Incompetent customer service! They gave us wrong information and we could not resolve a dispute. Ended up paying a bill for 850 Euro for a small apartment for 6 month because they threatened us with a layer. Nobody lived there and it should not have been more than 15 Euros a month. I got so sick of it because what they told us on the phone did not match with their letters. I just paid the bill because I couldn't deal with it anymore. After this experience I am canceling my other contracts with EON.

The worst company I have ever seen in Germany. One star is too much for E.ON. Never trust this company. Their customer service cannot speak English at all. When you request to transfer your contract to your husband, or even just add your husband, they do not understand or accept it. Never agree to a price change for your contract by phone — they will automatically extend your contract for two more years, and you cannot cancel it until the new end date. They know they are not a customer-friendly company and only want to force you to stay with them and keep paying, while they do not care about you at all. Never get a contract from E.ON.

we moved here 10 years ago and thought we took out a contract with E.On for electricity on a commercial space. Turns out that while they registered us as business customers, they put us in the grundversorgung and left us there for 10 years. As non native german speakers we did not think anything of it. Turns out we have been wildly over charged the entire time, 10 years now. They even changed the electric meter a couple years ago, no one ever said anything. Convenient! their argument is that they didn't have allowance to contact us for advertising. Wild! i had originally wanted to take a new contract for a second location but now I will be cancelling BOTH and switching to SWM who are TRANSPARENT about their business practices!!

I applied for an electricity contract in July 2025, scheduled to begin in October 2025. E.ON terminated my previous provider’s contract, but as of November 7, 2025—more than a month later—I still have no electricity supply from them.
When I contacted customer service, I was told: “As we are currently adapting our system to new regulatory requirements, it may be slightly delayed when you sign up. We therefore ask for your patience.” But I signed up nearly four months ago. What exactly is the definition of a “slight delay”?
I received no prior communication about this issue. I had to reach out myself to find out why the contract hadn’t started. This lack of transparency and service is extremely frustrating.
