Turns out I enjoy making prompt lists, and I’m pretty good at it, too, so I’ve started this blog to centralize that for everyone’s convenience.
I plan to have themed prompt lists up monthly, with prompts for each day. They will be tagged “prompt list” and the current one will be linked in this pinned post each month.
My prompts are meant to be usable for both writers and visual artists and welcome both original work and fanwork (unless otherwise specified by a given theme). If you do some other kind of art—music, fiber art, soapmaking, dance—and can see a way to use these prompts as well, you are more than welcome to do so!
I encourage you, dear fellow creatives, to have a go at any prompts that strike your fancy, without worrying about committing to the whole month if that’s more than you can manage right now. Goodness knows I won’t be able to fill all my own prompts. Skip days, start late, do prompts from August in January, whatever works for you. I want this to be fun!

A ficlet for @fandomwithbenefits Spoiled For Choice ‘conversations in the dark’, and for @thepromptfoundry Trope Fl!p Fest 'too hot for human contact’, though I’m about ten days late for that now… 500 words, rated T, no warnings apply!
Quietly hurrying into the hallway, the only convenient door Phryne spots is the one to the coat closet. Well, in the current weather, it’s unlikely that the homeowner will open it.
“Come on!” She hisses at Jack, who is rather reluctant to follow. “You’re not supposed to be here either, now are you?”
Finally secure in the closed closet, Phryne breathes out a quiet sigh of relief… and carefully reached up to wipe the sweat from her forehead. Oh, what a sweltering hot day!
It seems they haven’t hidden a minute too soon, as seconds later the clacking footsteps of the potential murderess sound in the hallway. A door opens, closes. Next to Phryne, Jack shifts, about to say something - when the door opens again and the woman walks back through the hallway.
This time, they are more hesitant to move once she is gone, not quite trusting the quiet just yet. Still, they won’t be able to hide in there forever, and not only because they might get caught…
Usually, Phryne would delight in any opportunity to get close and personal to the detective inspector - but right now it’s simply too bloody hot! Her elbow is touching his side, and that point of contact is already scorching, and sadly not because of any erotic sensations but rather solely because she’d like to jump into the sea to cool down her poor overheating body right about now!
“Jack,” Phryne hisses. “Jack!”
“I’m sorry?” Jack looks up from where he had been staring at the small line of light between the closet doors as if entranced.
Phryne huffs. “Has the heat affected you this much? What’s the plan?"
"Right. The heat.” Jack clears his throat, tries to inch away from Phryne but only makes their arms touch instead.
Phryne smirks. “Well, I know the temperature isn’t improving this situation, but I can’t say I’m entirely unaffected from being in these close quarters with you, inspector…”
“Miss Fisher!"
Beaming, Phryne leans more heavily against Jack’s side for a moment, even though the warmth really is stifling.
She pulls away before Jack can admonish her again. "So, my dear inspector, what do you say we make our way towards the front door, and if we get caught on the way we can say that we have just arrived and are just parched, if she could spare us a glass of water…"
"If they have heard anything about you, they would definitely believe that you are brazen enough to walk into a complete stranger’s house to ask for a drink, and without even knocking,” Jack sighs. “So I suppose that might as well work.”
“Jack! It’s a heatwave, we’re just asking for water, not raiding the liquor cabinet! And -” a noise somewhere in the house, and Phryne instinctive lowers her voice to a whisper - “and of course we knocked first, but when no-one answered… You see, we were quite desperate for some refreshments, can’t you tell by the state of us?”
After a moment’s hesitation, Jack nods. “Alright. What are we waiting for?"
For the @fandomwithbenefits prompt ‘praise’, here’s another fic I wrote a couple weeks ago and kept as a backup for my November daily fic challenge! It was initially started for the prompt 'home’ by@nachdenklich-tj, so I thought about them coming home tipsy :)

It’s any regular day in in flat 203 at 56b in Whitehaven Mansions, home to monsieur Hercule Poirot and more often than not to his long time friend and companion, one Captain Arthur Hastings.
The two men in question are standing by the kitchen sink, washing and drying dishes in a most well-practiced teamwork, Hastings washing the dishes as he does not mind the task and Poirot would prefer not to get his hands uncomfortably wet and dirty, and Poirot drying them, always using the task as an opportunity to check whether Hastings has cleaned them in accordance to his exacting standards - something that isn’t always the case, especially when Hastings gets side-tracked by their conversation.
Poirot never really minds, just hands the plate or saucer or teacup back to him, enjoying their talks too much to wish for Hastings to solely focus on the task at hand.
Neither does Hastings mind the wordless correction - he knows how particular Poirot is in, well, all things really, he understands that it is not personal. And truly, what is so bad about cleaning a plate a second or even third time, if it is done with the person whose company he enjoys most in the world by his side?

