Concept: in a setting where vampires exist and can only be harmed by symbols of faith (crucifixes, etc.), a James Randi-style skeptic/supernatural debunker witnesses his family murdered by vampires, and dedicated his life to hunting down what he believes are a cabal of ordinary serial killers with a blood fetish and some cheap plastic fangs. They die when he shoots them with an ordinary gun, granted holy status by the sheer force of his belief that they are actually just ordinary humans who will die when shot.
The reason the sun burns vampires is that all the plants worship it.
That is the single most insane addition possible and I love it.

Whenever I feel like hope is lost, I google "tarantula saved from burning building" and read all the stories about firefighters rescuing one of the world's most hated animals because they're someone's pet and it doesn't matter if you're scared of spiders or think they're gross, their lives have worth and they deserve to live just as much as any other pet

I haven’t see Heated Rivalry yet or read the book it’s based on so I don’t really know. A lot of people have commented that Heated Rivalry reminds them of my Rivals series but from what I’ve see of the show from tumblr, it looks like they probably just used a lot of similar romance and fanfic tropes as I did. But who knows, if they were secretly inspired by Rivals then I’m not going to say no to them giving me some of the royalties 😂
