Review of Orbital Fasteners

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Definitely going straight to them again for my next order.

This is the second time I have used Orbital Fasteners and they’re now my first choice for metal fixings and fasteners. As I DIYer, it was easy to find exactly what I wanted on the website wtb the right amount of information to make my decisions. The prices are excellent, often cheaper than anywhere else, and ordering was straight forward.
I am outside their local delivery area (by quite some distance) but delivery costs were still very reasonable.
Everything arrived very quickly indeed. Definitely going straight to them again for my next order.
A highly recommended and trusted UK business! Many thanks!

Great value and highly reliable

Purchased more than one Steam Key. They were excellent value, being the cheapest available. The site is easy to navigate and purchasing is uncomplicated. Fast and reliable delivery of the keys via an email. I have bought a few from CD Keys now and they have proved highly reliable and trustworthy every time. Many thanks.

Appalling customer service.

Purchased a cheap Steam Key. They sent a key for the wrong thing. I asked for correct Key. Took ages to respond and kept asking for more information and screen shots. Apparently if you contact them it pushes your case to the back of the queue so asking for an update is pointless. Finally after a month they agreed to a refund and told me I had asked for store credit - I hadn’t. When I told them I wanted an actual refund (why would I buy from them again?) they told me I have to pay a fee. Appalling from start to finish and certainly not to be trusted with your money. Pay a couple of quid more and go somewhere else for your bargains. There is plenty of choice out there.

Review of Yodel by InPost

Another awful experience with Yodel

Two weeks ago Yodel delivered a parcel from the Open University, which they say was 'acknowledged' by us. We never received it, and certainly didn't acknowledge anything.
We cannot be sure which day it was 'delivered' because it wasn't actually delivered, however they seemed to imply that they must have delivered it because their sat nav confirmed it was the correct address. I expect what the sat nav actually confirmed was that the van was in the area at the time the parcel was marked as delivered. I'm not sure a sat nav can confirm that a parcel has actually been delivered to the intended recipients, but what do I know, I'm not a courier company and maybe they have special ones.
Excuse my sarcastic tone but I am totally apalled that they have, yet again, failed to provide the service they have been paid for.
They suggested we check with neighbours etc - but they couldn't advise which neighbours the parcel had been delivered to so it was a bit of a waste of time. Then, after consulting the driver, they concluded that they could provide no further information. Really? They had one job...
So we ended up with no delivery and a replacement had to be sent out.
Today, a courier for another company was delivering somewhere on our lane. They found a parcel addressed to us and they kindly brought it round. It was the missing delivery, which had been left outside another house on our lane (likely to be one of the properties that has been unnoccupied since COVID). The parcel has clearly been left exposed to the weather, and also chewed on by the local wildlife.
The last time I had cause to complain to Yodel (see an earlier review) they did absolutely nothing about it, apart from waste my time further. This time I have posted a photo of the item on Twitter. I hope you enjoy it Yodel.

Secretlab OMEGA 2020 - Great Product and Service

Ordered my Secretlab OMEGA 2020 chair to save my back and shoulders. I am tall and require a bigger chair but the measurements, which are clearly stated on the website looked right for me and have proven to be accurate.
The website had notices about delays to shipping so I was prepared to wait a bit, even though it was in stock. So I was pleasantly surprised when the tracking email arrived stating it would arrive just 4 days later.
Sadly it didn't arrive on time due to couriers being awful (see my other reviews).
It was pretty easy to put together carefully following the instructions and it is honestly the most comfortable chair I have used either at home or in the office. The seat height is more than adequate, just perfect. It comes with a cushion for your head and another for your lower back lumbar support.
I got regular emails about the chair and the delivery and other things, and they even sent me a free cleaning kit to make up fo the poor service from the courier.
Overall I am totally satisfied with the product and the service and if I ever need another chair to work in (or nap in) then this is where I'll go first.
Highly recommended! Thanks Secretlab!

Review of Yodel by InPost

Zero stars - appallingly bad in every way.

