm watch, which was bought separately from the annual service contract I took out, and the after-sales support service they gave fell far short of expectations. Firstly, they advertised their watch as having a battery life between 2 to 5 days; when in reality the charge didn’t last above 36 to 40 hours and it was only after I had lost patience with the lack of support I initially received when trying to get any action from their after-sales support team by phone and eventually reminded them by email of their obligations within the current Consumer Rights Act and redress I could take to get the money I paid for the watch back and remaining service contract period did they send a replacement and the full battery charge on that watch didn’t last much longer. I note that they currently advertise the watch as having a battery life of between 1 and 2 days and the cost of the watch is absorbed in the service contract. That said, I cannot fault the efficient and professional responses to the monthly tests I carried out and accidental alarms I set off.
My lack of confidence in their after-sales support was confirmed when I decided to cancel my service contract with them, which I discovered wasn’t possible via email. I initially tried phoning them after I had my new watch for just over 24 hours and saw that there was still over 80% charge remaining and selected the correct option from their automated answerphone menu and ended the call after incessant assurances that my call would be answered as soon as an agent became available after 50 minutes. After again waiting for over 40 minutes the following afternoon, I then spoke with a human being and explained my disquiet with the lack of customer support by phone, battery life and exorbitant increase in the annual service contract price, compared with YourStride’s stated annual renewal cost of about half their price. The answers I received were, “We are a premium company and give a premium service - have you ever tried contacting their customer support team?”, “They use exactly the same watch as we do” and, “They will hike the price after your 12 month contract ends and I can offer you a substantial discount if you stay with us”.
As I hadn’t tried contacting the customer service team by phone. I tried on Monday morning at about 09:20, (traditionally the worst time to get anywhere for most companies’ customer support teams after a weekend break – avoid at all costs if you can). As it was, I was speaking with a friendly young man after about 3 minutes, who initially seemed taken aback as to why I was calling and wanted assurance that I wasn’t trying to raise an alarm with the monitoring team. When I explained that I had tested the watch shortly after receiving it and had very quickly spoken with a young lady, (who sounded genuinely happy and sincere in a clear call from our worst spot in the house for mobile phone signals), and was just testing their customer service response time before posting a review, was he happy to end the call.
As for the battery charge, it still showed 12% charge remaining after over 4 days and I only charged it then as I didn’t want it to be flat the morning after - when it could be most likely to be needed and I didn’t want to lose sleep listening to the the periodic loud warning beeps telling me the battery was low!
It is also re-assuring that it is easy to set up a GPS tracker on the watch through my user account, which would give peace of mind for anyone caring for someone who is prone to wander off.
Presently, the only improvements I could suggest from the other company are their watch, (which is definitely not the same as YourStride use), came with a lifetime guarantee, but; even if the watch needed replacing annually, (which I doubt will be the case), it’s still more cost effective in the long run. Also, to lessen the monitoring team answering test calls and freeing them up to respond to emergency situations the other company use a voice activated system to sift out test or mistake alerts before connecting to the monitoring team is made if no answers are given within a few seconds.
All in all, I can genuinely give YourStride 5 stars from my experience to date with my new watch and after-sales experience, compared with my previous provider - 5 stars isn’t enough - but it’s the highest that Trust Pilot will let me use.
Very efficient
It was recommended by a friend and I found the experience of ordering and the advice given to be easy to understand for someone of advanced years and efficiently expedited.
