Great communication from initial inspection up to installation

Great company to have your solar panels installed and at competitive prices. I changed my initial purchase to add a car charger and 5 extra solar panels and they accommodated that without a fuss. Friendly staff , helpful and always picking up the phone. The installers were very helpful and courteous. On the last day of the install the installers stayed until 8pm to finish off and worked tirelessly through miserable weather. Post install , all the paperwork arrived promptly. I am a very happy customer. I will update the review at a later date to see how the support is from them going forward.

I've just had solar and a battery fitted by UPS Solar. I have to say from start to finish the service and quality of the work has been amazing. I've thought about getting it fitted for a while and I'm so glad I went with UPS. My initial contact was with Sophie who was great, very knowledgeable and kept me updated throughout the process. Initial quotes were delivered quickly and she took care of everything else whilst keeping me updated with texts and emails. They arranged the scaffolding which was installed exactly when they said it would be. The chaps who did the install were great, I only got Roberts name but the others worked in the cold and did a really neat job with the cable run, while Robert did a great job of routing the cable from the battery to the fuse board.

Post installation my app login and next steps were clearly explained.

If you are thinking of Solar I wouldn't hesitate and get in touch with UPS for a 1st class service.

Phil and Joe did the install, very polite and professional. They cleaned up after they finished and took away all the rubbish. They explained how to use the app . The workmanship was neat and tidy.

When trying to decide on a solar install there are a huge amount of companies out there and I spoke to quite a few before deciding on UPS Solar. The initial chats weren't salesy and they were one of the cheaper quotes I had. They told me a couple of pre-requisites I needed to carry out and from there the scaffolding went up and the install was all done in less than a week! The scaffolders and solar team gave explanations at each stage and were quiet as they could be, so no real disruption. The only minor thing was a bit of confusion around the location of the inverter and battery. This had to be changed last minute but didn't really cause an issue. Communication has been good and no doubt I'll be in touch for technical support in the coming early days.

From start to finish the installation went like clockwork the installers were extremely helpful and accommodating.We had employed Ups Solar on a recommendation of a member of the family.
18 months later our broadband router had to be changed requiring the re-programming of the app supplying system data. This we found gave rise to problems. We contacted Phil Davies, Technical Support, for help. He went more than the extra mile to direct us to a successful outcome. Well done Ups Solar and thank you Phil.

Most important part is service provide to client after the installation. They are doing perfect job with minimum possible time. Engineer Phil Devis attend the issues with possible minimum time avoid the loss for my revenue. My dongle is malfunction and they replaced it with reasonable time.
UPS solar need to find a solution to battery temperature issue in winter season. It is huge loss for us specially who has installed heat pump.

What a great company, from the quote to the installation, polite, did everything they said they would, kept up to date on everything.
On the install date, everything went as it should, from the panel installers to Robert who installed the battery and connections, always keeping me up to date and showing me everything through the install, had it nearly 2 months, and pleased with everything so far, very happy.

Absolutely brilliant service start to finish, they did exact what they said they would do. And the price was very competitive .I don’t normally leave reviews but when you spend this much money you need to know you're dealing with a reputable company, and UPS definitely are. After sales have been fast and friendly too.

From the site survey to installation through to handover, UPS Solar were simple to deal with and delivered exactly as promised. They were very competitive with their price and the installation is incredibly neat and tidy. The process was explained clearly and any questions I had were answered.

After difficult time with another famous large company installer (can not name here) who failed to fulfil an installation for 10 months. I found UPS Solar through good reviews and a colleague at work.
The experience was entirely great…clarity, speed, communication and precision… from start (Paul) to finish (Simon) and after-installation team. Everyone in UPS Solar that I dealt with was professional. Even the scaffolding company (Lancashire Sc) were great.
20 Panels distributed on 3 different roofs for maximum light exposure.
Only disappointment not with UPS Solar, but with the Local Grid (DNO) who restricted export to 4.2 Kw - a sign of Britain’s outdated Grid…

A brilliant experience from start to finish. Clear communication, regular updates, a great team on the actual installation and great follow up afterwards. Mine was a complicated roof for UPS to work on, but they handled it beautifully. Well done to Andy that led the install and Sophie in the office for being a joy to deal with.

From beginning to end, from the surveyor to the installation team I was very impressed by their professionalism. I would definitely recommend them - quick, easy and a competitive price too. Thank you.

We moved into a new home August 2025 and had solar panels fitted as soon as possible from UPS. This is the second time we have used UPS as we had a great experience with them first time round in 2022.
The sales person I spoke to was extremely helpful and responsive - I spoke to Rhys prior to moving home and found him great. The man who came out to survey the house prior to fitting was also great (August 2025).
However we did have a few issues this time. Panels install mid September 2025.
The panels were installed slightly different to the original plan, but this wasn't really an issue just something to note - we had panels installed on the front and back but the number planned to go on each roof changed slightly, though we still got the same number of panels across both.
We were having other building work done at the same time the fitters came to install the panels but I was doing the school run when they arrived though it would only have been 15 minutes or so before I got home. Rather than phone me, the fitters let themselves into the house (as builders were there already working), and went upstairs and into the loft without first phoning me. I also found them a bit awkward about the building work being done. They also said they couldn't access the scaffolding with a ladder due to our skip, but this should have been considered by the scaffolding company.
Then a few weeks after installation I found a discarded red bull can thrown to the side of the loft, on the insulation, which definitely hadn't been there when we moved as we had boarded the loft in that time and hadn't seen the can during this.
We also had other issues with the scaffolding which was contracted out to Maria Scaffolding by UPS. When they came to remove the scaffolding someone let a bar go which they shouldn't have, meaning bars fell on our low level roof and broke several tiles. Accidents happen and yhey knocked on my door and told me some tiles had been broken, advising that if I contact their office they'll send someone to fix them..I was fine with this but then I emailed Maria Scaffolding and got no response. I also phoned a few times and when someone finally answered they told me to text through photos and my address but I got no response on this. So I contacted UPS who eventually sent someone from UPS to fix the roof but this took three phone calls and an email before they finally sorted it.
The UPS roofer was really friendly and helpful, contacted me the day before he was coming to update me and tell me he'd collected the tiles. He also did a great job of the roof.
The admin staff did a good job on commissioning the system and providing paperwork and the panels seem to work well.
Unfortunately I had a slightly mixed experience this time after a great service first time round. I would still use again but the service was definitely not as good as it had been a few years ago when we used them. They became partnered with Octopus after the first time we used them and I wonder if this has made them busier than when we had them originally, and could this have led to worse service through things like the use of more contractors - I believe the electrician was also a contractor rather than directly employed by UPS.
On the plus side, the overall price was cheaper than the first installation we had in 2022.

Fantastic from day one - Rhys in sales was great, making numerous amends to the design, system etc, all without any hassle. The office team have been great at communicating, from admin, DNO to scaffolding. The installer team turned up (Si and team) on time and worked hard in rainy weather to get the system up and running with a really tidy installation job. I couldn't recommend enough, thank you!
