I do have a couple fic ideas that I never got around to writing here, but I’d also be happy with anything you come up with! I like hurt/comfort, mutual pining (but no easily avoidable misunderstandings pls), getting together, or just plain fluff :) Oh and I like ot3s! Especially Myka’s ex girlfriend cinematic universe, espesh with Amanda xD there are posts about that here and here! Pls first ask the ops whether it’s okay to take their ideas tho. Oh and if you want to write a Star Wars AU / fusion fic, I’d love that too!

7: a fic that uses a trope I love

The trope is time travel and the fic is what I’m currently reading: The Manda Provides by @bolithesenate :D I really love it, it’s chaotic in the most brilliant way!

8: a fic with an interesting premise/concept

A fable penned in ink and blood by @occams-painting-knife is such an amazing twilight AU and SIOC fic, the worldbuilding is way better than canon and the original character, her backstory and her struggles and character development during the story is really interesting! Can’t recommend this story enough :)

9: a fic from a book fandom

Everything Has Changed by @medusaslore - Funnily enough the first good book fic that comes to mind is het smut to a wlw book xD (the fic’s about the parents of the main characters) if you like historical romance I can recommend both the book and the fic to it!

what do you think about this new avorah book club or whatever it's called? just came across it here on tumblr (was going through the hacks tag). it's just...yet another thing to relocate discussion about fic and taking interaction away from ao3 as a platform, isn't it? people are already not writing comments or even leaving kudos. so this is just another way for them to be all """involved""" in fandom while literally taking the ONE reward that we get as writers away from us. i'm not saying people won't leave comments on avorah fics anymore, especially considering this is a *book* thing meaning they will likely not look at oneshots at all, but it's certainly...not promising. like, if i'm enthusiastically talking on discord, why WOULD i then go back and write a comment, ya know? cause i've already written down my thoughts for...the discord server. am i being irrationally annoyed at this? i don't think so. it's just...so frustrating

Okay before I go into detail on why I think this isn’t the case in this specific case: I absolutely understand where you’re coming from and why you’re frustrated! Fics do seem to get less and less engagement, and fandom is supposed to be a community, why share fics if no-one reacts to them? It sucks. And I’ve definitely gotten into my fair share of discussions/arguments in other discord servers with people who talk about fics on discord without commenting and/or who share funny quotes from fics without actually sharing the fic links… Especially in big fandoms with lots of fandom newbies -_- but yeah I don’t think this is what’s happening with the Hacks server!

While I’m in the server I haven’t interacted with the ‘book club’ section of it, just the normal channels because basically the other Avorah server more or less migrated into this one and the usual ship and watchparty channels are on there too now, so take my info with a grain of salt o.o

I think what they’re doing is taking turns discussing their/each other’s fic? There are lots of fic writers in the server… so I’d also hope that if they do discuss fics from someone else who isn’t in the server, they’re fandom savvy enough to know to also leave comments or maybe ask first whether the authors want to have their fics discussed… but like I said I’m not actually a part of this, I’ve got those channels muted because I’m really bad at reading on a schedule, so I’d just end up with fic spoilers xD

Personally when I hear about a fic being recced on discord I’m more likely to check it out even when I’m not currently on a reading binge in that fandom, and I’ll then comment - and I’ll share fic links on discord of my own favs after commenting. So I think that’s an addition to comments, not taking away from it… But of course only if people do it that way.

The people in the discord are also really nice, so feel free to join in and maybe talk about your concerns as a writer with the people running the book club part of things, I’m sure they’ll be happy to talk about it!

Hi, saw that you're still looking for a prompt for day 6 and I have two Mirandy prompts to offer:

1) Some time in the future, Andy writes Miranda a heartfelt letter where she apologizes to Miranda for leaving her in Paris but also making the reasons for her departure known. Either the story ends there or is continued a little where they clear the air and establish a new ground for their relationship.

2) Miranda is watching Andy do something and feels suddenly old. Andy knows just the way to make Miranda feel young again 😉. Established relationship?

Thank you for the prompt! This was super fun to write, and I hope you enjoyed the story even though you got an unexpected crossover o.o I did think about writing something more canon compliant with the chanel boots or something, but the inspiration for the combination with Warehouse13 was just stronger xD (and I can only recommend watching Warehouse 13. And Leverage as well, they both belong to my favorite TV shows!)