Yodel were used to deliver a time critical package that I ordered from a well know computer component supplier. I chose next working day delivery but didn't get to choose the courier.
The tracking information was sent with a link to the Yodel tracking site, confirming that my package would be delivered on the next working day (a Monday). On the day of the delivery the tracking still said it was due to be delivered that day, but mysteriously it also indicated that it hadn't left the depot. It remained in this state until 10.00pm, so I had wasted a day waiting for them (it required a signature).
I was not in the next day, but at around 6pm I managed to check the tracking and it said they had tried to deliver but could not access the property - They never told me they would do this. No note or anything had been left, and there no attempted phone call. I rearranged delivery for the following day. Exacty the same thing happend as on the original day - it kept telling me it would be delivered but it had not left the depot. So I phoned them (which was almost impossible but I managed to do it almost by accident). Only half a day wasted this time.
The very helpful person on phone told me that it had never once left the depot, and that no matter what else the tracking says, if it has not left the depot in the morning then it wasn't going to be delivered. So I phoned the supplier with whom I had placed the order, and sent an email to Yodel, complaining about their innacurate tracking and impossible to reach customer service.
The supplier told me that they had been told my lane was inacessible due to hedges not being cut - and that a driver had damaged their van on a previous occassion. This is rubbish and says more about the competence of their driver than the acessibility of my lane.
Yodel were very apologetic and were looking into the matter and were very freindly and reassuring until I said I wanted some sort of recompense. They said (as is legally correct, although morally suspect) that they couldn't provide any compensation, and then proceeded to re-state the overgrown hedges story.
They haven't bothered to respond to my last email.

So if you want tracking that is accurate and reliable, and want a courier you can trust, then ask your suppliers not to use Yodel - I will always do this from now on.
Your supplier is ultimately responsible for your delivery, so it is in their interest to know if a courier is likely to be able to deliver on the contract they have with them.
Yodel don't need to care about what they do and so they don't. It is not the courier that is responsible for late deliveries, so they can get away with such utter disregard for the people who rely on them.

Note: I just checked the tracking and it still says it will be delivered last Wednesday (1 week ago today). Nice one Yodel - very poor.

Review of Bradfords

Perfect

I ordered a bulk bag of sand and some bags of cement and aggregate. This is the first time I have ordered a bulk bag so wasn't sure how easy or difficult it would be.
I was surprised that the time of the delivery was sorted for the next day, and this was sent to me by SMS, with a phone number in case there was an issue.
I was not likely to be available at the time and had to phone to speak to them - and managed to speak to a real person straight away.
I also managed to speak with the actual delivery driver and explained that, due to access, it is slightly complicated where to leave it.
The driver listened to my explanation, and then delivered the sand perfectly in the place I needed it.
So... altogether this was an outstanding service, and I am glad I chose to use Bradford's. Thanks very much folks!

Review of TNT UK

It's the usual story really..

It's the usual story really... I checked the tracking the night before which told me it would be here before 6pm the next day. I waited in all day the next for my delivery, and it didn't arrive. Other things did... but nothing from TNT.
After 6pm I checked the tracking and it kindly informed me that they had tried to deliver and no-one was home, and so they have left a card with instructions.
This was just a plain lie - no attempted delivery AND no card. And no apology.
It's a shame we don't get to choose the courier that companies use, as I certainly wouldn't use TNT.

Superb! The easiest and most satisfying way to spend a small fortune...

For me this was the easiest and least stressful way to buy a car that I have ever used. The website is intuitive, and the data about the different models is accurate making it easy to find what you want, as long as it is in stock.
I contacted customer service by email and by phone, and had a quick, friendly and helpful response from both - and this was both before and after I bought the car.
Buying the car was easy and, whilst they offer finance, I did not feel at any time pressured into taking one of these options - which are clearly explained on the website.
The earliest delivery slot I got was a just over a week after buying. they provide clear instructions on what you need to do before delivery, and the delivery itself was timely, friendly, and carried out safely.
The car was in the condition as advertised (perfect), and I found the whole process of parting with so much money a highly pleasurable experience! Thanks Cinch - I would have absolutely no hesitation in using you again or recommending you to others!

Frustrated and disappointed

We have used these twice and both times they failed to do the job. On the first occasion (in 2015) they sent someone who was ill equipped to do the job, and we incurred additional expense, and considerable lost time as a result. The second time (2017) the plumber couldn't find our house, or a mobile signal and left us hanging around for most of the day. We then had to find someone else, resulting in lost time and additional expense. To be fair the people on the phone were fine, but clearly the company are, in my experience, not worried about using inadequate tradespeople. If they can't solve the simple problem of finding my house then why would I let them loose in my kitchen? If you do choose to use these then have a backup plan. Overall a very frustrating and disappointing experience.

Dear Mr Stanton we are currently looking into this matter. The information we have as to why the appointment booked for the 21st failed is similar as to what you have written.
