How I think I’m writing: Using eye contact, or lack thereof, to display emotions such as intimacy, shock, denial, or nervousness. 

How I’m actually writing: She looked at me, and I looked away. I tried to look back, but she was already looking at the sky. “Look,” she sighs, looking back at me for a split second. “I don’t know how to say this.” We looked at each other and time stopped, but then she looked her lookers at something else to look at, looking tired.

Some Chrissy outfits that I never posted!

These were concepts from a (now abandoned, rip) fix-it fic. I had a scenario where she would have worked as a waitress at the bar where Eddie and his band performed, and a Sandy from Grease scenario where she dresses outside her comfort zone to impress him lol. The middle fit was just for funsies. ✨

Drawing gym clothes was partially motivated by the first verse section of Teenage Dirtbag (by Wheatus), and partially motivated by the concept of the last image. Having any Stranger Things character be subjected to square dancing seems hilarious to me, but that one would find it especially torturous. I have it on good authority (my mom, lol) that square dancing was done for Phys. Ed before/around the mid-1980s, some athletes were required to do it, and nearly everyone hated it. I like tapping into the deep emotions of a piece, so I found a truly pain inducing version of Buffalo Gals to listen to.

I actually have some ideas about expanding this into a short-ish comic, but even mini comics take me forever. It would be a real commitment if decided to do it. But if people were really interested in that . . . *sweats in people pleaser*.

spuffy is genuinely so incredible girl i just need to appreciate their arc again. wow. they went from "i'd rather be fighting you / mutual" to "i can fool everyone except myself. or spike for some reason" to "look at my poor neck all bare and tender and exposed" to "you're in my gut, my throat, i'm drowning in you" to "what you did for me and dawn, that was real" to "i know that i'm a monster but you treat me like a man" to "give me something to sing about" to "you belong in the dark with me" to "you gave me the spark and now all i do is burn" to "i've seen the best of you and the worst of you and i understand with perfect clarity what you are. you're a hell of a woman. you're the one" to "i love you... spike."

I know that's not what you wanna hear. I'm sorry. I really am. But, Spike, you have to move on.
