“Well, what are you going to do about it, mum?” Elinor asks, already bored by the discussion of her mother’s non-existent love life.

“Sorry? I - no, I won’t do anything, I don’t even know whether she likes me back!”

“Well, she’s not some guy who’s going to throw himself at you, women expect the dude to ask them out so you’re just going to have to take the initiative or you’re stuck in a sad lesbian standoff.”

“…I’m not sure whether to be grateful for your advice or sad about the state of feminism, daughter mine!”

Quietly hurrying into the hallway, the only convenient door Phryne spots is the one to the coat closet. Well, in the current weather, it’s unlikely that the homeowner will open it.

“Come on!” She hisses at Jack, who is rather reluctant to follow. “You’re not supposed to be here either, now are you?”

Finally secure in the closed closet, Phryne breathes out a quiet sigh of relief… and carefully reached up to wipe the sweat from her forehead. Oh, what a sweltering hot day! 

It seems they haven’t hidden a minute too soon, as seconds later the clacking footsteps of the potential murderess sound in the hallway. A door opens, closes. Next to Phryne, Jack shifts, about to say something - when the door opens again and the woman walks back through the hallway. 

This time, they are more hesitant to move once she is gone, not quite trusting the quiet just yet. Still, they won’t be able to hide in there forever, and not only because they might get caught…

Usually, Phryne would delight in any opportunity to get close and personal to the detective inspector - but right now it’s simply too bloody hot! Her elbow is touching his side, and that point of contact is already scorching, and sadly not because of any erotic sensations but rather solely because she’d like to jump into the sea to cool down her poor overheating body right about now!

“Jack,” Phryne hisses. “Jack!”

“I’m sorry?” Jack looks up from where he had been staring at the small line of light between the closet doors as if entranced.

Phryne huffs. “Has the heat affected you this much? What’s the plan?" 

"Right. The heat.” Jack clears his throat, tries to inch away from Phryne but only makes their arms touch instead.

Phryne smirks. “Well, I know the temperature isn’t improving this situation, but I can’t say I’m entirely unaffected from being in these close quarters with you, inspector…”

“Miss Fisher!" 

Beaming, Phryne leans more heavily against Jack’s side for a moment, even though the warmth really is stifling.

She pulls away before Jack can admonish her again. "So, my dear inspector, what do you say we make our way towards the front door, and if we get caught on the way we can say that we have just arrived and are just parched, if she could spare us a glass of water…" 

"If they have heard anything about you, they would definitely believe that you are brazen enough to walk into a complete stranger’s house to ask for a drink, and without even knocking,” Jack sighs. “So I suppose that might as well work.”

“Jack! It’s a heatwave, we’re just asking for water, not raiding the liquor cabinet! And -” a noise somewhere in the house, and Phryne instinctive lowers her voice to a whisper - “and of course we knocked first, but when no-one answered… You see, we were quite desperate for some refreshments, can’t you tell by the state of us?”

After a moment’s hesitation, Jack nods. “Alright. What are we waiting for?"

For the @comfy-vember prompt ‘washing dishes together’, and @fandomwithbenefits Spoiled For Choice 'anticipating their moves’, here’s a double-drabble about Poirot and the Hastings from the Agatha Christie’s Poirot TV series, inspired by episode 1.04 'The ABC Murders’.

It’s any regular day in in flat 203 at 56b in Whitehaven Mansions, home to monsieur Hercule Poirot and more often than not to his long time friend and companion, one Captain Arthur Hastings.

The two men in question are standing by the kitchen sink, washing and drying dishes in a most well-practiced teamwork, Hastings washing the dishes as he does not mind the task and Poirot would prefer not to get his hands uncomfortably wet and dirty, and Poirot drying them, always using the task as an opportunity to check whether Hastings has cleaned them in accordance to his exacting standards - something that isn’t always the case, especially when Hastings gets side-tracked by their conversation.

Poirot never really minds, just hands the plate or saucer or teacup back to him, enjoying their talks too much to wish for Hastings to solely focus on the task at hand.

Neither does Hastings mind the wordless correction - he knows how particular Poirot is in, well, all things really, he understands that it is not personal. And truly, what is so bad about cleaning a plate a second or even third time, if it is done with the person whose company he enjoys most in the world by his side?

“Glitter, rainbows and flannel, the perfect lesbian outfit! And don’t say that this is another case of television getting it wrong – I looked up pictures from past pride events.”

“I didn’t say you got it wrong!” Myka can feel her cheeks heat, and knows it’s only a matter of time until Helena notices –

“Ohh. You like this look then, darling, is that it?” Looking quite smug, Helena stalks towards her.

…Myka can’t deny that she enjoys the feeling of flannel against her skin – though not as much as that of Helena’s lips pressed against hers.

Careful hands help slide her arms through the sleeves of her button-up, a gentle touch on her neck brushes her hair out from under the collar. Bernie might have hated it with anyone else helping her, seeing her this weak and dependent, but it’s Serena who is helping her up and waiting for her to catch her balance before she leads her over to the armchair without comment, who picks out clothes that will be easier to change into than skinny jeans and t-shirts but still let her keep some of her dignity… It’s Serena, and that makes all of it bearable.