Summary:
Abigail takes advantage of laundry day to indulge her curiosity.
Most of the things Steve had missed about Bucky were the big things. Not being able to see his best friend or talk to him except for a single hour every other day. Knowing he always ran the risk of getting into a fight every day he spent around other inmates. Worrying over his mental state while he was in isolation.
But after Bucky came home, Steve realized that in some ways, what he’d missed most were all the little things he hadn’t really thought about. The sound of Bucky’s deep breathing when he was fast asleep. The smell of his shampoo and aftershave that lingered in the bathroom after his shower. The sound of his laughter from the other room, accompanied by Jake’s happy giggles. The chair at the table that was no longer empty.
There were other things he hadn’t realized he’d missed once Bucky got a replacement for his metal arm. Things he hadn’t been able to do with just one arm. Like the hugs Steve had grown to love back when he knew him only as Winter—one side warm and strong, the other cold and unyielding. Or all the little things Bucky was finally able to do for himself again without any trouble or outside help, like pulling his hair back into a ponytail or buttoning his shirt. He hadn’t minded helping Bucky out when he needed it; on the contrary, he loved being able to finally take care of him again. But it was good for both of them to see him becoming more and more self-sufficient.
Then there were the things they could do together again. Bucky’s missing arm hadn’t really gotten in the way of most of the things they did together; Steve could pick up whatever slack resulted from Bucky being down to one arm. But there were a few things Bucky just hadn’t been able to participate in with just one hand.
Like washing the dishes. With only one hand, it was a lot more complicated to scrub pots or dry glasses, so most of the time his job was just to gather up the dirty dishes and then wipe down the table and counters, and Steve and Jake would handle the rest. Sometimes Bucky would help put the dishes away after Jake had dried them.
But once he had two hands again, Bucky could pitch in like he’d done before. In fact, that had been one of the activities the physical therapist had recommended to help him acclimate to the metal arm again, after going without for over a year. So once more, they could stand side-by-side at the sink, one of them washing and the other drying, just like old times.
Sometimes, when they had Sam over, Steve got a sudden rush of deja vu for the days in the cabin. Bucky moved with the same care, making sure his metal fingers didn’t scratch the dishes or crush fragile glasses. Sam still teased him and splashed him with soapy water. The only difference was Jake piping up with questions and comments, or climbing on top of the counter to put mugs away and then crowing that he was taller than all of them.
Over the years, Steve had learned not to take moments like these for granted. He treasured every single one.

When Serena gets home she finds Bernie in the garden, her back to her, in shorts and a shirt, long legs on display.
As she steps outside, Bernie turns around causing Serena to almost swallow her tongue. The flannel shirt is open, and the only thing Bernie is wearing underneath is a bra, offering Serena a great look at her sweaty body. Her belly clenches, and her arousal must show on her face because Bernie is by her side in three quick steps.
A second later, Serena has her hands in Bernie’s hair and her mouth on those delectable collarbones.
“Glitter, rainbows and flannel, the perfect lesbian outfit! And don’t say that this is another case of television getting it wrong – I looked up pictures from past pride events.”
“I didn’t say you got it wrong!” Myka can feel her cheeks heat, and knows it’s only a matter of time until Helena notices –
“Ohh. You like this look then, darling, is that it?” Looking quite smug, Helena stalks towards her.
…Myka can’t deny that she enjoys the feeling of flannel against her skin – though not as much as that of Helena’s lips pressed against hers.

Careful hands help slide her arms through the sleeves of her button-up, a gentle touch on her neck brushes her hair out from under the collar. Bernie might have hated it with anyone else helping her, seeing her this weak and dependent, but it’s Serena who is helping her up and waiting for her to catch her balance before she leads her over to the armchair without comment, who picks out clothes that will be easier to change into than skinny jeans and t-shirts but still let her keep some of her dignity… It’s Serena, and that makes all of it bearable.
