Hey!

We're Indigo, a system of (as far as we know) two. We're bodily around 30, read a lot, and study molecular biology while dealing with a few chronic health issues. Individually, we are S (he/him), chaotic good and lawful evil in one oversized nonhuman fictive, and L (she/her or they/them), an enthusiastic ace dork who is some kind of dragon-hearted/kin and would absolutely live in a library given the chance. We're both generally very friendly and talkative, especially about system things and comparing notes across different experiences of multiplicity. (Our own system origins aren't particularly straightforward, so for discourse or DNI purposes, consider us endogenic with an asterisk). This blog is intended to be SFW, and we'll do our best to tag content warnings appropriately, though we're new to using Tumblr and will almost certainly mess up occasionally.

>> ENFORCER SQUADRON <<

Quick refs for everyone because they needed them!!!

Since now I've formally introduced these characters, I thought I'd talk a little more about them too!

Lexios is the captain of ENFORCER. She's a massive feathered beast that rivals even the larger bomber type dragons in size, though her lighter sleeker build and engine type allows her to be supersonic and stealthy, which comes in handy as her job is to protect the kingdom airspace from unwanted intruders. Her white colors blend into the clouds from where she likes to ambush trespassers, and her red wingtip is small enough for her squad members to be able to identify it at a distance when she is flying in cloud cover.

She's the oldest in ENFORCER, as well as a war veteran with the most experience in the battlefield, and she sternly commands the rest of the squad like it's the navy (because it is). Renowned for her war feats and particular ruthlessness when following orders, she is a force to be reckoned with that many do not dare to challenge, and those that do rarely live to even brag about their survival. Despite being a girl of few words and allergic to showing emotions that aren't "being stoic at all costs", she does care for her little gaggle of highly trained soldiers.

She is also a war criminal (god forbid women do anything).

The second oldest in the squad, Sur is much more timid than the rest of them. Where Lexios is stoic and commanding, Sur is shy and drawn back from social interactions that involve more than two other people. A war veteran herself, she has much more mental turmoil about the memories of battle than Lexios, and has given up her stealth bombing nature in favor of communication, radar, meteorology and relay support.

Outfitted with specialty equipment and deeply honed senses, she's the AWACS of the team, which means she is the one keeping tabs on all of their positions, coordinates, as well as constantly scanning the horizon for anyone or anything, and notifying the rest. Her red racing ribbons on her wings are a symbol of this disinterest in actively fighting, as they significantly reduce her built-in stealth.

She works on most of her equipment herself as well, and is quite passionate to talk about how it works with her friends, who will gladly listen to her in these rarer moments of conversation.

The youngest of the bunch, Arc is the token gen Z chatterbox overachiever of the squad. Enrolled and trained in the air force from a very young age, they eventually landed in ENFORCER after being reassigned several times due to their absurd speed, which other veteran Jetwings struggled to keep up with.

Having a cold combustion engine, they have an advantage when dealing with any sort of aerial weapons as there is no heat signature to follow, which makes them perfect for recon and scout work as about half of standard weapon types simply won't lock in on them, and they can outmaneuver the other half.

Arc's true passion is racing and flight, and they have found kinship in Octane. Their friendly rivalry over who is truly the fastest often ends in unsanctioned spontaneous races between the two of them, sometimes even when on patrol (which exasperates Lexios, as it's horribly undisciplined) but has never caused a problem as they are quite literally so fast they can get back in formation at a moment's notice.

And last but not least, Octane is the newest addition to the squad. A by all means demonic looking beast, and with the speed to back it up, he is by and large registered as the fastest creature on the current kingdom record.

Octane was an outlaw racer in the fringes on the kingdom, taking part in illegal and highly dangerous racing events, some without even signing up as he would join the ranks mid-race or sneak into the starting line, and garnered renown quickly as he won countless of them in rapid succession. He was caught on a particularly nasty race when the Aerie's air force (including ENFORCER) raided the event after an anonymous tip by his detractors, and was subsequently offered a job in the air force on the spot by Kelan himself due to his incredible talents (much to the disbelief of literally everyone present).

Despite his looks and history, Octane is a total sweetheart despite his teen heartthrob personality, and is deeply loyal to Kelan and his squad, for whom he will fight tooth and nail and laser beam.

And a really rough size chart for them as well. Proportions on their anatomy are a little off since these were quickly drawn refs, but these are their relative sizes to each other!

Lexios is by far the biggest, she is HUGE, even by the standards of similar dragons.

Next is Sur, who doesn't have that much in length, but makes up for in wingspan and surface area. She's actually quite small in terms of actual body size since most of her surface is wing and hood mantle, and she looks much smaller when landed.

Then Octane, he's fairly big for a fighter jet type, but sukhois are famously hugemongous so it tracks. He's bigger than you'd expect him to be, less evident here and more evident when he's next to other jet types, who's average sizes are very similar to Arc's.

Arc is the smallest in the squad, but they're a very compact bastard so do not be fooled by their size, they can whoop your ass.

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again sign language needs to become part of the mandatory school curriculum

OP has the tags for uk politics but honestly this should be the case for everywhere.

Oh I absolutely agree

a logical extension of this valuable idea is that kids who sign should also get the opportunity to learn signing in other languages, just as hearing kids do at school (because every country has its own sign language)

The idea of “but everyone knows that” needs to stop.

I saw a post about someone chiding Millennials for not knowing about JKRowlings transphobia, and asking how it is at all possible that people can exist in the world and the internet and, you know, not know.

Which I mean, I get. It is so present in so many of my online spaces that it seems astounding that someone could simply be ignorant! It feels impossible!

