You are not dealing with B&Q
I was not aware it was a ‘marketplace’ and not B&Q. That explains why I was bombarded by confusing delivery emails with seemingly confusing delivery times. The order was only partly delivered. When challenged, the vendor said some had been damaged in transit. I asked for it to sent again but they said they could not. I was refunded but messed around with and still didn’t have what I wanted.

Sorry but the handling and support given during my conversation with your call centre team, leaves me only to believe that I will not do business with B&q ever again.
You sell goods through your website then hide behind a clause absolving b&q of any problem stating the order is direct with the seller .
May I suggest you review the sales of goods act in future and also remind your call centre staff to turn their phones of when people are on hold as listening to them having a good old laugh and joke at the customers expense is unforgivable and not what I expect from a market leading company like B&q.

I visited B&Q at Cortonwood near Barnsley. I bought a large storage box for my garden. It was too big and bulky for me to lift. A young man named Lee, lifted it into my trolley, wheeled the trolley to the till for me, then wheeled the trolley to my car and lifted the item into my car. Before he left he asked if there was anything else I needed. He was very polite, courteous and helpful.
Very long delays in trying to book an order
I spent several hours trying to make an order to be delivered to my home. After going through all the stages and giving my credit detail I was told the delivery could not be made. I then spoke to 3 of your staff and none of them could sort out the trouble. I tried again and managed to. book the order.
Fabulous revamp
I was changing the decor in my bedroom and went to the store to select wallpaper. I also bought some samples of paint.
The paper was lovely and the finished wall was great. I haven’t say the paint I bought from B&Q was excellent. It was a green colour covering lilac and one coat covered it perfectly which surprised me. It also went far. Really lovely paint, called easy care, and gave a great finish.
I also bought a paste table and brushes which were great value compared with Amazon

Awful service! Ordered mirror online on 1st Jan, after few follow up emails today they’ve just cancelled the order saying that it’s out of stock! Never ordering from them again!

Poor Quality and delay
Our replacement kitchen doors arrived (18 items) and alas on opening found every single one damaged/poor quality control (lack of). Reported to B&Q who have arranged collection and replacement but we are having to wait 6 weeks!!! the original delivery took long enough now we are delayed another 6 weeks... Very very disappointed. Received an apology but that's it, would have expected more due to the inconvenience.

According to the website and a person who I rang at b&q if I called in store the club card would be added manually.

Awful customer service and substandard…
Awful customer service and substandard goods.
I rang B & Q concerning two sets of outdoor lights that have both failed.
They advised me to return them to the store where I purchased them. I requested that I return them by post to avoid a two hour round trip. The store tell me that they can't do that and suggested that i ring their head office. I am now 45 minutes into phone calls both the branch and head office with no solution.
Amazon would have accepted a return by post and provided a replacement without any fuss.
This is why B & Q is failing. With all of your highly paid executives how can you get it so wrong? Simply learn from business like Amazon before its too late.
Naturally, like many others, I wont be relying on B & Q again.
Avoid bathroom install expensive and cowboy job
I purchased a kitchen installation with all the goods from B&Q. The installation was badly done. Tiles were uneven with missing grout. Floor wasn't straight, metal shower curtain rail fell down on a person and the shower/mixers failed within 6 months. I raised my complaint back in April 2025, the work was assessed in May 2025 by the 2nd installer. The bathroom had to be refurb for the 2nd time. The 2nd installer found that normal cheap plaster boards were used behind the tiles, which were soaked and mouldy. The first installer charged me extra for waterproof boards and extra work, which he never installed and done. All the rendering had to be redone, due to the damage. The first installer never levelled the floor before putting the tiles down. The toilet wasn't flushing with a powerful flush. The first installer said it was the design of the toilet. When in fact, he never installed the toilet correctly. The wall cabinet was glued and screwed to the wall, which the 2nd installer struggled to remove. The shower rail was screwed into the plaster board instead of the wood. During this time I lost rental income, as the property could not be let. I asked for compensation and they offered £500. They didn't factor in the rental income I lost as a result. I have chased them over 60 times and they have been giving me the run around. They also haven't paid the compensation. This has been going on for 11 months and my claim is still open. Avoid B&Q, the installers are cowboys with no creditability, they caused extensive damage to my property. I went with B&Q as I thought they were reliable, skilled, trustworthy and the work comes with warranty. Warranty from B&Q is not worth the piece of paper it is written on. They haven't paid compensation for 11 months and counting. I have sent 3 complaints and how I need to escalate to the ombudsman. The bathroom was also very expensive, over 10k (not worth it). You would be better off to get a loan from the bank and go to a local installer.
Miraclegrow compost - waste of money and time
I purchased Miracle grow compost which was full of dust and dried material like grass. As a gardener/grower the compost was totally useless and a waste of money and time

Floor tiles ordered for delivery on Monday, workman waiting to start Tuesday and Wednesday, no sign of the package. Several advisors have promised to call...nothing. DPD just have an answerphone message stating a delay but my tiles for which we are waiting have been at the DPD Cardiff depot for two days with no explanation. Disgusting service!
