[𝕱𝖎𝖗𝖘𝖙 𝕬𝖗𝖙 𝕮𝖔𝖚𝖗𝖘𝖊 𝖎𝖘 𝖚𝖕 𝖔𝖓 𝕻𝖆𝖙𝖗𝖊𝖔𝖓 (𝕱𝖗𝖊𝖊 & 𝕻𝖆𝖞𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝕿𝖎𝖊𝖗𝖘) & 𝕳𝖊𝖆𝖑𝖙𝖍 𝖀𝖕𝖉𝖆𝖙𝖊!!]

Hi Beasties!!!🖤🖤🖤

A small health update + something I’ve been quietly working on for a bit: I finally launched my first art course, The Rotting Sketchbook (Specific Art Tips Series for basics!), as part of Black Candle Studio (General Art Courses Group) on my Patreon!!!!

This first course is about color palettes (how to find them, how to steal them (legally), how to build them when your brain is empty, and how to make colors feel intentional instead of intimidating) and it’s got a bunch of color theory thingies and tips in there!!

Most of the course is free for Wraithlings, and the rest is available for Lumos & Aether members!!!

Now, onto the health update! I also wanted to explain why I’ve been a bit quieter!! TW: skin stuff / BFRBs

Two days ago I was officially cleared from cadmium poisoning (yes, for real 😭), but I’m still being monitored by doctors for ongoing skin and nerve-related issues. Between appointments, caregiving, exams season coming up, food issues, and meds that make me really sleepy/sick, I haven’t been as present or active as I’d like!

Long story short: my body is screaming for a break (hasn’t had one since like…. JUNE?????), and I’m finally listening (kind of) because I don’t really have a choice right now- X’D

If you’re curious/concerned, here’s what’s happening: I deal with BFRBs (basically “body-focused repetitive behavior” like hair-pulling and skin-picking) which flare up with stress, along with SINP (stress-induced neurogenic pruritus, a fancy way of saying my skin itches itself to death when I’m stressed).

I’m still adjusting to meds and topical stuff because, yeah… creams alone are not enough for what my body’s doing right now. Add in stress flare-ups, joint cramps, hair pulling, bruises from how hard I grip my limbs, hair pulling, and skin picking, and you get… me, currently negotiating peace with my own limbs.

Evenings are worse, flare-ups come and go, but I’m managing, being careful, and focusing on resting when I can, changing food, changing habits etc. I promise I’m getting back to everyone and catching up on things, I just need to pace myself so I don’t make it worse! Soon, I’m also supposed to get short-term nerve-calming meds and probs getting the whole holy trinity (liver, kidneys, thyroid) checked if this keeps happening/gets worse.

Nothing you need to fix, just me being human and asking for patience a bit, please. Thanks for being cool!!🖤

This is, regrettably, another announcement. I would say it’s the last one, but that would be a lie and I respect you too much for that.

Okaaaaaayyy, announcement time: I’m officially starting a monthly NSFW art series this year, and yes, I am very aware that I keep convincing myself this is somehow more scandalous than half the things I’ve written before (including +15k words of radiation-induced ghoul sex), but hear me out.

Tumblr will only ever get cropped or snipped previews because I like consent, I don’t enjoy jumpscaring people on their dash, and also because I like my head exactly where it is (thank you very much). The full pieces, plus additional NSFW sketches, will live on Patreon where everyone is very much opting in on purpose, which is great because no god, no guillotine, and certainly no terms of service can keep me from drawing blorbos, NPCs, and canonical-but-wrong characters doing things that would make history frown. This is me being calm, self-aware, and extremely normal about drawing horny art, despite the fact that I’m laughing to myself while thinking “this was a stroke… of pure artistic luck”, making dozens of sexual innuendos and also maybe considering whether the guillotine would approve of my compositional choices.

To make this fun and interactive, there will be two polls for each month: the first one to decide which fandom we’re tormenting—I mean, exploring—and the second to decide which character(s) will get the honor of starring in the full NSFW piece. That way, the people have spoken, I get to panic responsibly, and everyone is slightly complicit in my eventual artistic demise. Tumblr will get the cute, cropped previews because boundaries are sexy, while Patreon will get the full version with all the extra sketches, bonus bad decisions, and approximately three times more chaos than is reasonable for one artist to be held accountable for.

