I've been so distracted by Submas recently. They are my favourite train boys, they make my Autism go Brrrr. Lowkey such a simp but recently I’ve fallen down AU rabbit holes. My favourite by far is a Story by @onestepbackwards called Our Angel which is a Greaser!Submas x reader AU.
Firstly if you haven’t yet read what is up currently, DO IT. It is so good, all of their work is, and it low-key has made me feel so much better as I’ve been unwell recently and I’ve even used some of their stuff to calm down from anxiety attacks. I can’t recommend a writer more right now, and please treat yourself and check them out. If you do just remember to be respectful and please don’t bother them too much about writing more, gotta keep respectful boundaries after all :)
Secondly, after reading their story, and then gobbling every other bit of Greaser!Submas I could get my little fingys on, I decided to draw the brothers from the AU in the way I pictured them in my head. These are most likely not accurate at all to how they picture these boys but I was just doing this because ADHD suddenly decided what we were doing for the next hour or so. This took me far longer to finish than I meant so I hope people like this, I had to do the boys justice and I’ve never drawn them in my style before. So here! I was going to get rid of the top bust shots where I was trying to figure out how to draw their hair and make them look different but I left it in cause I kinda like them.
If you’re interested in the Greaser AU, then again check out @onestepbackwards. When going through the #Greaser!Submas I also stumbled upon @r0-boat and @smallestapplin who also have incredible stuff written, I enjoy all of the stuff I’ve read so far from them. I already knew of @yanban-san as I stumbled across them a few months ago and they do a ton more AU!Submas and their art is incredible.
I know from when I use my Laptop to write my longer fics that sometimes the @ play up so I might write the @ again in a comment as those have never gone overly buggy for me, but I don’t know. If you’re one of the cool people I’ve mentioned:

Paired with either one of those baggy tank tops with the arm holes cut so low you can see all the way through (titties out by proxy), or the tiiiiightest v-neck that gives you just the barest, most delicious hint of his collar bones and the very tops of his pecs. Enough to make you want to drag your teeth over them. He knows exactly what he’s doing.
Or a skirt, you say? Short enough to show some thigh, and high waisted cuz the boy has some hiiiiips, yes please! You know he’s got fishnets on. You know. The ones with the smaller netting and sparkly rhinestones glued on in a really pretty gradient traveling up his legs to his thighs. He’s probably got one of those baggy/fitted crop tops to go with it, that cinches in at his waist (it doesn’t go down any lower), and drapes off one shoulder like some kind of decadent robe.
He’s a gorgeous man and he’s gonna flaunt it - and if he looks like the hottest piece of arm candy with you at his side, then all the better!
Emmet is going to be the hottest arm candy if he has anything to say about it.
He feels so confident and hot in those outfits, and if he’s in a skirt and sees your staring at him and his bare legs, he’s going to tease you.

But please do, seeing how you practically trip over your own feet, just because he’s so pretty and you can’t stop looking, has his ego through the roof.
He also wants and tries to get you to put your hand around his exposed waist, just so you can slide it easily under his crop top.

Ingo
- ingo has prepared for this moment since you two became serious. He started applying chapstick more frequently, and eating more mints regularly, just to be ready for when it does happen. He’s so nervous, and just wants it to be perfect.
- The issue is Ingo himself, he’s so worried about making you uncomfortable, that he will ask you a thousand times if you are, even when you tell him you’re fine.
- There are two likely scenarios where the kiss will occur, either in the middle of a date, with the sunset giving you such a heavenly glow. You turn to him with a smile, and it just happens. He can’t help but lean in, and you get closer in return. His body is on fire, heart racing, and sweating as your lips touch. The soft sigh he lets out, as if he’s been complete. He knew then he wanted to be serious, for there to be more, and to want more.
- Scenario two, he’s walking you home from a date, both of you chatting and laughing after such a wonderful night, it’s a shame it has to end. He walks you up to your home, holding your hand which you’re gleefully swinging back and forth. Both of you stop at your door, looking at each other, not wanting it all to end just yet.
“I had fun! I can’t wait for next week.”
“Like wise. The walk home will be lonely without you.”
You’re both nearly chest to chest, slowly getting closer. His hand coming up and cupping your cheek.
“Is this okay?”
“Yes..please.”
He asks again, and again, and again, until you’re fed up with him asking. Grabbing him by his collar, you pull him towards you, slamming your lips against his. Ingo let’s out a muffled squeak, his face bright red as he melts into the kiss.
His knees growing weaker as the kiss goes on. By the time you let go of him, he’s trembling, and not even sure he can walk straight.
But it was worth it.

Emmet
- Emmet knows he needs to wait, but he’s very impatient. He adores you, and wants to show you as much affection as possible! But your comfort means everything to him. So he waits until the right moment, maybe a few months into officially dating does it happen.
- Emmet maybe a strong trainer, but he’s entirely too weak for you, especially when you’re comfortable with him, comfortable enough to laugh loud and true.
- the way you slap your legs, the table, and even leaning into him as you laugh yourself to tears, has him smitten. He’s nearly blindsided by the love he feels, how his heart is pounding at just the delightful sound.
- Once you’ve settled down to just breathless giggles, he makes his move.
- Hand holding yours, and his other reaching over to cup your face, making you look at him. A soft smile on his lips.
- “Can I kiss you?” Hope in his eyes, more so when you chuckle again and rest a hand over his “you can.”
- The kiss is playful, muffling each other giggles. His lips are a tad chapped and rough feeling, but he tastes like the cupcake he ate earlier. The kiss itself is a long one, like he’ll never see you again, even though you two have a date planned next week.
- By the time Emmet pulls away, both of you are out of breath. But he looks so lovestruck, like he’s drunk off of you.