But let me tell you a story:

I went on a girls trip with a bunch of friends. All of us are rather incredibly liberal and all of us are incredibly online.

One girl would not stop talking about Harry Potter.

At one point, another girl asked her why she was ok with supporting it, and she had no real clue that JK Rowling was at all transphobic. She had heard that she likes to support Lesbian causes and thought “oh ok cool!” And that was it. She was AGOG with the news and rather horrified.

I must once again emphasize that she was an incredibly online person. She’s a foodie and a restaurant blogger.

Later in the trip we were picking restaurants and I suggested one I found on Google, and she gasped at me. Actually gasped, asking how I could ever be okay picking that one.

The shock must’ve been on my face, because she then told me all of the shitty things that restaurateur does. He abuses staff. Underpays them. Fires them on a whim. Is known for being one of the worst people to his employees in the entire restaurant business on this coast.

And she was so shocked I had never heard of this. Because in her mind, I was just as online as her. And in her online world, EVERYONE knew about this guy.

So I think the moral of this story is: always approach the other person with some empathy. Even online people, even people you think MUST know about how bad people are, may not have heard. It may truly be just them being on a different sphere of the internet than you.

So be gentle, be kind when letting people know they might not have heard about the cancellation of XYZ person. Don’t assume that everyone knows all the same info as you.

By all means, let them know so they can make informed decisions, but being kind will go a lot further than attacking them for some info they might not know yet.

Everyone say thank you to trans femmes for showing us a version of femininity born from joy and desire instead of just through coercion

Everyone say thank you to trans mascs for showing us a version of masculinity born from joy and desire instead of just through coercion

Everyone say thank you to all people outside of the cis gender binary for showing us a version of gender born from joy and desire instead of just through a simple frame work in which our oppressor have used to kill, erase, and censor us.

Thank you for showing us the existence of a history before and a future ahead.

Interaction witnessed at post office today:

Elderly lady mail clerk and young customer are chatting. Customer says, "oh! I'm wearing my boss's coat right now, give me something weird to put in the pocket!" Others within earshot all start looking for something because, hey, important quest. Mail clerk finally reaches under counter, pulls out a large roll of labels, and tears one off.

Sex repulsed people should not have to walk on eggshells when discussing their orientation and constantly remind everyone that they're totally fine with other people having sex and that they're not an anti-sex puritan. You're allowed to be grossed out by the thought of sex and you should not feel like a bad person for your discomfort, no explanation or justification needed. If anyone tells you you're harming others just by being grossed out they're full of shit

So many sex repulsed people in the notes clarifying that just because they're grossed out by sex they're not against it. You don't have to do that. You don't have to defend your sex repulsion. You can just say you're sex repulsed and leave it at that, you don't have to justify it.

BTW if you are someone who experiences romantic attraction but doesn't really want to be in a romantic relationship I think that's awesome and cool you don't have to be aromantic to want to be single and I think it's important to recognize alloromantic people who don't want romance, because not wanting romance is normal, period. It's not just us aromantic people who get a pass because we don't feel romantic attraction, romance is not a requirement!!!

You ever see something innocuous, minding its own business on the clearance shelf at Michael’s and before you know it, it takes over your life for a few weeks?

So it was with this desktop greenhouse.

I took it home and after taking an appropriate time to “season” my idea in my mind (read: a month or two) I set to make my vision of a mini botanical garden a reality.

I started by removing the heavy glass panels and building a raised floor above the latch. I wanted to use the base as a foundation on the building.

I wrapped the foundation in plastic stone textured flooring (meant for Christmas villages) and built a pond at one end of the same. I then gave it a more realistic paint job and designed a rough layout for my plants and displays.

I also knew I wanted to make the ironwork significantly more intricate, but I wasn’t sure how just yet…

Up next - PLANTS! I went wild making all kinds of plants. Some were specific species and some were more conceptual.

I made several trees with polymer clay and moss, cacti out of beads and flocking, cattails out of raffia, hot glue and coffee grounds, and giant monstera leaves out of paper and wire.

This part should have taken me a long time, but it really came together fast. I loved finding ways to replicate natural shapes and patterns using bits of this and that.

I did make adjustments to my plans as I went like eliminating benches in favor of a simpler overall design.

Then I needed to fill my pond with water. For this I used resin. Lily pads were added to the top layer, and I wired in simple LED fairy lights. The batteries are kept in the box under the foundation.

In a weekend frenzy I added more plants, metal (paper) steps, new (plexi)glass windows, a roof, wrought-iron vines (paper again), doors that open, and a hose reel disguising the latch. Suddenly, a project I thought would take months was finished…

I love my desktop botanical garden. Right now it sits on a simple lazy Susan in my office. But I’d love to get it a proper display box to protect from dust.

Thank you for coming on this little journey with me. This piece packs a lot of joy into a tiny space. I always love building miniatures, and I’ll be doing more in the future I’m sure.

That’s why you should never accept the excuse “Well it was a different time.” They knew it was wrong. They always knew.

January 2026 Fictionfolk Census!

Welcome to the January 2026 Fictionfolk Census! Through this survey, we're looking to see what sources are most common in the fictionfolk community. This survey is open to all who identify as being fictionfolk.

All you have to do for each response is tell us the name of your source! No extra information needed. From these results, I will be examining:

  • What sources seem to be the most represented in the community?
  • What type of media seems to be the most prevalent in the community? (live action, video games, animation, film, television, etc.)
  • Does a certain media's popularity correspond to the amount of fictionfolk who have it as a source?

The survey will end 2/15/2026, and results will be posted on @fictionfolklore. (though the survey may be extended based on the amount of data collected) After the survey ends, I will try my best to get the results out in a timely manner (i anticipate a large range of data to look through, however).