The series itself will have a working title for now: “Hands-On Studies: Canon-Adjacent Misconduct”, because it’s descriptive, slightly horrifying, and also wink-wink. Each month, the subtitle will change depending on the fandom, the characters, or how guilty I feel at the moment, so you can expect things like “Hands-On Studies: The Fade Is Very Persuasive” or “Hands-On Studies: Cullen Didn’t Sign Up for This,” or, if I really lose my mind, “Hands-On Studies: No God, No Guillotine, Still Drawing.”

Anyway, I am fully aware that I am probably overthinking this while simultaneously very proud of myself, so welcome to 2026, where I will be posting horny art responsibly, panicking slightly, and pretending this is all entirely normal. If I lose my head over it, at least it will be done in style.

ANYWAY- Here is the first poll!! We get to pick the fandom beasties!

Okay. First of all. Apologies for the sudden disappearance. Turns out my very glamorous November/ December “food poisoning + stress” arc was actually cadmium poisoning, brought to you by some truly fuckass chocolates. Love that for me. I am alive, I am on meds, and my body has decided to stop trying to speedrun its own demise.

Life did what life does, I was not as active as I wanted to be, I missed the Rolan week (I am still grieving), I did not make a Mimicmas ending post/not as many pieces, and December generally chose violence. But! I am back, slightly more metallic-free (metal in both my playlists AND body), and ready to make terrible artistic decisions again!

Now. The important part!!!

You voted. Loudly. Passionately. With your whole chest.

Final results (41 votes):
Baldur’s Gate 3 — 51.2%
Dragon Age: Inquisition — 48.8%

Which means BG3 wins by a hair, a fingernail, a single illithid wrinkle. Democracy has spoken. I obey reluctantly but enthusiastically.

SO. It is time for Round Two: Pick Your Victim.

New poll: Who gets the first piece?

  • Abdirak (Yes, that Abdirak. You know why you’re here.)
  • Zevlor (Tired. Stressed. One bad day away from something unholy.)
  • Mizora (You know why.)

This is me, once again, being the worst saleswoman imaginable and asking you to actively participate in my downfall. Choose wisely. Or don’t. I clearly never do.

Thank you for your patience, your votes, and for not asking too many follow-up questions about the cadmium situation. The art queue is waking up. The blorbos are unsafe again. And I promise to disappear next time for something way cooler, like being possessed by the Fade.

Poll below. You know what to do!!!😌

Which character would you like to see for the NSFW Patreon piece (BG3 Edition) this month?

Abdirak

Zevlor

Mizora

[𝕺𝖐𝖆𝖞 𝕾𝖔! 𝕬𝖗𝖙 𝕭𝖗𝖆𝖎𝖓 𝕿𝖎𝖒𝖊 🖤✨]

So! A little while ago I asked if the local creature of the night (me) should teach you her forbidden arts. You answered. Loudly. Enthusiastically. With teeth.

And I have, unfortunately for everyone involved, taken notes!!

I’m planning to start making proper art tutorials and breakdowns for Patreon this year as I mentioned earlier, the kind that actually shows the how and the why, not just “trust the process” (derogatory).

Like step-by-step breakdowns, messy layers, bad sketches included, and explanations that don’t assume you were born holding a stylus/paintbrush/pencil.

Before I commit to a whole schedule though, I wanted to ask: what do you actually want to see first?

Because I’d rather make things that are useful, fun, and inspiring instead of screaming into the void alone.

If you’re into any of the following (or something adjacent), let me know (asks, comments or anything)!!👀👇

hey! i read your post about commission payment delays, and honestly i think you should expose clients who refuse to pay or keep dodging artists. it would really help protect the community and warn other artists. especially smaller ones who can’t afford to get burned.

obviously only if you feel safe doing so, but i really think it matters. thank you for speaking up regardless

Hey Anon!!! First of all, thank you for taking the time to say this so thoughtfully!!! I genuinely get where you’re coming from, and you’re not wrong to be worried about artists getting burned, especially smaller ones who can’t afford to lose time, energy, or money! Non-payment is a real issue, and it does hurt people.

On one side, I absolutely agree with you: clients who dodge payment, stall endlessly, or straight-up vanish cause real harm, and there is a lack of accountability in creative spaces sometimes. It’s exhausting, demoralizing, and it happens far too often. Artists deserve to be paid for their labor, full stop!

But on the other side… it’s complicated.

Public callouts can very quickly turn into witch hunts, pile-ons, or misinformation spirals, even when the original intent is protection. Not every situation is as clean-cut as “evil client refuses to pay,” and once names are out there, you can’t really control where that goes or how it escalates.

