I never fully recovered from getting sick December 25th (I was forced without my knowledge or consent by f*mily to be near one of them who was sick without telling me until they were breathing right in my face).
I have a fever still, I am achey & sick. I have chest pains and migraine everyday. I can breathe without daily nebulizer now, at least.
I live with abusive family, I don’t like going into details as I fear they will see my posts and punish me.
I am letting you know that art pieces will be slow as I keep going. I am hoping to eventually feel slightly better, or get use to this feeling, at least. Ever since I was a child I was immunocompromised & I never got better from any sickness I’ve had. I almost died multiple times as a child due to pneumonia, bronchitis, and flu. Medical neglect is partially to blame — as well as physical abuse that never got the proper care and help after years and years. My body is permanently damaged from it, and continues to deteriorate.
I know a lot of people think followers = rich / good life for some reason, but I can’t keep going on like this, and if feels like everyone else has been able to “get out” but I can’t because I’m severely disabled and depend on them for insurance and a home.
I can’t even make a GFM out of fear of punishment. I don’t want to die. I don’t know what to do at this point & I’m sorry for constantly venting or being negative. I am not a perfect person nor can I hide how hurt and badly I am doing.
I haven’t been able to take commissions due to my health being so poor & now it’s even worse after getting sick. I have no income as my family refuses and bans me from getting on disability.

where do you find names for your characters ? Ive been researching good names for my character from Somalia and simply cant find anything good
Well, usually I break it down linguistically & culturally / ethnically.
Example research questions:
• What ethnic groups live there? Is there cultural groupings? What makes these ethnicities distinct?
• What languages do they speak? How many? What culture speaks what languages?
• What are the religions of the area? What are the spiritual beliefs of the area?
• linguistically, how are their names said? Is there grammatical rules that differentiate between other languages?
• What is the meaning behind the name? Is there significance in the meaning / who gives them the name, is it passed down?
These are only a few questions you should research when choosing a name. I know it may seem like a lot at first, but it helps strengthen your knowledge about different cultures and languages & will overall help you understand your characters better.

as someone who is becoming more and more disabled and is starting to switch from a cane to a rollator, your art is very comforting!!! seeing all these people with cool fashions and well,,, happy! there’s a narrative in a lot of media that being disabled is a miserable experience but disabled people can live fulfilling lives like your art shows!!

It means a lot! I try my best to have nuance in my depictions of disabled ocs, like it can feel miserable a lot of the times, but that doesn’t mean you can’t also be fufilled & do things for yourself and your community.
I’m glad I can provide comfort to those newly disabled & with progressive disabilities— I also have a progressive disability so I try my best to have viewpoints from others.

Works with Saad at his family Bakery / Cafe. She helps bake in the kitchens as well as make deliveries. She loves the smell of freshly baked croissants. Najib loves hanging out with her, and doesn’t know that she is secretly baby-sitting him when Saad is busy.
When she still grew up on Xinjiang, before moving to the US, she was forced into a state-run boarding school due to her parents being put into labor facilities away from her. Due to the human-rights violations and abuse — she was physically abused and tortured when “punished” for minor mistakes — she lost her left eye, and left leg below the knee due to infection and sepsis. She has both a prosthetic eye and a prosthetic leg/foot, only was able to get when she left at 21. She has not been in contact with her parents since she was a very young child and has no idea where they are or if they are still alive. This pains her a lot.
One of her current dreams is to get her very own moped.
