Evidently, for the most part even the people who are pro AI will argue that AI is good for everything except the one specific thing where they have personal skill, experience and expertise in. Naturally that particular field can only be done by human hands and cannot be replicated.
Which only serves to illuminate that the techbros who insist that 100% of everything can be done by machines are just admitting that they don't actually have any field or area of human life, existence, or anything at all, in which they'd know shit from shinola.
I keep hearing comments about how wine mom libs only dislike ICE because they’re deporting people illegally, which, obviously 1) not true that would not be enough to inspire the protests we’re seeing right now, but 2).
It’s actually a really great thing that in the United States you can refuse to open your door to a cop and say “come back with a warrant” and they have to listen and if they don’t you can sue them into the fucking ground.
That’s actually a really important thing to be able to do. That’s important for like every person here.
I don’t think we’re really giving enough credit to how knowing some magic words and phrases can give you tangible rights in this country and it’s being stripped from us in real time on camera.
The fact that due process is something that’s supposed to apply to citizens and non-citizens alike is really important and I think it’s worth defending.
Yes, actually.
I watch a British TV show and someone is being read their rights during an arrest and instead of being encouraged to stay silent and wait for an attorney, they’re being encouraged to speak even if they’re guilty.
No, I prefer my version thanks.
When I watched Anatomy of a Fall, I had fits during the French courtroom scenes because you’re telling me that the opposing attorneys are allowed to interrogate you on your feelings? And you have to answer? Ridiculous!
I will also take our version.
And, yes, due process has to apply to all of us because how do you tell who it applies to without it?
Tbh its not just because you can’t tell who it’d apply to without it applying to everyone. Due process should always apply to everyone because it should be considered a basic fucking human right. The fact that Ive seen so few people actually say that is honestly a bit infuriating.
So turns out the US are setting babies up for a lifetime of illness and increased likelihood of liver cancer in Guinea Bissau in the name of “research”
7000 newborns will be denied the neoneatal HepB vaccine until 6 weeks to ‘prove’ that the HepB vaccine is linked to neurodevelopmental disability on the directions of the Department of Health vis RFK Jr and in collaboration with researchers in Denmark, despite the fact that the vaccine’s efficacy rate and best protection is when administered to newborns, and the total lack of correlation between vaccination and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Guinea Bissau has some of the highest rates of HepB on the continent, and infants are the group at the highest risk of contracting HepB, leading to chronic hepatitis & long term hepatic diseases like cirrhosis and liver failure as well as increased chance of liver cancer.
The study can’t be carried out in the US or Denmark because it fails almost every benchmark for medical ethics — surprising absolutely nobody, it is in fact heinously unethical to expose babies to preventable disease that causes liver failure and liver cancer, but the “study” has been green lit in Guinea.
Fuck the US imperial project in Africa, fuck RFK Jr and the US Department of Health, and fuck every single collaborative researcher in Denmark. This is some nightmare Tuskegee Study shit and every single individual involved deserves to be in The Hague.
I think every movie regardless of time period or tone should have at least 1 (one) trans person in it. Like at the beginning of The Godfather some Sicilian tgirl should come to Vito and be like “Godfadda, I need money for my breast implants” and Vito should be like “I’ll never forget what you’ve done for this family. I’ll find you the best surgeon in New York”
Wait, so Kristi Noem’s podium at DHS is just a straight-up Nazi slogan now? "One of ours, all of yours" was a Nazi policy made when an SS officer was killed in a Czech Village and then the Nazis killed every single resident of that village in response…..but don’t you dare call them Nazis!
They’re not even hiding this shit….it’s all out there in the open
Fact check: the photo is real. Technically that exact phrase is not reflected by historical nazi records, but the intent is.
“However, critics argue that even if the phrase has no direct Nazi origin, its placement on an official podium by a senior US official carries symbolic weight. They view it as evocative of historical practices that are condemned under international law, including the prohibition of collective punishment codified in Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention.”
hessy levinsons taft had passed away on january first. she was 91 years old at her death. a german-born jew, a professor for chemistry, and... the nazi party's "most perfect aryan baby" poster child.
Taft’s image appeared on the cover of a German magazine distributed on Jan. 24, 1935, after winning a contest organized by the Nazi propaganda apparatus to find the most beautiful Aryan baby. The photograph was taken by Hans Ballin, a well-known photographer in Berlin, who had been approached by the office of Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi regime’s propaganda chief, to submit images of infants for the competition. Ballin submitted 10 photographs, including one of Levinsons Taft, whose Jewish parents had taken her to his studio shortly after her birth. The baby won the contest, and her image was later reproduced on congratulatory postcards sold in German shops. According to Taft and her family, Ballin was aware that the child was Jewish and deliberately submitted the photo as an act of quiet defiance. In a 2014 interview, Taft recalled that her mother confronted the photographer after the publication. “My mother asked him, ‘Don’t you know we are Jewish?’” Taft said. “And he answered, ‘I know, but I wanted to mock them, to make fools of them.’” After discovering their daughter’s image had been widely circulated, Taft’s parents became fearful of being identified. They avoided taking her outside, and at one point her father was detained by an SS officer before being released. The family fled Germany in 1938 for Paris, but fears followed them there as well. In 1941, they escaped from France to Cuba, where they lived for several years before settling in the United States. [...]
Throughout her life, [Hessy] kept three original copies of the Nazi magazine that featured her photograph. “My mother took them when we fled Europe,” she said. “She hid them between pages of sheet music.” [...] Asked [in 2014] how she felt about being labeled the “most beautiful Aryan baby,” Taft replied, “I feel revenge. I wish I could have said that earlier, when more Nazis were still alive.”
This is a hilarious thing to learn about
The Nazi’s perfect baby had Jewish parents

I can’t speak for other social media webbed sites but I really enjoy how tumblr seems to just completely spin a wheel on whatever media is hot right now. Like yeah sometimes it’s a new show that’s big and actively coming out but also sometimes there will be a solid month where half my dash is Columbo memes. Defy authority. Get really into an book from the 1800s. Watch shows that haven’t aired in 40 years. Celebrate the anniversary of the Boston Molasses Flood. Become unmarketable
oh shit i almost missed it!
i'm super curious to see what the responses to this are

hi everyone. I need help.
I’m at the vet right now with my cat Clyde getting a lump on his forehead checked that I was really hoping wouldn’t be anything serious but after the initial check up, the vet is also very concerned about him and needs to refer me to somewhere that I can get him a CT scan, and because of the rapid growth of the lump he does NOT recommend waiting on this. and the ballpark quotes he’s giving me for prices are absolutely terrifying me. Anywhere from $500 to several thousand.
So, im scared as hell right now and I want to immediately start trying to gather the finances im going to need to take care of him.
Clyde is only 3 years old he’s so young and he’s such a wonderful cat and he could have so, so many more years of happy life with me and I cannot stand the thought of losing him especially because of just not being able to afford to help him.
I will reblog and update with more information as I am able to, but I’m not wasting any time on this. I know im going to need help to cover the cost of his CT scan and whatever comes next, so please….if you can help, it would mean everything to me.
rlly embarrassing when ppl act like topping/bottoming has any bearing on anything beyond how you like to fuck. grow up
