excerpts from the picatrix

“saturn is cold and dry, an unfortunate planet, damaging, author of bad and foul odors, proud and treacherous—when he promises anything, he brings about treachery.”
“truthful words, hope, blackness, old age, buildings, fear, great contemplation, worry, fits of anger, treachery, pain, difficulty, death, inheritances, orphans, ancient places, estimates, keen elocution, the knowledge of secrets, and the secret and profound perceptions of science: he signifies all these things as long as he is direct in his motion. while retrograde, he signifies unfortunate things, weakness or illness, prisons, and a long-lasting evil in all things. if he were in the aspect of any other planet, he weakens and damages it in its qualities. if he were retrograde and you were about to seek something from him, the thing sought will be fulfilled through trouble, misery, and great toil. if he were retrograde in any of his own dignities, his curses are augmented and grow; but if he has potency or dignity on the ascendant, then he will be more harmonious and kindly disposed.”

etheribot asked

hiii! here's an ask to try and beat the AI! since we're at the start of the new year i'm curious, is there any astrological event happening this year that you're particularly excited about?

both saturn and neptune enter aries in the next few weeks which i’m hoping will light a fire under my ass to be more dedicated to exploring my spirituality and intuitive abilities.

the upcoming new moon in capricorn is going to be really good for me to celebrate my own “new year” since my birthday is this month, albeit the new moon happens 10 days after my birthday.

later on in the year there’s a full moon in scorpio which i think could be interesting.

plus the uranus-neptune-pluto minor grand trine is active from march through september - i loooove me some outer planets!!

thank you marie! ♡

⋆。°✩ saturn, help me navigate the limits and boundaries of life in a way that is always beneficial to me ⋆。°✩

i tend to embrace the vices of the planets i worship and something about that is just beautiful to me.

saturn’s vengeance and neptune’s illusions - absolutely profound.

new moon in sagittarius 🌑 ♐️

image

✦ the final new moon of the year is upon us, occurring on december 19th in the sign of sagittarius.

✦ new moons are perfect for introspection, reflection, cleansing, preparing, and setting intentions for the lunar month ahead.

✦ prepare to set intentions that you’re ready to dive into headfirst once the moon is waxing, as sagittarius is a fire sign with an appetite for adventure and spontaneity. jupiter, ruler of sagittarius, governs things like wisdom and higher thinking, religion and humility, expansion and gain.

✦ use this fiery energy to plant seeds and manifest intentions related to that which jupiter governs, if you want. :)

that’s all! good luck!

apiswitchcraft asked

hello!! how are you? youre one of my fave mooties and i always love to see what you post (even if i don't always understand it)

do you have any good sources on learning astrology/how to incorporate astronomy into my craft? i know the basic zodiac signs but youre definitely on some more advanced shit that i don't know much about

:3c

omgsh hello friend!!!!

i’m the queen of bouncing between sources to gather info and i think i might be the only person on the planet who reads the picatrix and the three books of occult philosophy just for funsies so i wouldn’t put that on anyone 😂

i have to admit i only just started learning about natal astrology because i’ve been so focused on electional astrology - it all goes sooooo much deeper than i ever realized and i feel like i’m cracking open an encyclopedia of my soul every time i look at my chart LMAO. that being said, i don’t have a good source for learning astrology at this very moment in time. :(

the astronomy stuff as i’ve written about it is all UPG but still heavily rooted in science. i would love to tell you to just like, go grab a telescope and start looking, but that’s just not feasible, so i decided i would just research the fuck out of space for fun - one of the ways i have thrown astronomy into my practice was by looking at the elemental and chemical composition of the planets and then making correspondences from that. like, we know that sulfur can be a noxious gas and that it makes up a large part of venus’ atmosphere, which leads me to believe that venus is capable of being suffocating to those they are close with. we also know venus is WARM, further giving way to the association with gentle love, passion, and sensuality.

same thing with saturn - he may not be the god of storms but he sure does have hella hurricanes allllllll over the place, not to mention that hexagonal vortex. so i think saturn could be associated with severe storms and hurricanes, just like other planets with severe weather (jupiter - storms, thunder; uranus - sky god; neptune - god of the sea, storms, hurricanes, rain), etc.

the moon is my patron saint of rabbits because of the myth about the moon rabbit based on the physical appearance of craters from earth.

i have a whole intergalactic series about galaxies and cosmic voids, researched and written in the same format as above.

so, physical characteristics and chemical/elemental composition play a large part in my associations for celestial bodies from a scientific point of view. i didn’t want my correspondences to just be UPG - i wanted accuracy and for it all to actually make practical sense.

i think i just rambled for way too long. but that’s just a little insight on how i came up with that stuff. i hope it was somewhat helpful! i love talking about it though so lemme know if you have anymore questions. :D

the zorya/zora have always fascinated me and i am trying to figure out a way to incorporate her/them into my practice.

i literally almost changed my chosen name to zora but it felt too close to tloz lolol.

maybe i’ll tack it on, who knows.

stellar death 🌌

image

the death of a star is an interesting process that takes billions of years, but is a great comparative representation of the death of living beings.

i personally believe that death is a mere transfer of energy - our physical bodies perish, while the energy of what we once were is transferred to another plane of existence to form what some people refer to as spirits.

like the death of a supergiant star, we go through an energetic transformation (the formation of a supernova) and end up as an invisible, but very present, state of being (black hole).

aside from physical death, death can also be viewed in a symbolic manner - you can break bad habits, discover a new way of life, take on a new career path, or undergo a fundamental personal transformation that can be viewed as the symbolic process of death and rebirth.

the correspondences associated with this process are as follows:

  • the collapse of a star - death
  • planetary nebula or supernova - transformation
  • neutron star or black hole - rebirth or energetic transfer
