Good overall but let down because of inflexibility

Good piece furniture and generally a good company to buy from. One niggle this time I couldn’t find the shelf support pegs. I contacted customer support and was told replacements would take 3-5 working days to arrive by courier. Not too much of an issue until I asked if they'd just post them through the letterbox. Apparently not possible they need a signature. OK, still not a big deal would they deliver on a nominated day as I'm often not at home. Not possible Apparently (don't know why as I arranged for the furniture to be delivered on a nominated day). OK, could they just be put in the post and be delivered by Royal Mail. No, apparently not. OK, can I return the item then - apparently, yes! So, rather than spend about £3 posting the shelf support pegs you'll pay a courier to collect the item and lose a sale worth a few hundred pounds? Ludicrous! You've been brilliant thus far and I've bought several items of furniture from you but this time youve let yourself and me down. I kept the item and bought some support pegs for a few pounds.

Kafkaesque

My package is repeatedly sent to a locker that is "out of order, check back soon." It's keeps bouncing between the local depot and the locker. I have contacted customer support (an oxymoron) who say that they cannot get the package directed to a working locker. No explanation as to why, other than "computer says no." They have looked at my issue, they admit they can clearly see what's happening, they tell me that they are aware of the locker issue and that the courier is wasting his time but they can't (or won't) actually do anything. We just have to watch as daily the package leaves the depot, gets driven around all day and returns to the depot each evening. I'm told it'll get returned to the seller but the delivery timeframe just gets extended by a day every time the package leaves the warehouse. I'm also told that InPost usually repair lockers within 24-72 hours. This locker has been out of order for several days. Franz Kafka couldn't make this up!

Update: the information on their app stopped updating 5 days ago. Once again I contacted their Customer Support service and they promised to contact the warehouse and let me know by email what's happening. No email update, not that I'm surprised. After three calls over three days it seems the warehouse is being searched for my package. They've been searching for two days but won't actually tell me the package is almost certainly lost, it seems the search continues...

Item is great, delivery rubbish

Item is great, delivery was rubbish. DPD are one of the worst delivery companies I've ever had dealings with. I was at home when I got a text from DPD telling me that I wasn't at home! No knock on the door, no delivery van in sight. I had to collect the item from the local collection point. Maybe consider using a different courier?

Third failed delivery

This is the third time in the past few months DPD has failed to deliver. On each occasion I'm sat at home when I get a text telling me that I'm not at home therefore the item is being taken to the nearest collection point in my local Argos. No attempt has been made to deliver, no knock at the door, no delivery van parked nearby. I have no idea where these drivers are going but they're definitely not coming to my house! When I went to collect it I was told by the Argos staff that this happens a lot and even they have complained to DPD about the number of items being left and people coming to collect saying they were at home the whole time.

Could do a little better

I ordered two items and was informed the courier would be BJS. They did let me know about 30 minutes in advance they would be arriving. One item was delivered as arranged, the other item was still in their warehouse! I specifically arranged for delivery to take place on a particular date because I'm not in for the rest of the week so I was very disappointed to get only part of my order. I then had to go through the hassle of contacting the vendor, explaining what happened and arranging a refund and then ordering from another supplier who can deliver the correct item on time. Everyone was polite and attempted to be helpful but alas, the proposed solution didn't work for me.

Brilliant Service!

I've used Gentlevan twice now and they're brilliant. Both times I've used their packing service which has saved me a lot of time and trouble. Everything was packed with care and attention. The move went smoothly, the guys waited patiently until I received notification from my solicitors that I could take possession of the property. They put everything where I wanted it, nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend Gentlevan.

Poor service this time.

So, I live at number 65. I get a text saying that my package has left safely in my front porch because I wasn't at home. I was. I also don't have a front porch. I get the photo showing me the package except it's not in a front porch, its just propoed against the front door and in the photo the house number can be clearly seen as 68!

So, Darren (who was the delivery person), what was going on in your head?

I tried to report this to DPD but all I got was an automated response along the lines of "we're sorry, we'll let the depot manager know".

DPD are usually great but Darren, sorry, you let the team down here.

Awful service.

I live at no. 65. The parcel was addressed to no. 65. I got a text from DPD saying my parcel had been left in a safe place with a photo. The picture showed my parcel on the front doorstep of a property no. 68 and the number was very clearly shown in the picture! Absolutely rubbish service from DPD.

Edit: I forgot to add, when I tried contact them via the tracking link I just got a message about letting the depot manager know. Useless.

Good item let down by poor attentio to detail.he desk was delivered next day which…

The desk was delivered next day which was great. It was well-packaged and initially all good. The problems started when I tried to assemble it. There are holes for eight screws to attach the legs to the desktop, however no matter what I tried to do, I could only get a maximum of two holes on each leg to line up with the pre-drilled holes on the desktop. I had to drill holes for the other six screws on each leg. Sorry Domli but your item demonstrates really shoddy attention to detail. Having (finally!) assembled it, it looks good and does the job. A pity about the poor placing of the pre-drilled holes otherwise I'd have given five stars.

Great service and product

I had my front door replaced with a high security door. Everyone I met ( salesman, surveyor and fitters) were really helpful and polite. There was no pressure from the salesman at all, the surveyor was very flexible in fitting his visit around my availability and the fitters got on with job and cleaned everything afterwards. Fantastic service and door, highly recommended.

Disappointed initially but all was well in the end

Disappointed my chosen flowers were not available for delivery to the postcode of the recipient, no explanation offered by Interflora. I was subsequently offered a choice of only two bouquets that could be delivered, both considerably more expensive than my first choice.

Once I selected the service was impecable, regular updates and I was informed when the flowers were delivered. The recipient was very pleased!

Overall good company

Cherwell Windows have, over the course of several months, replaced all the windows in my house. The products are excellent, fitters polite and professional. My only gripe is that some of the finer details need attention (e.g. some plastering now starting to crack, caulking a little shoddy), nothing major but irritating nonetheless. I have re-plastered and re-done the caulking but given the work fairly recent I don't think I should have had to do this. One of the window boards was slightly damaged but this was promptly re-placed without any hassle. Overall recommended.

Great service and product

This is the second time I have bought from Dickies. Delivery via Royal Mail took 3 days second class. This time I bought a polo shirt (Code: SH21220 if you're interested). Does the job and even though the label says 'do not tumble dry' I ignored this and the shirt has not shrunk. Brilliant!
