Got another visit from the amazing twig-moth that is the pale prominent! 😁 So happy that they seem to be having a good year, gives me hope.

OMFGs. I'm so excited.

Look at this absolutely legendary pale prominent moth that visited. Behold, one of the greatest twig-moths of all time!

Epic twig/bit of old stem mimicry. Perfect. No notes. What an absolute joy to see.

I cannot love this moth enough, camo bugs are my favourite bugs ever.

Look at this good fuzzy Little Guy. Nut-tree tussock moth AKA the original flying kitten. The pollinating tabby cat of the nighttime skies 🦋🐈🐾 (Moths are important pollinators - they're the night shift, clocking in when the bees go to bed.)

Poplar hawkmoth, I repeat, poplar hawkmoth. The Poplar hawkmoths have landed. 🦋🐾

Sometimes the world feels bleak, but moths keep me going.

I've been a bit remiss with my moth posting lately, I'll try and share some more to make things a tiny, fluffy speck better.

[Siren wailing]... Big pink hawkmoth season is upon us. I repeat, big pink hawkmoth season. This is not a drill.

This is an elephant hawkmoth, warming up its wings & taking off. It's caterpillars are also magnificent chonks, and they eat rosebay willow herb (AKA fireweed in the US I think?) This is a perfect reason to do less weeding. Keep some weeds, get big pink hawkmoths like this one.

My favourite micro moths are back!

It's the furious grass veneers!

Furious garden grass veneers in this case, I think. Look at the rage in those tiny lil eyes. This is why I keep some long grass in my patch. Do less mowing, get adorably furious moths.

I'm grateful to have an amazing GP. I know not every spoonie has such good medical experiences & don't take it for granted.

Buff tip moth. Another species from yesterday's trap. It's the best broken twig mimic, A+ camo, also has adorably flat fluffy face. Perfect moth pal, no notes.
