Great home delivery today. Thanks

I had my tesco home delivery this morning. Its very wet and muddy out. The tesco driver took his shoes off when he brought my order into the kitchen.
Thats so polite and respectful.
He was a lovely man.

Two excellent journeys today

I did the Durham to York run and return today in first class to meet an old friend.
Service in both directions was excellent. Staff were absolutely delightful as was the food and hot chocolate.

Fine until something goes wrong then the nighmare starts

Roon sounds very good and its fine until you need help. In november I asked for help with my network bridge. You have to answer a multitude of irrelevant questions to get anywhere near getting support
When I finally did get to ask for support, my request was totally ignored
Today I have had further problems with the roon software. As before, It is impossible to ask even the most basic of questions.
Another issue with the software has arisen too and I just cant be bothered.
I will not be renewing my subscription. Roons owners just dont care about their subscribers.

High Quality service from Audio emotion

I bought a Lumin network transport from Audio Emotion a couple of years ago.
Unfortunately it developed a fault around a month ago.
I contacted them and returned the player.
Today I received the repaired player.
I found Audio emotion to be thoroughly professional throughout the process.
When I buy further Hi-fi products then I will certainly use this company
A very high quality independent hi-fi store.

DHL express delivered a very valuable item today. Its Christmas Eve and I didnt expect it delivered today.
Map and real time tracking was spot on.
The delivery driver was friendly and courteous.

Excellent service at Sheffields Wicker tesco

This is a review for tesco Sheffield Wicker
I've not been to a large supermarket since before covid and I do find them somewhat bewildering.
I was there today early before 8am. There were plenty of staff. I did need help to find my items. There were plenty of staff and every one of them was superb.
My experience at this tesco couldn't have been better.

The driver went to the wrong house and couldnt be bothered to look at house numbers. He even took a photo of the wrong house.

I paid for a parcel collection. It was due today between 9am and 10am. I then got a message saying the driver had called and my parcel was not ready.
The online message said
"When our driver arrived we were advised the items were not ready for collection"
To whom did the driver talk to? My parcel was by the door ready to be collected. Its still by the door waiting to be collected
Nobody had been to my house The driver went to the wrong house. He even took a photo of the wrong house. The house numbers are clearly marked. He couldnt be bothered to look at the numbers
I called DPD and they have said the driver will come back later today by 5pm.
If they do come back, then I will edit this review to reflect that
I have no way of tracking when they will come so I have to now stay in all day.
All the driver had to do was to be bothered to look at the house numbers.
Is that really too difficult for them?
Its a very important parcel I needed collecting and delivering.
Update
DPD said they would definitely collect my parcel by 5pm today after the mess they made this morning. They haven't bothered coming for my parcel. I have given up. My parcel won't be getting delivered. Consequently, that leaves me a lot of money out of pocket as I had to get this parcel delivered.
DPD don't even have the decency to contact me and update me about any of this.
I wont be contacting them again as they really aren't worth dealing with. DPD don't actually keep their word anyway.
They are a Disgrace.

Absolutely appalling service from EE. Vulnerable people beware EE.

Absolutely appalling service from EE this week.
I spent 75 minutes three days ago placing an order for digital voice installation.
Everything was arranged for installation and equipment delivery. There are vulnerable people at the property who need a phone service. Thanks to the forced migration to digital their peace of mind has gone.
Royal Mail had arranged delivery of new equipment on Monday
This morning my order and installation was inexplicably cancelled by EE.
A very frustrating chap at EE on the phone told me I have to resubmit my order tomorrow. He refused to tell me of the reason for cancellation. He refused to let me speak to a manager.
Are these people aware how scared vulnerable people are about this forced change to digital voice.
I now have to waste even more time on this.
I am seriously thinking of changing to a different company for broadband after being with BT for a very long time.
My advice to the disabled and vulnerable is to avoid EE at all costs as they really dont care about your needs and rights.
I am disgusted at EE.
I also have absolutely no idea whats going on with my account and when the forced change to digital will take place
Its very very worrying.
To EE . The disabled have rights. Stop abusing them

Lovely staff at the Berwick store

I'm in Berwick upon Tweed frequently from April to October. I always stock up at the the Yorkshire trading company. Their Durham branch closed down a few years ago
The staff in Berwick are absolutely brilliant and so friendly. They are polite and helpful
It's good old fashioned service one rarely finds these days
It's always a pleasure shopping at the Berwick store

An absolute disgrace of a company. Avoid giving any bank details.

This is without a doubt one of the dodgiest companies of all time.
I did sign up for the six month plan. I am not sure any of the people you see on there actually exist.
I need to change my payment card. I cant even do that.
I have asked for a full refund and cancellation of the remainder of my subscription or that they allow me to change my payment card.
They have totally ignored my request.
I will now have to waste time contacting my bank to sort this mess out.
This company will absolutely not listen to anything you say to them.
I have had to change my payment method and they will not accept this. I have offered to pay the remainder in full and they will not listen
I have told them that my current payment method will not work anymore and they will not listen.
I simply cant get through to them.
When they try and take my next payment they wont be able to. I must have told them this 10 times in the last day and still they wont respond or acknowledge it
What is wrong with this company?
Whatever you do, do not give them your bank details.

Superb service again

A tree came down across a right of way here a week ago.
The fallen tree still hadnt been reported by this Tuesday. I phoned the County Council. They were absolutely brilliant.
I sent a photo to assist them in finding it as there are massive woodlands here.
The tree was gone by yesterday morning so I presume they came out and cleared the very same day that I contacted them

Easy and professional to deal with.

I have had phone insurance with this company for over 5 years and thankfully never had to claim
They have always been easy to contact and deal with
I got a new phone a few days ago so needed to change my policy
It's been so easy to arrange and set up.
The policy is comprehensive too.
Hopefully I won't have to claim.
But it's nice to have peace of mind should the need arise

I've been using Burncoose for many years now and they have never let me down.
Ive placed two large orders this year. They arrived brilliantly packaged with plants watered
One plant was missing. They sent a substitute of my choosing and it arrived today
I can't fault this nursery. I know when I order that every plant with arrive in perfect condition
This is my number one nursery for plants
They are as good as good gets

Shame on Poundland for disability discrimination.

I have been using Poundland in Durham Centre of over 5 years now.
I have a memory impairment that can make life challenging to say the least. Consequently I am unable to use self service check outs.
Poundland has always had staffed checkouts until I went in today. They now only use self service. I explained i am unable to use them. A chap said he would guide me through the process.
I find this degrading in the extreme as It emphasizes my limitations and degrades me.
The equality act 2010 states
"degrading treatment refers to any unwanted conduct that violates someone's dignity or creates a hostile, humiliating, offensive, or degrading environment for them, based on a protected characteristic like age, race, sex, disability, or sexual orientation; essentially, it means treating someone in a way that is extremely disrespectful and undermines their self-worth"
This is exactly how using self service checkouts makes me feel.
In my view its illegal not to offer the option of a staffed checkout.
I have a legal right to be "treated equally according to my needs."
I explained to the chap at the self service area that i would be degraded by being helped in the self service process.
I just left my shopping there and walked out.
I wont be going back.
Shame on Poundland.

My order arrived the next day via Evri(always efficient and friendly)
It was well packaged. The item was also very cheap compared to other stores.
