Guinevere's Royal Treasurer: "Okay, listen, yesterday was a long day and we did lots of stuff. How about we just snooze today, since yesterday was long and we did lots of stuff?"
Tristan's Fetch and Tug Buddy: "Are you bargaining with them, or...?"
GRT: "Yes."
[Video Description: A black and white cocker spaniel lays on a floor mouthing a red squeaky toy, occasionally setting it down to boop and squeak it. After a few seconds he throws it away from himself, teasing for someone else to come steal the toy (then, according to the rules of the keep-away game, to toss it back). In the background, someone is speaking quietly.]
I don't make the rules, I simply follow them.
And the rules are that she can't go on the bed until I'm in it (mostly because she likes to lay where I do, and I make her move).
So despite me giving her the command to release and go on the bed, she keeps staring me down waiting.
Oh no she found the heating pad, and I'm going to have to fight for my spot... which is probably why she prefers to wait until I go to bed to join me.
We have come to an agreement
Tristan the Fidget Puppy seems (at approximately 18 months of age) to have abruptly worked out a way to fidget every twenty minutes all night, but without getting up and moving across the bed, under the bed, across the room, and so on. He is staying mostly on our pillows, occasionally between us or at our feet, and when he needs to fidget, he only rolls over or stretches or shifts his position on the pillows.
Puppy has become a consistent night skull snuggler and human cuddler.
I would wonder if it had anything to do with the long vet visit last week and the antibiotics (either helping, or making him feel sick and needy)βexcept he suddenly started the extra cuddles the night BEFORE that vet visit.
Between morning meds and breakfast, Tristan wanders off for some morning Sniff Patrol of the house and grounds. Guinevere returns to guard MΓΈthΕ (by her insistence). This does mean that Guinevere gets half an hour of totally exclusive MΓΈthΕ scritchies, as much as MΓΈthΕ can do.
You can probably see her shifting around to direct me to the right places to scritch. Guinevere has Opinions (tell us all about it, Gwyn!)
[Sound: swishing of fingers moving through fur]
Itβs very nice of Tristan to start sleeping in until about 7:30. So generous.
The newfound interest in our shoes is a little less generous.
