This doesn't really pertain to anything I just thought it'd be funny and somewhat relevant here.
When I came out to my gen x mom I expected the reaction to be something along the lines of "it's a phase" or just general confusion about everything but she said "Oh, it's okay. My childhood dog was a lesbian"
And then just. Didn't elaborate.
Parents did do that to for some reason
My dad flirts with men and male waiters, and jokes about being bisexual in another life and then is severely biphobic at other times
My mum, when she thought I was a lesbian, told me it was okay to have a “girl crush” and that she had one at my age with the girl next door. She went on this long winded rant about giving each other massages and doing hair and makeup and stuff and sleeping there 5-6 times a week. She’s more confused about what I am than anything at this point.
