They charged me $84.90 twice (instead of billing me once for the month) I called them three times, once Monday where they told me their “finance team” will investigate the payment that isn’t showing from their side and fix it in 24H to 48H. So I called on Wednesday again and they told me the same thing, this is despite showing screenshots and clear identifiers on the payment that identifies the fact that they took this payment, each tangerine payment has a number on it, they could easily identify it and give me back my money but clearly they don’t want to give my money back. So they told me to wait for 24 to 48 hours again and call them back so I did this again and called them on Friday and guess what? They told me the same thing again. At that point I asked them to cancel my NBN plan with them since It’s very clear that they have no plans of giving me my money back. I do not recommend Tangerine, stay away from them if you don’t want to be double billed like me. Remember guys I’ve been with them for years (since March 2023) and they did this to me. Imagine what they’ll do to you.

I can’t call anyone even for emergency. The worst experience ever

Constant Outages - AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Absolutely abysmal in every way. They have continual outages that their support staff are not even aware of. So you spend HOURS trouble shooting when there is no fix. I am CONTINUALLY LEFT WITHOUT INTERNET with no warning.

THIS GOES ON FOR DAYS AND WEEKS.

No refund for this period either, not that that even comes close to the LACK OF UPDATES, LACK OF CARE, LACK OF EMPATHY, LACK OF SUPPORT.

THIS IS NOT A ONE OFF - IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.

Oh my god worst mobile provider I have…

Oh my god worst mobile provider I have ever used, I bounce between prepaid networks almost yearly and this was the worse I ever used. Their online portal is frustrating to use, tickets take days to respond, the random fees they charge , the only thing good about them is the no lock in contract. But even when I cancelled my service they tried to charge me a full month for a few days of being still connected to them in a new cycle. Complained and escalated and they knocked $10 off, honestly they should have just waived it but I'm just glad to be rid of them. Going back to boost. I rather pay the extra $10 a month on a $39 plan with boost than go near another small company like this again. Stick with the big names guys, saving a few dollars a month ain't worth the hassle. I have never had to call a company so many times over simple problems before.

Cancellation policy

Pricing after the 6 month went up exponentially. We therefore changed provider. Tangerine continued to debit payments after the change. When I cancelled they would not provide a refund for the balance of the pay cycle as “It’s not their policy“. Therefore, good customer service is not their policy.

If I could give zero stars I would…

If I could give zero stars I would have. If you have enough stress in your life, don't choose this ISP. I have been with Tangerine for years, also helped other friends and family sign up to them too but like all fruit this tangerine has gone bad. In my case even after fttp installation testing with low latency, download speed is never good, so I upgraded to their 500mbps plan to compensate, most of the time lucky to be a 10th of what I am paying for, just tested at 43mbps and 45mbps. Customer service replies after days with nothing helpful and closes the request, calls to them have massive delays and at times get cut off and their billing via direct debit doesn't take the money in the bank account and they keep adding default fee's. Tried to sort it all out for far too long but no luck. Who has time for this? Just signed up elsewhere and others I know having issues will no doubt follow.

If I could give less than one star I would. The customer service is terrible, they charge an extra $5 if your direct debit doesn’t go through on the first time and even after I cancelled my service and closed my account in self service portal they just continued to charge me. Calling customer service takes forever. AVOID!!!

I should have read the reviews

I should have read the reviews! I was also told 24 hours to activate but its has been 3 days and no sign of any progress - I run a small business from home so this is killing my company, so frustrated they cant give me any idea when i will have service

Tangerine Troubleshooting & Customer Service Lacking

NBN internet down for 9 days and still no resolution. 4-5 phone calls and still no pathway to resolution. First they said it was the modem (purchased from Tangerine), now a direct laptop to NBN box diagnostic identifies the issue may be with the carrier but the offshore call centre (i.e. not in Aus) just doesn't seem to have the capacity to escalate and resolve. I seriously question their ability to troubleshoot problems with the never ending escalation to another team to resolve.
Update: Problem has been resolved after getting through to a very helpful Level 2 escalation agent. As part of constructive feedback, it would be efficient if customers were immediately escalated to higher levels of support after basic functions were checked off thereby minimising the number of days offline waiting for call backs.

Short call time, long fix time - enjoy a month with no wifi!

Literally so annoyed with them right now. We've been with Tangerine for a few years now and never had any major problems - a few drop outs here and there that were easily fixed by resetting the modem or NBN - but since New Year's (almost a month!!!) they've been a nightmare. Our wifi ISN'T working and I've called them every week about it. First it was that our modem "wasn't working" (untrue, because we tested it at a friend's house and it was fine) and we "had" to use theirs, and then, when we did agree to test theirs, that POS didn't work either! They gave us the run around for AGES, saying we had to trouble shoot via a computer, and then EVEN WHEN WE DID THAT they STILL haven't fixed the problem? And, quote unquote, the "new modem we sent you has an error, soooo sorry". We're on test modem number 3, and I'm writing this in an absolute rage because it has now officially stopped me from attending a mandatory orientation session - so, it has now messed up my personal/social life, my job, AND my study. I'm 🤏 this close to dropping them entirely. Their only benefit is that at least the wait times aren't normally long, so I only have to listen to terrible placitudes after a minute or less! Wow, what great service. Paying $90 a month for internet I'm *not even getting*.

