Fair and efficient

Fair and efficient. Before asking for a quote, I contacted Macback to clarify a couple of things about my potential trade in. I received a helpful and quick reply to my email. I subsequently obtained an online quote for my iMac, which I considered to be in genuine “out of the box” pristine condition and therefore graded A. Pickup via DPD was efficient, on receipt the iMac was quickly assessed and the quote confirmed. I accepted by return and the funds were in my account the next day. Macback communication has been good throughout. I couldn’t be more pleased and would definitely use again if the opportunity arises.

Great Customer service response

Great Customer service response. I ordered some filters that were being dispatched from different branches. One branch dispatched same evening - quicker than expected. While the other branch confirmed the order, there was no dispatch notification, so I emailed sales/customer support and quickly received a response and a promise to follow up with the branch, which they quickly did and made an effort to come back to me the same day to provide the promised update. Order was also dispatched and arrived quickly and safely. I don’t always do reviews, but will make the effort, when I have been pleased with the support provided to me. Thank you WEX.

First time user

First time user - really pleased with my experience.
I ordered 3 3D printed items that were better printed SLS, which I don’t have, rather than printing myself with my FDM printer. They helpfully picked up an error in my design that I hadn’t spotted and so I corrected and reuploaded the part. Price was good. After payment the order went quickly to production and then dispatch. I had chosen Global Standard Direct shipping and so I was expecting delivery to take a couple of weeks. The parts arrived on time, very well packaged and protected, delivery tracking worked well and customs clearance in UK was fast and trouble free, before final delivery by Evri exactly 14 days after order. There is faster shipping available at a price, but I wasn’t in a rush and I am used to standard shipping timescales from HK and China and so find those timescales acceptable. The parts were well printed and sanded, ready for my assembly. Accuracy and print quality was good - overall really pleased and will use again when the need arises. I only make the effort to write a review on Trustpilot when I feel things have been really good or really terrible, in order to help others. In this instance everything was good.

EBay goes from bad to worse

Buyer protection fee is an expensive con, it doesn’t provide any additional protection, it is just a fee earner for eBay. Similarly, Simple Delivery is also an expensive and unwanted change. Sellers should be able to arrange their own delivery method and price and not be forced to use eBay’s anti-competitive delivery methods. Buyer protection fee penalises private sellers in favour of business sellers as it makes it less attractive for a private seller to sell an identical item because to match the price the buyer pays, a private seller has to discount an item by the buyer protection fee amount, otherwise the buyer protection fee will always make a private seller item more expensive. As a consequence I have moved many of my items to other platforms, so I don’t have to subsidise the buyer protection fee and I can freely choose how I safely and reliably send an item to a buyer. I have used ebay since its early days and it is now genuinely the worst it has every been.

Acceptable pattern part delivered on time.

Ordered Fan oven electric element to replace a failed unit. Item arrived on time and was as described. Ransom were able to supply a more affordable pattern part, which is what I was looking for. This is the second element replacement for my Hotpoint oven. The first replacement - an expensive original part direct from Hotpoint - only lasted a year before failing again, so this time around I decided that a cheaper pattern part couldn’t be any worse, so saved some money. Pattern part is okay, it’s working so far and is identical to an OEM part, save that the support bracket did not line up properly with the retaining screw hole, so the circular element is not as centred as the OEM version. For the money it is okay.

Smart meter issue - Fuse excellent

Had a problem with my smart meter, Fuse were excellent and quickly arranged an engineer’s visit. Engineer (Chris) was on time, polite and friendly and took time to explain everything to me. Overall an excellent experience and so far it looks like the visit has fixed the issue.
Always easy to contact Fuse and they are always helpful.

Fantastic Blazer arrived this morning

Ordered a Blazer (jacket) and it arrived within the estimated timeframe. Blazer is perfect, exactly as ordered. For me, iTailor has always delivered good fitting garments. I use my actual measurements and over the years I have refined my measurements to the point where the fit for shirts and suits is perfect every time. Today’s arrival was no different, a made to measure double breasted navy blue blazer with gold buttons, which looks stunning, so pleased that I have gone to the effort of a review. I have lost count of how many shirts I have had from iTailor and I must have had 4 or 5 suits over the last 10 years or so. I don’t buy off the peg, ready to wear any more as garments from iTailor, when made with full measurements are a far superior fit and the tailoring is a good classical/traditional cut.

Pricing was fair, but service was slooow

Pricing was fair, but don’t buy without a discount code, good quality part. Experience only spoilt by long queue caused by counter staff strolling around and chatting rather than getting on with serving customers in a swift fashion. They seemed to be there for their own entertainment rather than efficiently serving customers. Frankly, if you have a click and collect order I don’t understand why the order isn’t picked ready for collection, like it is with other click and collect retailers - that approach would at least be a start towards faster customer service.

Awesome until you realise that they…

Awesome until you realise that they want to set up a billing agreement on your Paypal account instead of a regular single one-time payment. There should be an optional opt-in to retain Paypal payment details for future transactions, it shouldn’t be the only option, if I don’t want my payment details stored by the vendor.

Sale lost - I cancelled at checkout and went elsewhere for my purchase.

Glasses are fine - thanks

Glasses are fine (2 pairs - varifocal and reading). Frames are a good fit and are equal to high street options. Lenses seem to be about right and in accordance with prescription.
Only downside is the standard delivery time (although I think you can pay extra for express production/delivery). For me, I ordered on 22nd March and received the glasses on 11th April - so about 3 weeks. Not terrible, but not brilliant, just order accepting this - at the end of the day I wasn’t in a massive hurry so this was fine and better value than paying more for express delivery, so for me this was a conscious decision. I have purchased before several years back and so I was already expecting this sort of timeframe.

Well done Fuse

Switched away from one of the big energy suppliers, switch was quick (just days) and efficient. The Fuse App works well. I have had a couple of interactions with Fuse customer service both via the App chat system and also by email and their customer service is first class. Responses are quick and they come back with answers and solutions. One month in and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. With the energy market just beginning to function again with some competition and switch once again now possible, Fuse have a compelling and competitive offer. The old school traditional energy suppliers need to take a long hard look at Fuse and learn something about responsive customer service. It's been a long time since I have had such a positive experience with an energy supplier - well done Fuse.

Really straightforward to deal with. Assessment of trade-in/used equipment completed without delay and payment made quickly. Assessment of the camera equipment I send in was done honestly and the offer price was revised up, because all of the camera accessories were included. A really fair and competitive offer. I would use again without hesitation.