Also, not all non-payment situations look the same, and lumping them together can get messy. There are many types of situations and their clients. For example:

  • There’s The Ghost: completely disappears. Leaves no trace. Might as well be vapor.
  • There’s The Schrödinger Client: online everywhere except in your DMs. Somehow still posting, liking, breathing, but refuses to pay.
  • There’s The Houdini: vanishes right after you finish the work, but miraculously reappears weeks later with “oh hey, remember me?”
  • There’s The Eternal Negotiator: constantly haggling, changing terms mid-process, like you’re bargaining for a dragon’s hoard instead of a sketch.
  • There’s The NFT Excuse: claims “I only have crypto” or some weird payment method that’s either fake or impossible, and then disappears.
  • There’s The Emotional Rollercoaster: apologies, sob stories, guilt-trips, self-blame… but no actual money. Bonus points if they make you feel like a villain for asking. Even though they may even have commissioned someone else in the meantime and paid them.
  • There’s The Two-Week-Project Projector: commissions a project that was promised in two weeks… and then casually stretches it into months while posting sneak peeks of your work elsewhere.
  • There’s The Mysterious Vanishing Act: active everywhere except where they’re supposed to pay you. Blocks, unblocks, disappears, reappears. Like a glitch in reality.
  • There’s The “I Thought It Was Free”: insists that the work should be gifted or donated… despite explicit agreements.
  • And then, rarely, there are cases where something genuinely happened (emergencies, financial crashes, etc.), and the line between malice and circumstance isn’t always obvious from the outside.

That doesn’t excuse non-payment, but it does mean that public exposure isn’t always the safest or fairest tool, especially when you’re an individual artist without legal backing. For a lot of us, naming names can invite harassment, retaliation, or legal threats we simply don’t have the bandwidth to deal with. Especially since “cliques” can be created and make things worse than they are.

Also, I want to be clear about something: I don’t mind delays. Life is chaotic, and I get that. Hell, I’m the first one to say “hey, things are a bit wild on my side, there might be a delay” when needed!!! Communication goes a long way. If someone talks to me, we can always figure things out!!

Personally, I think the most sustainable way to protect artists is:

  • Encouraging contracts, deposits, and clear boundaries
  • Sharing advice, resources, and support with each other
  • And normalizing saying “no” or walking away sooner

Honestly, part of my hesitation is also just… the state of some art spaces already. Certain platforms (looking at Twitter, TikTok, etc.) are already incredibly hostile, reactive, and quick to dogpile. The last thing we need is to add more fuel to environments that thrive on outrage, half-context, and public shaming as entertainment.

I’ve seen too many situations where a valid concern turns into a spectacle, and suddenly it’s not about protecting artists anymore tbh, it’s about who can yell the loudest, who gets dragged the hardest, and who becomes the next target. That doesn’t actually make the community safer, it just makes it scarier to exist in and NO ONE wants that.

I’d rather focus on sharing knowledge, warning signs, and tools that help artists protect themselves without turning every issue into a public execution. We don’t need to recreate courtroom drama on platforms that already reward cruelty and chaos.

Anon I hear you, and I really appreciate the care behind your message!! I just try to balance community safety with not unleashing something that can hurt the wrong people (including myself). Speaking up about the issue matters a lot, even if the solution isn’t always public exposure.

[That christmas french supermarket Wolf add]

Listen Linda, listen… as a french artist? in this cursed era where ai is out here trying to steal everybody’s bread, butter, girlfriend and side of fries, seeing a handmade animation ad drop feels like watching the sun break through grey parisian rainclouds???????

The new intermarché wolf ad?? I saw that thing and instantly grew three new freckles out of national pride. I cried. Like a damn baby. Like yes, feed me hand-drawn frames, feed me actual human artists labor, feed me french artists animating wolves having emotions. My soul did a little sauté in the pan, just like his onions.

It’s just so SWEET. So real. So… “we paid actual artists for this” coded. And in a world where half the internet is generated by a toaster with an inferiority complex? that’s refreshing as hell.

And seriously, a big merci to the artists who poured their hearts, wrists, and probably three litres of coffee into this animation. It’s the kind of work that reminds you there are real people behind the magic, people who care, people who craft and it SHOWS. If you haven’t already, go give them some love, hype them up, scream about their talent a little. Handmade art survives because we see it, we celebrate it, and we support the humans who make it shine. Thank you so so so much Illogic Studios!!!! T-T💕🐺✨