The slowest WiFi I have EVER USED!

The slowest WiFi I have EVER USED!! It won’t play one show without buffering multiple times. Sometimes you just get nothing. Don’t bother. Not worth it. I will be cancelling my service.

Terrible internet and service, cheap product

I started my subscription from November, and from the get go had frequent internet drop outs. After calling the technical help, they updated the firmware which made it worse. They tried to fix it again remotely and instead completely cut the internet off. They said they would call back the next day but I never got a call so decided to cancel my subscription.

Pathetic service. Absolute waste of money. BOTH MOBILE & NBN

I honestly don’t know how this company is still operating.

My mobile service barely works. people cannot reach me, and I can’t even make calls in the middle of the CBD. Completely unreliable.

The NBN speed is a joke. I’m paying for 500 Mbps and the maximum I’ve ever seen is 25–30 Mbps. That’s not a fluctuation that’s outright false advertising.

The internet feels like it’s from the 90s. Slow, unstable, and constantly dropping.

Technical support called me back after TWO WEEKS. Two weeks. That’s not support. that’s comedy.

Mobile service still not working properly, even after chasing them.

If you value your time, money, or basic connectivity, stay away. This is hands down one of the worst telecom experiences I’ve ever had.

Terrible support

Hope less support
Internet went down on the 23rdand no pathway to repair.
It’s now the 5th of Jan and have somebody booked to look at my internet on the 9th. Not impressed
If you run a business, avoid this provider

I have issues eith my esim (unable to…

I have issues eith my esim (unable to make calls or send receive sms). When downloading a new QR code it displayed an error on the code so I was unable to use it. I tried for days with different tech staff but because I could bo longer receive sms I couldn't get the one time pin. Eventually they told me they would express post a new sim to my address. It's been 5 days since they said than and according to the AUS POST shipping number they gave .e it hasn't been sent yet. I confirmed it with the online chat and they apologised but couldn't give me an ETA for the new Sim. I've made a complaint with the TIO and they gave given Tangerine 2 weeks to sort but I'm not confident. Tangerine has also sent me a bill for the month lol. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR MOBILE SERVICE TO TANGERINE. EVER!

I signed up as it was so cheap. Support is non existent

I signed up as it was so cheap.
When the service was started my router reported a username/password failure.
I went to the portal and got the info.
That didn't work. I posted a report.
I didn't get a response (still haven't).
Fortunately I know what I'm doing and figured out the link was ilop which doesn't need any authorisation. Any unsuspecting user would be forced into buying one of their modems to get it resolved.

After 8 days I got a response to say my link was working. What a joke....

even bigger joke was their reply to me on trustpilot.

fortunatly they don't do much as the link is really controlled by NBN Co. i'll be moving away after the discounted 6 months.

if you don't have computer skills keep well away from this company.

Slow Internet Download Speed

The internet is not producing the speeds I have signed up to, ie 500/50 mbps Home Fast plan. I currently get 93mbps download and 40+ upload. The download speed is well short of satisfactory. Further their Home Phone Technical support is ordinary, whereas I had my own modem with VOIP adaptor of which they couldn't get to work. Purchased their Netcomm NF20 Router with build in phone connection, unfortunately 10days elapsed before Home Phone was operational. Sought further assistance with the download speed issue once again, reset NBN modem, Netcomm Router with performance less than when diagnostics commenced including the reset of the modem deleting Home Phone Settings. Despite what Tangerine advertises, it does not have a Complaints Department, furthermore it seems Technical Assistance Staff are not proficient in troubleshooting or resolution. In view of the above, I would recommend other Internet Service Providers in the first instance. As Tangerine are all care & no responsibility from my experience.

When money means more than Customers.

Had to travel to GoldCoast but no phone service on the Nullarbor and back blocks of SA and NSW not really a problem could of lived with that. I had a direct debit set up to pay on the 1st of every month, but if that day falls on a weekend you get charged a late payment fee. Tried to explain that my bank only pays during weekdays but they didn't want to know and said it was my responsibility to make sure it's paid on time. As if they can't wait a couple of days other companies do. I cancelled my service on the 1st of Dec after a rude exchange from customer service. I thought I paid in advance so I thought I owed them nothing but they kept chasing me for the money they said I owed them. They eventually phoned me and said I owed them $25, 1 month service so I paid them over the phone with my Master Card to get rid of them. Now they are sending me Invoices for 25 cents master card fee and $5 late payment fee and $3.75 service fee on an account I closed 16 days ago. I also accidentlly over paid by $2 every month for 8 months after I thought my plan had gone up, but I didn't see them return anything extra that they made from my money. So save yourself the hassle and stay away from this mob.
