Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov (also known as Butterfly) (born October 13, 2007) is a Russian player who is currently playing for PARIVISION on loan from Team Spirit.
Biography
[edit]Early beginnings in Southeast Asia
[edit]Satanic was born in Tatarstan, Russia. He moved to Vietnam at the age of 6, living in a Russian community. At the age of 7, he began playing Dota 2 after being introduced to it by his brother, and Satanic became instantly hooked on the game, playing it all the time, and neglecting his studies to do so.[1] By early 2023, he had breached the 10,000 and 11,000 MMR milestones, and reached the upper levels of the Southeast Asia leaderboard.[2] He made his competitive debut in the Southeast Asia qualifiers in the Dota Pro Circuit, reaching the latter stages of the open qualifiers but failing to progress.
Yellow Submarine
[edit]Later in 2023, he moved to Serbia to join Yellow Submarine,[2] alleviating his mother's concern at her son's hobby.[1] On February 17, 2024, he became the youngest player to reach 13,000 MMR, and reached the top of the European leaderboard soon after.[3] In professional matches, Satanic and his team quickly showed promise, with a top-6 finish in Pinnacle: 25 Year Anniversary Show, and consistently reaching the latter stages of open qualifiers, beating more-established players multiple times. In the Elite League: Eastern Europe Closed Qualifier, Satanic and Yellow Submarine reached the Grand Finals, beating 1win and 9Pandas along the way, but their inexperience showed as they lost to 9Pandas in the Grand Final.
In April 2024, during the Elite League Swiss Stage, Satanic stood-in for Aurora's 23 against Team Secret in a 2-1 win, helping Aurora progress to Group Stage 2.[4] He continued standing-in for 23 for Aurora's initial Group Stage 2 series, helping them secure a 2-0 win over Blacklist International and 1-1 draws against BOOM Esports and Gaimin Gladiators.
Towards the end of the season, Yellow Submarine were one of the dark horses in the qualifiers for Riyadh Masters and The International; however, Eastern Europe only had one qualifier slot in both qualifiers, and Yellow Submarine would face tough opposition from the likes of Virtus.pro, Natus Vincere and 1win. In the Riyadh Masters qualifiers, 1win unexpectedly crushed Yellow Submarine in the first round, with Satanic ineffective, knocking them down to the Lower Bracket immediately. However, he and the team recovered strongly in the Lower Bracket, getting their revenge over 1win in the Lower Bracket Semifinal (including one 73-minute win on Meepo). In the Lower Bracket Final, however, they were eliminated by Natus Vincere, with Yuragi proving to be too strong. Moving to The International qualifiers, Yellow Submarine instead started strongly, beating L1GA TEAM and 9Pandas, before falling to 1win. In the Lower Bracket Final, Yellow Submarine and 9Pandas fought a back-and-forth series, with both teams stomping each other in games 1 and 2. In game 3, however, Satanic's inexperience showed, as they lost a key teamfight just as the Aegis of the Immortal was expiring, causing them to lose all momentum, and eventually the match and series.
Later that month, in June 2024, Satanic and Yellow Submarine put their disappointment behind them by qualifying to Elite League Season 2 with a 3-2 win over 1win, despite a game 4 technical loss due to a misclick. This marked Satanic's first time at a major tournament (not as a stand-in).
Team Spirit and PARIVISION
[edit]In September 2024, Satanic and Yellow Submarine teammate rue joined Team Spirit, replacing Yatoro and Mira.[5] Despite several excellent performances and promising placements, including 3rd at DreamLeague Season 24, he found himself moved to the substitute role, with the return of Yatoro.[6] He then moved to PARIVISION on loan, with Crystallis being moved to the inactive roster in exchange.
Trivia
[edit]- Reached 13,000 MMR on February 17, 2024.[9] At 16 years and 128 days, he was the youngest known player ever to reach this milestone, until it was broken by NAVI Junior's Niku at 15 years and 140 days.[10]
- Reached 16,000 MMR on January 22, 2025.[11]