Ingo
- his hands are usually very soft, he takes self care very seriously, and thus his hands are always moisturized. He’s so use to wearing gloves, that when he holds your bare hand, he nearly melts at the delicate touch.
- Ingo’s hands are always cold. During the spring and summer, it’s always so nice, but during winter it’s an absolute pain.
- Ingo always asks “May I hold your hand?” And when you agree, he gently intertwines your fingers with his, and gives your hand a light squeeze. If there aren’t many people around, he will bring your hand up, and give the back of your hand a soft kiss, before lowering it.
- Ingo is not one for large displays of PDA, so holding his hand is a very common occurrence. His thumb often rubs against the back of your hand.

Emmet
- needy, needy, NEEDY! Holding hands is the smallest act he does, most times he’s wrapped around you, or has an arm around you, or trying so hard to lavish your face in kisses.
- Emmet’s hands are a bit more calloused than Ingo, a bit more dry and cracked too, he washes his hands a lot (due to loving on Eelektross, the slimey boi.) so it kinda tickles, or makes you tremble when you feel his hand rubbing against yours.
- He’s also like a walking heater, holding his hands in spring and summer is a nightmare, especially cause he looks so hurt when you don’t want to hold his hand, but during fall and winter he’s perfect. You can take your own glove off, and slip it into his, just to feel his warmth.
- When Emmet holds your hand, he gives it a light squeeze, before pulling it up to his face, to dramatically kiss the back of your hand and up your arm, just to dip you down and kiss you. He needs his dose of affection, darling!
Ingo went through a goth/punk phase, Emmet went through a weeb/scene phase. I do not take criticism.
No no, you’re absolutely correct.
Ingo has a hard time letting go of such fashion, it’s why he’s settled for all his clothes being black, or having black somehwhere in his outfit.
He still has sets and pieces of clothing from said phase, he just couldn’t bare to part with his jacket with diy made thumb holes! It means too much to him!
Emmet however, definitely had a ‘baby’s first fandom’ phase, definitely cringes when he looks back on how he acted when he first got into anime.
He refuses to speak on it.
However he does still watch anime regularly and collects merch, he has so many plushies and figurines! (Also merch more on the lewder side of things, but he will deny it until he’s blue in the face.)

Honestly.
You’re gonna come over for dinner, Ingo and Emmet in tow.
You’ll be greeted by Arthur, who’s wearing a pink lovedisc apron and making dinner.
But once that’s been left to shimmer, he’s slamming not just one, but two giant (very nice) albums.
He’s very involved with his family, and very close with his sons.
Hell, the only reason you didn’t meet their dad soon was just because of work, and how exhausted they were.
So you’ll be sitting next to this giant of a man, while Emmet is trying to get the albums away.
“Dad, please.”
“Emmet.”
Emmet loses once again.
Though both Ingo and Emmet try to hide their faces, as they are just so embarrassed.
Blushes darkening when they hear you coo and awe at how cute they were!
“Oh, this picture was taken after Emmet learned how to walk.”
“DEAR DRAGONS NOT THAT ONE-“
Arthur chuckles “You think he’s a menace now? The second that boy learned how to move his legs, there was no stoppin’ him. He’d take off like a zubat outta hell.”
The picture in question shows a baby Emmet, dressed as a little train conductor, with what looks to be Arthur’s hat in his hands.
Being help up by the scruff by Pepper the Herdier, who doesn’t look too amused.
“He managed to snap a pork chop, that I had yet to cook, and bolt the second I had my back turned. Luckily Pepper was already on him.”
“And somehow, in the span of two minutes, Emmet had already left the area, teething on a raw pork chop.” Ingo chimes in, cackling at the offended gasp his twin lets out.
“I am Emmet. And I hate both of you.”
The three of you laugh, knowing Emmet is just playing.
But it’s hard not to laugh when he’s sulking like that.
“Ooo what about Ingo?”
Oh that gets Ingo to fall silent.
“Yeah dad! What about him?” Emmet’s grin turns evil.
Arthur hums for a moment, flipping through a few pages before tapping on a picture.
“Don’t know if you noticed, since it’s healed up so well. But Ingo’s got a scar on his hand, because when he learned to walk, he wanted to play with all my Pokémon.”
You remember the twins telling you Arthur worked as an engineer, and worked on keeping the subway safe.
His team was made up of a Herdier, a Ferrothorn, a Klinklang, a Excadrill, a Conkelder, and a Lampent.
You also recall earlier seeing pictures of the Ferrothorn(named Buddy) with styrofoam balls on each of his spikes.
“He wanted to pet Ruby, my Excadrill, but she was sleepin’ when he crawled over. She’s a good girl, and is mindful of her claws, but he spooked her. She jerked her head up and cut his hand.”
You look at the picture, and see it’s baby Ingo, being held up by a very guilty and sad looking Excadrill, meanwhile despite the cut, Ingo looks happy to be held by the Pokémon.
Arthur snorts “He’d throw the biggest fit if I tried to put him to bed, he wanted to sleep on the Pokémon’s bed with ‘em.”
“We have videos of it.”
Arthur’s eyes light up at the mention of the home videos.
The large man is quick to get up and go looking for them.
You look to your boyfriends with a smile.
“I like your dad.”
They both sigh, they are so relieved you do, but now you’re going to happily sit through every childhood story.
