Snagit is probably our go-to tool for capturing screens and creating quick, polished visuals for client documentation and training materials. I love how it does a lot more than basic screenshots and has noticeably sped up how I explain processes.
What I liked:
The capture options are excellent, especially scrolling capture and quick video recording with system audio for short walkthroughs.
The built-in editor is surprisingly powerful but still easy to use. I can add callouts, arrows, step numbers, and blur sensitive info without opening another design tool.
It's fast enough to keep up with real-time collaboration. When I'm on a call with clients or developers and need to show them exactly what I mean, Snagit doesn't slow me down.
Templates and presets make creating consistent, branded documentation effortless once you set them up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The new subscription model is a drawback. It used to be a one-time purchase, and I'm not thrilled with the ongoing fee.
If you only take the occasional screenshot, the price feels high compared to free built-in tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
