Fully verified email list, terminated with no refund

I imported our member list from Memberful to help with emailing our subscribers. Instead of letting me know they had flagged our email list, they terminated my account and offered no refund, despite the account being active for only 2 days. They have no way to contact them or dispute it. The worst service I have ever used.

No Communication

Hello,

I am writing regarding the ongoing review and suspension of my email sending account. I provided the requested information and have received no response, update, or timeline since.

Due to the continued lack of communication and the resulting disruption to my business operations, I am discontinuing my use of MailerLite effective today. Email is a critical business function, and the indefinite pause on my account, without follow-up, has made it necessary to move my sending operations elsewhere to maintain continuity.

I understand and respect the need for anti-spam compliance. However, suspending service without timely communication or resolution is not workable for my business.

If this review can be resolved immediately, I am open to reconsidering. Otherwise, please consider this notice that I am proceeding with alternative providers as of today.

MailerLite is a heavy disaster.

I've delayed writing this review for a few months hoping things would improve. They haven’t.

Whoever created this platform clearly doesn't use it. For instance, the site editor has no save button, so you have to click "done editing," which kicks you completely out of the editor and then requires you to click back in to continue working. And no, there's no autosave either. When I contacted support about this obvious flaw, they told me it was "expected user behavior."

The Campaign Editor is equally broken. It has a "save settings" button, but it's unclear if that saves everything or just the section you're on. So once again you're clicking "done editing" and starting the whole re-entry process over.

Want to make text bigger? You can't just increase the size by selecting from a drop down menu like in Gmail, Photoshop, Word, etc. You have to select Header 2 or Header 3, which tells you nothing about their size and erases all your formatting.

Want to add an image? You’d think by clicking on the image container itself would work, but that actually changes the “background”. Instead, you have to hunt for a tiny hidden icon floating above up top.

And then there's the Campaign Editor’s navigation nightmare where clicking "back" actually takes you forward, which traps you in a loop until you spot the tiny X buried in the corner. Apparently "back" meaning "forward" is also expected user behavior.

Setting up automations was the final straw. I was told to select a form from a dropdown menu, and three options appeared even though I've only created one form, and none of them actually matched its name!

I checked the help section multiple times but found nothing useful. I figured I could reach chat support since I'm paying for this service, but apparently my account tier doesn't qualify. I then tried finding their contact page, which they've deliberately buried, and when I finally located the "contact us" button it didn't work. It just took me to my dashboard. No surprise there.

MailerLite is a heavy disaster. The people building it clearly don't use it; the support is worthless, and basic functions are either missing or designed backwards.

UPDATE: Notice how in their response below they act as though they would "truly appreciate the chance to look into the specific issues..." to "see how we can improve them." That type of reply may make them look like they care, but the reality is that they've already had numerous chances and either didn't take them, or if they did, merely doubled-down on their poor platform practices.

So, no. No more chances. That ship has sailed.

Test email limitation, amazing bad

You're in the middle of a campaign, sending out sales emails. You send yourself a few test emails, but it won't let you send any more, saying "too many attempts." That's a joke in 2026.

When a great platform no longer fits

As a long-term customer, I would like to share some concerns regarding the transition from MailerLite Classic to the new MailerLite platform.

We have been using MailerLite since the early days of our business, and it has played a significant role in our growth. MailerLite supported us when we were just getting started, and helped us scale our newsletters to the point where we doubled our revenue. We certainly did not get here without MailerLite, and for that we are genuinely grateful.

That said, since the introduction of the “new” MailerLite, our experience has become less positive. While it is no longer new and has been around for quite some time now, we are still using MailerLite Classic for several very straightforward reasons.

First, the pricing difference is difficult to justify. We are currently paying €23 per month (billed annually, €280 per year) on MailerLite Classic. The new MailerLite would cost us €43 per month (billed annually, €516 per year), while our number of subscribers and e-mails remain exactly the same. Paying nearly double for our current use case simply does not feel reasonable.

Second, PayPal has never been an available payment option for the new MailerLite. We waited for over a year in the hope that this would change, but eventually stopped checking. Although we now have access to a credit card, this issue contributed to the overall feeling that the transition was not fully thought through for existing customers.

Finally, continuing on MailerLite Classic increasingly feels like standing on a sinking boat — one that could be discontinued at any moment. Especially as MailerLite has not received any bugfixes ever since. At the same time, the new MailerLite effectively forces us to look for alternative platforms, simply because the pricing and transition conditions do not align with our needs.

As you may recognize, this is not about paying €20 more or less. This is about building a business on an unpredictable infrastructure. I would not like to imagine having 100.000+ subscribers and suddenly having to pay double the price on that scale. We truly value MailerLite and would prefer to stay, but the current situation makes that increasingly difficult.

Although major decissions have already been made by MailerLite, I hope you take this feedback into consideration. Especially for long-term customers who helped build the platform, and who would still like to continue to scale up their lists.

Account suspended despite complying with their own anti-spam thresholds — no review, no refund

I had a very disappointing experience with MailerLite as a paying customer.

We paid €250 for an annual plan (2,500 subscribers), and our account was suspended without warning less than one month in. The stated reason was a generic “anti-spam policy violation,” but no specific campaign, list, or clause was ever identified — despite repeated requests.

What makes this especially concerning is that our campaign metrics were well within MailerLite’s own published anti-spam thresholds.

Two most recent campaigns before suspension:

• Campaign (7 Jan 2026)
– 1,109 emails sent
– 39.59% open rate
– 0% spam complaints
– 0.45% total bounces
– 0.63% unsubscribes

• Campaign (30 Dec 2025)
– 851 emails sent
– 40.42% open rate
– 0% spam complaints
– 0.24% total bounces
– 0.59% unsubscribes

MailerLite’s policy states suspension thresholds of >0.2% spam complaints, >5% bounces, >1% unsubscribes, or <3% open rate.
We did not breach any of these.

