Our journey with the Bells Hells is ending tomorrow! Now feels like a good time to do this.

From the moment I started working with Critical Role, I’ve been keenly aware of the privilege of my position. Not many artists get to experience the joy of seeing their designs cosplayed, drawn, loved, or even hated at the level I have. Every pitch, every sketch, every hour banging my head against every long render- it’s all been such a gift.

I’ll be eternally grateful for the years that the Lucky One was Me.

So sail on, Bells Hells. I’ll see you all the next time I’m in Exandria.

The audience for this piece is so fucking small and it is HANDS DOWN the group of people with the highest rate of tagging and commenting and reblogging I have ever seen with my own two eyes.

This bizarre drawing (I was worried it would be viewed as vaguely threatening?) has netted me more happy moments than the my ten most popular posts. What an experience.

As to why- well, I found it funny.

Real answer- I draw a lot of portraits, when I’m bored. Like for fun. And I’ve been challenging myself to do more than that. Add some plot, add some composition. Anything to elevate.

And I didn’t think they’d mind! They’ve both done worse to themselves and each other, after all. 😉

Okay, with that stat spread, no way is Wicander actually a cleric. Which leaves me wondering...

Like, if anyone would choose to give a cleric those stats it'd be Sam, but if that is what's happening I'll eat one of my hats.

I was vaguely aware of Reece Shearsmith like as a concept before he was on Taskmaster, but it’s amazing how much one guy can seep into your brain in just three weeks.

People have said this to me, and omg it is so nice. I absolutely love working with Critical Role, every job I do for them feels like a privilege.

But honestly, the most joyful thing that’s happened to me in the last few months is that I got to meet @solelleart and watch them design the C4 characters in real time! I mentioned a few weeks ago (about the Jester/Fjord wedding art) that it’s a really great feeling when you see that the perfect artist was chosen for the perfect project. Well, Solelle is that artist. In ways the fandom doesn’t understand yet, and for reasons I hope you will learn as their tenure goes on, CR made the perfect choice of character artist this time.

I had the privilege of working off some of that visual world building in this piece!
