sewing is the most deceitful hobby because there's always something else you need, like you need an iron you need an ironing board you need an cutting board you need a ironing mat you need a table for your sewing machine you need a table to cut your fabric you need another table for your sewing machine you need three more additional tables for your sewing machine you need another sewing machine for your sewing machine you need a room for your sewing machine your sewing machine has eaten you

PAINT: HOW TO RECLAIM YOUR BODY UNDER CAPITALISM is now available to read on the patchwork press dot com!

PAINT is a creative non-fiction essay exploring my relationship to make-up and my gender identity, featuring a lot of ranting about social media. it is a manifesto for those of us who were never quite as straightforward as femme or masc, trans or cis. it has been a labour of love of mine for nearly a year now and putting it on the Internet is very scary! I hope that you, reader, find it relatable, or interesting, or simply enjoy it as a piece of verbose, self-indulgent prose.

I think the coolest part about creating is when you make something and you can't stop staring at it because you can't believe that I did that!!! it was me!!!! I made that!!!!

(one of my adoring fans voice) did you hear heresy twink-wizard is working on a creative essay about the beauty industry from his perspective as a non-passing trans man who wears make up? yeah I heard it's gonna criticise how capitalism profits off principles of misogyny, and touch on themes of social media, representation, ageism and the nuances of trans identity, all through first-person narration. it's gonna be massive moment for purple prose enjoyers. yeah I'm so excited

I hate when people ask me how long it took me to crochet something I’ve made. Frankly, that’s none of my business. I put the yarn on the hook and worked on it whenever the spirit happened to take me to and then one day it was done. How long that process took is between the yarn and god; I want no part of it.

These tags in particular... For any fiber art. For me it's mainly cross stitch

(holding up a singular sewing needle) yes! i found it! now i can sew my shirts and sweaters and blankets and beanies and (trips and falls into another fucking haystack

Maintaining a diversity of ongoing personal projects is important because it enables you to procrastinate on one by aimlessly tinkering with another, thereby creating the possibility that you'll finish one of them by accident.