Despite this:

No warning was given

No consent evidence was requested (even though we offered it)

No investigation took place

No opportunity to clarify or remediate was provided

A refund for the unused annual service was refused

The response we received was purely templated: “decision is final.”

As an EU-based education organisation sending consent-based, informational content, this felt disproportionate and unfair. Retaining the full annual fee after early termination — without substantiated evidence — reflects very poorly on their customer and billing practices.

I would strongly caution other small businesses and education providers: even with strong engagement metrics and compliant sending behaviour, your account can be terminated without review and without refund.

Hackers

Apparently I breeched a term in the T&Cs unknowingly. Rather than informing me of the breech and just not allowing me to send the email, they immediately terminated my account without notice. And the worst part is that they didn't bother returning me my subscription fee. I litterally just paid for it about a month ago!

Account Suspended Without Warning - Money Not Refunded

I paid $39 for a 5,000 subscriber plan. My account was suspended after sending only 1,381 emails (used just 27% of the plan).

Final metrics before suspension:
- Open rate: 30.2% (417 opens out of 1,381)
- Clicks: 257 (18.6% click rate)
- CTOR: 61.63%
- Unsubscribes: 8 (0.58%)
- Spam complaints: 0

These are exceptional engagement numbers that clearly demonstrate legitimate, wanted content. The metrics continued improving for 2 days after sending (open rate grew from 26.6% to 30.2%), proving recipients actively wanted this content rather than ignoring or reporting it.

Despite this evidence of quality engagement, MailerLite:
❌ Suspended my account claiming "Terms of Service violation"
❌ Provided no warning or opportunity to clarify list source
❌ Refused refund for 73% unused service
❌ Stated decision is "final and cannot be appealed"

When I explained the context (MIPT alumni network, professional contacts, educational content) and showed these metrics, the billing department still denied any refund.

A 30% open rate and 0% spam complaint rate should be proof enough of legitimate usage. Taking payment upfront, then blocking an account with outstanding metrics while keeping the money, feels like poor business practice.

If you're sending to a legitimate professional network, consider alternatives that don't assume guilt first and keep your money regardless of evidence.

2nd review in reply - Dint Use Find Another Company who cares

I write again as I understand I what did was wrong, but I didn’t know I was doing anything wrong, I’ve been with you for so long and it’s only been more recent that I started to obtain these lists, but your customer service is shocking, you just shut me down over night at one of the busiest times of the year with no contact or even an attempt for me to explain, if I was doing something wrong I could have removed the data and contacted them in a different way, they actually all get a phone call as well. But your cut throat reaction instead was just to shut me down. Have you owners over the years not changed the way they work and brought in new things I know they have. Unfortunately now I just look at Mailetlite as sharks with no empathy, I hope your owners enjoy there millions as one day a company with treat mailerlite the way you treat your customers, and pul the plug on you and then tell you there is no refund and I hope I’m around to see it and laugh at them purely because the way you treat your customers - it’s shocking, the way forward is to discuss situations and correct them but why should I care it’s you that’s losing business and money in the long term.

Terrible email provider

I was locked out of my account due to their internal server error (server 500). My clients lost customers and we were forced to migrate at a critical deadline. Their service was incompetent and slow, taking days, and we still don't have client access to emails and lists.

I was a long-time user and had intermittent issues, but this server problem was catastrophic and ended my relationship with Mailerlite.

It took 5 days for MailerLite to identify the problem and fix it because they email only once per day. In fact, they responded to this review faster than they fixed the error that locked me out of my account.

Ik ben ontzettend teleurgesteld in de klantenservice. Ik ben maar liefst €1250 kwijtgeraakt doordat ik niet goed ben geholpen. Daarnaast begrijp ik niets van de manier waarop ze zaken regelen met betrekking tot het verzenden van nieuwsbrieven. Het ergste is nog dat er niet eens naar me werd geluisterd toen ik mijn probleem probeerde uit te leggen. Dit voelt als pure discriminatie. Ik zou dit bedrijf absoluut aan niemand aanraden. Schandalige service!

I paid for MailerLite’s email marketing…

I paid for MailerLite’s email marketing service, completed all verifications, and sent one single bulk email campaign. Immediately after that, my account was disabled without warning.

No clear violation was explained. No real support was provided. No chance was given to fix anything. They simply took the money and cut access to the service.

This behavior is unacceptable and honestly feels like a scam. Suspending paid customer accounts instantly, without transparency or due process, shows a complete lack of professionalism and trustworthiness.

If your business depends on email communication, do not rely on MailerLite. They can shut you down at any moment, keep your payment, and provide nothing but vague automated responses.

Extremely disappointing experience. I strongly advise others to stay away.

We moved to MailerLite hoping to save…

We moved to MailerLite hoping to save time with our Shopify email workflows, but unfortunately it ended up slowing our team down.

The main issue is the Shopify integration, which is one-way only. Unsubscribes in MailerLite are not reflected back in Shopify, leading to inconsistent and confusing subscriber data. This limitation isn’t clearly communicated upfront. Support later relied on wording in the documentation that data syncs into MailerLite but not back to Shopify, which feels like a semantic technicality rather than a clear disclosure of a major functional limitation.

Subscriber classification is also misleading. Users who unsubscribed from marketing in Shopify are labeled as “not accepting marketing” in MailerLite but still counted as active subscribers, which increases subscription costs despite those users not being marketable.

Support was polite and responsive, but our refund request was declined because the plan had already been used, even though these issues only became apparent through real usage.

MailerLite may work for simpler setups, but if you rely on accurate Shopify syncing and efficient workflows, it may not be the right fit.
