These are primarily ones for Ghazzan families although some fundraisers for Sudanese families are also listed (I'm more familiar with my own country's politics and dialect and am more capable of vetting fundraisers for Palestinians as a result).

About the targeted harassment campaign against Palestinians on tumblr, from August 2nd to August 3rd 2024. Now extended to August 7th because of writing-prompt-s' accusations and slander (now only badjokesbyjeff)

DM me with proof of donation to any Palestinian fund/charity/effort and I will draw or paint for you. MUST send references of what you want me to draw/paint.

I'm not in a place where I can send my own money but I want to motivate people to donate.

$5 or less - a quick sketch (likely pencil), 1 character/object only

$6-12 - a sketch, more money the more color. Up to 3 characters

$13-25 - landscape sketch OR character sketch with full color, line art depending on energy. More money, more characters, up to 5.

$50 - landscape sketch with full color OR full color line art for 2 characters max.

$100 - full landscape painting (digital) OR full color painter style art for 2 characters max (digital)

$200 - 9 x 12 oil paintings on canvas board, subject of your choosing. You must pay for shipping if you want the physical painting, otherwise I will send you a high quality scan and sell the painting to donate the proceeds to the fund or charity you donated to.

the biggest thing that fucks me up about lil nas x is he put out some REALLY fun creative music, with a really cute minimalist pink early 2000s aesthetic, super queer and well made, and it got so little attention. and then the whole bullshit with him getting arrested happened and that was what got everyone talking about it. fuck i'd be livid if i were him.

& on my own people: a lot of white queer people love lil nas x when he's doing cunty clapbacks online but don't actually support him materially in any way. which like. its not that you are Morally Obligated To Stream HOTBOX, its not activism or anything. & idk if i have the best perspective to really analyze white queer people online's relationship to him. but it frustrates me to watch.

a lot of people have tagged the AR 'toss a couple of jokes' into academic writing post with comments about how it would be inappropriate for academics writing on subjects like genocide or racism to joke in their work, which is, of course, true, but also:

i think it's good to take the work one does seriously, actually. i am not an academic, but if i were, i would not be making quippy jokes in my work on the political use of religion in the Roman Republic. why would i? it's not a particularly funny topic, but it is a fascinating one. i don't need to lard my work with jokes to make people read it, as though i was wrapping a pill in cheese for a dog.

in short, in the vein of "now say something true and beautiful": now believe in the importance of what you're doing

#usually academic writing works from the starting assumption that if you are reading an academic article on this topic#then you are interested in it#it's not desperately trying to find tricks and shiny things to get you to care. it assumes you do#and usually the readers are!

My first pass on the graphics is nearly done!

I still want to add some flashy effects, as well as program in some additional text to give more context and information to make it more educational 😈

I might also spend some time doing a second pass on the graphics to re-structure some scenes and add in more hand-pixeled details, but we’ll see how exhausted I am by the time I finish the first pass