Hi! I just saw that one of the days still open for prompts has ‚recovery‘ in it (18th, I think it was). I‘d love it if you could do a Berena fic set in the year after Bernie was rescued from captivity and is recovering with Serena. Since know one else knew, she must have told the army only to contact Serena. I‘d love to read about their way back to each other through Serena now taking care of Bernie… Love your fics!

Hi, saw that you're still looking for a prompt for day 6 and I have two Mirandy prompts to offer:

1) Some time in the future, Andy writes Miranda a heartfelt letter where she apologizes to Miranda for leaving her in Paris but also making the reasons for her departure known. Either the story ends there or is continued a little where they clear the air and establish a new ground for their relationship.

2) Miranda is watching Andy do something and feels suddenly old. Andy knows just the way to make Miranda feel young again 😉. Established relationship?

“Oh please, Charlie! I’ll be the only one my age there, unless we’re counting my newest stepmom and I’d really rather not.”

“But you can’t just bring a random friend to your dad’s family thing!”

“Why not? Everybody else brings plus ones.”

“So you want us to pretend that we’re dating?”

“Ew, no! No, we’ll say you’re family too. Not that it’s much of a lie, at least once our mums finally get their heads out of their asses…?”

“Firstly, urgh did not need that metal image. Secondly, how the hell are you going to pretend that I’m family - to your family? They’ll obviously know it’s a lie!”

“Eh, there are so many cousins, and adopted and by marriage cousins, no one keeps track. We’ll just say you’re another one. It’s not like everyone’s there every meetup, I mean there are a couple who are close-ish in age and most of them aren’t going this time, I asked them in the cousin groupchat whether anyone’s going, that’s why I need you there in the first place! Oh, we can totally add you to the groupchat, they’re not going to rat us out.”

“Well, if you say so…”

Din sighs and leans the back of his head heavily against the wall, closing his eyes for a moment now that they’re in hyperspace. It has been a good week, bounty-wise – he won’t have to worry about feeding the kid with expired rations or questionable amphibians for a while – but now he is utterly exhausted.

“Buu?” There’s a rustling sound from underneath the console. Din hadn’t even realized that Grogu had crawled in there.

“Whatcha want, buddy?”

Grogu lifts up his arms for uppies, and as soon as Din has moved far enough away from the console for Grogu to fit, he launches himself up onto Din’s lap. “Patuu!”

“Hm? Grogu?”

Grogu’s pudgy hand reaches up and pats Din’s cheek, big dark eyes looking at him with a worried expression.

“I’m alright, kid, just tired. You don’t have to comfort me.”

Grogu makes a sound Din files somewhere between indignation and disbelief, and before he can keep reassuring the kid that he is fine, really, Grogu whacks his head against Din’s chest.

“Wha- oh.” Obligingly, Din bends down so Grogu can - more gently now - lean his forehead against Din’s helmet.

“Patuub.”

“Yeah, buddy. I’m glad you’re here, too.”

For the @polyshipweek Free Choice prompt, here’s another Leverage Ot3 continuation!

Eliot slowly looks from Parker to Hardison and back.

“… you’re not kidding.”

“Course not,” Parker rolls her eyes.

“We wouldn’t!” Hardison adds.

“Yeah!” Parker hops down from the counter. “We just thought maybe you’d like to date us, because we’d like to date you, and you did get me that cool evil flower…”

“I mean, just tell us if we’re completely off base here, but if you like us back…” Hardison does finger guns at Eliot.

Eliot slaps his hands away. “I should tell you no for that alone,” he says, but he’s almost-grinning, which is Eliot for real grinning. Parker whoops.

“You do like us back!”

Eliot doesn’t stumble when she hug-attacks him, which makes it less funny than when she does it to Hardison, but he picks her up so her legs dangle in the air, which is fun as well.

“…yeah. Guess I do.”

Hardison doesn’t need long to join the hug, wrapping his long arms around them both with a happy laugh. Parker giggles when his head pushes against her hair, tickling her chin. The way Eliot is holding her makes her taller than both of them.

After another moment of squishy hug, Eliot carefully sets her down. She’s still caught between him and Hardison but doesn’t mind at all when she sees Hardison lean in and she gets a close-up view of him pressing his lips to Eliot’s.

It’s a really good sight, except it does make her want to get a taste of Eliot’s lips as well, to compare them to Hardison’s and also just because she wants to in general… She tries to wait a bit, she really does, but Parker quickly gets impatient and leans up to press her lips against them.

Eliot makes a startled noise and Hardison breaks into giggles and snorts and has to pull away, which works out great for Parker because now she can kiss Eliot properly!

I think we can call this one finished! I’ll post it to Ao3 as one more cohesive whole soon (and maybe with another small bonus scene so stay tuned for that!), and of course I’ll still write other Leverage ot3 content :) let me know if you want to get notified when I post more!
