Hello friends! I know that I don't talk about my own life too much, and that's alright. My biggest goal is to help each of you, and to whoever may need an extra boost! When it comes to doing exercise, there is no right or wrong way to do it! If you enjoy playing soccer, then do that! Or if you love going for a jog, then by all means, do it! One should not cage them self in the gym and tear themselves apart simply to look a certain way. You need to show yourself the love and care that you deserve, and really just get moving in a way that makes you genuinely happy!
Quick fact. Ready? When we workout at moderate intensities, the vessels in our skin dilate in order to send more blood to the surface and release heat from the body. However at high intensities, that blood is redirected towards the heart and working muscles to fuel their high levels of work. This leads to less thermoregulation, and thus a higher risk of overheating when working at very high intensities, especially in hot weather.
Quick fact. Ready? Larger muscle groups, like the wonderful Gluteus Maximus, have thousands more motor units than smaller muscle groups, such as the muscles controlling eye movement. This contributes to how we are able to produce such astounding force with the contraction of our glutes. It's amazing really, how our bodies are designed.
'Being active' does not mean you have to be a 300 pound body builder, triathlon runner, or highly competitive bikini model. You don't necessarily have to run, lift, play tennis, football, soccer, or do plyometrics. 'Being active' simply means doing what you enjoy doing; what ever that may be. If you don't enjoy strength training, then you don't have to do it! If swimming is more your thing, then go for it! Do what feels right, and have fun with your physical fitness!
