After being scamed by Starcici.

After being scammed by Starcici I was still looking for a good hand made knitted sweater. I found it on ETSY. An amazing woman, Anna Linitska, I ordered a hooded knit cardigan sweater and she is from Ukraine. She is honest and easy to communicate with and she hand knitted this sweater and when I received it, I was amazed, the quality, the soft plushness. I was so satisfied that I have another one on order as I'm righting this review. This woman is very skilled in knitting and you will be more than satisfied.

No customer support

Dear @etsy team,

I have already contacted your support multiple times over the last week, but I'm not receiving any response.

My Etsy Shop is stuck in holiday mode with the following message:

"We put your shop on pause. Your shop has been placed in temporary Holiday Mode to help you manage your current orders or give you time to verify your seller or business info. While you can’t receive new orders right now, you can still edit listings or draft new ones."

I have no orders in pending and my shop was on track for star seller last month, and have just invested into social media advertising and relisting & listing new items...

I have not received any other message from you.

I've been on Etsy for about 5 years and my shop is in excellent standing. They haven't given me any explanation why they put my shop into holiday mode, and you’re not answering any messages...

I have been contacting you for over 10 days now – daily, no response. While you mention it takes 1-2 days to respond, all you do is close the support cases and remain silent.

What kind of treatment is this?

It’s really quite disrespectful to completely ghost me when you and your community have massively benefited from my success over the last 5 years – all the fees I pay for listings, sales and promotions keep your staff employed and your website running; not to mention my overall review score being 4.8/5.0 further enhancing your site’s success and trustworthiness.

Would you please turn this mode off again as a matter of urgency?

My shop is: Maya‘s Curiosities

Thank you

After 8 years of being part of Etsy's success, they closed my store because they stopped dealing with PayPal. Even though I had a verified Payoneer account, which is available on Etsy for sellers, the

Since 2017, I have run a small Etsy shop from Jordan, completing over 5,900 orders and fully complying with Etsy’s rules.
I was notified that (my Etsy shop will be forcibly closed on 5 August 2025 ), due to Etsy’s decision to remove PayPal as a payment option and the absence of Etsy Payments in Jordan - leaving me no means to receive payments.
.
I proposed multiple reasonable and lawful solutions to Etsy, including :
* Using my verified Payoneer account, which works legally and officially in Jordan.(which is permitted for sellers in other countries).
* Transferring my shop location or shop management to a US based trusted individual.
* Establishing a US based company to legally shift my store operations.
Unfortunately, Etsy rejected every solution without offering any alternative. They did not give me a path forward, nor did they demonstrate any consideration for loyal sellers who helped build their platform,
They refused to allow PayPal to continue until a proper solution could be found.
Etsy allow sellers from many countries around the world to receive payments from Payoneer, Although I have a verified Payoneer account, but they do not want to add the Payoneer service to me.
It is deeply unjust for Etsy to succeed with our efforts for years, and now abandon us without support. They are turning their back on sellers who helped build this platform, not because we did anything wrong, but simply because of where we live.
We sellers are families, workers, human beings, not numbers. And I believe this injustice should be addressed at the highest level.
.
I hope that in the future, the competent legal authority will hold them accountable and stop them from this injustice to simple sellers.

Do not EVER open a shop on this site

Do not EVER open a shop on this site. You will waste your time setting it up, then you will be charged a fee for posting products and at the end, your shop will be suspended for no reason after a few days. After my appeal, I got this generic response:

"While considering your explanation and the details provided in your appeal, we found risk concerns in your account, which violates our Terms of Use. To protect the security of our marketplace, we are unable to disclose the specific activity indicators we detected."

I wish I had seen all these reviews earlier. I would have saved myself a lot of time. Disgusting scammers.

Just on a side note, I have a very interesting (however crazy-sounding) theory. After opening my shop, very quickly I got several phishing messages via Etsy. I am not stupid, so I marked them all as spam. Perhaps it's Etsy's own doing and when they notice someone isn't "scammable" - they block them for good? Either way, to hell with Etsy. I hope you go down eventually.

Abysmal service

They deploy an algorithm that makes no sense. They suspend your account with no reason given.
What little information you do get from their automatic emails is wrong or contradictory.
Going through their FAQ to find a solution is like going on a wild-goose chase.
Such terrible service, why should I waste my time to spend money with them. Going elsewhere.

My etsy shop is not indexed

My etsy shop is not indexed, I red in the etsy forums that this sometimes happens and the support needs to be contacted to fix this.

So I sent an email asking to be fixed this issue as neither my shop nor the items are visible in the search but I am charged for them every month ( I of course stopped the items for sell to void the fees until etsy resolves my problem - to index the shop). I got just one email ( on the next day) that was not helpful and since than I wrote 3 emails within 8 days, same ticket and no answer, no reaction followed.. And my shop continues not beeing visible

Stay well away from especially if you…

Stay well away from especially if you are a seller. Etsy like to take a listing fee, then suspend your account without communication, then after around two weeks they will close your account leaving you out of pocket without communication.

Do yourself a favour find yourself a real selling platform look at the products on offer print on demand Canva designs made in China rubbish. And you can list the same stuff until Etsy randomly closes your account without explanation and advises they will not respond to your communication, just look at the Trustpilot rating.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience while trying to open a shop. The get all your data, they make you upload all your crafts, then they ask you for a bank account, later a credit card (which they already charge you a tinny bit), and at the last step on the Funnel they just Freeze and later disable the account.

Not helpful for buyers when there are problems with the seller

As of today I am yet to receive good news from the Etsy team.

I ordered an item from a seller at the start of June. The item never arrived, the seller suggested he would send me a replacement and insisted on covering the tracking number costs. We had to double check with him as he did not let us know he had sent the replacement. Turned out his orders " mixed up" and he sent the replacement with no tracking number. Said replacement never arrived and again, he offered to send another replacement. This time I insisted on paying for the tracking, to which he agreed and next message said that there is no need to get a new item replacement as the second item is in customs. He promised to check with the post which number they use to track the package but never got back to me. I had to ask two times, instead of an answer he stated a replacement is on the way and that there is no tracking number as I did not wish to pay for one.

At that point I contacted him and asked for my money back, to which he refused and stopped answering me. I also had numerous chats with etsy agents who said they can't help me further as the 180-day window for filling a report in order to get my money back has passed. With this said, they do have access to my chats with the seller and are aware that the seller has purposefully stating over and over again that an item is on the way, most likely so that I don't open a dispute. If they really sent something my way is questionable as there is no tracking.

According to the Etsy agents, they have sent two alerts to the seller that I need assistance with my order, however he did not get back to me.

At that point they are aware that the seller is not responding to my questions, that he lied for providing me with a tracking number, that I did not ask for a second replacement item and that I still wait for the number the post used to track my package (questionable if it really exists) and all I get from them are copy-paste answers about how sorry they are for my experience, they are looking into the seller, they can't disclosure any information and the statement that they can't help me out-I need to sort this out with the seller. How to sort things out with him if he is not answering?? All I asked for is for him to check with the post, especially when it is his fault that the item has no tracking number.

Etsy stole over £200 from me

Set up a shop. Filled it items. Made 10 sells in 2 months. Etsy emails me and says that a lot of sales for a new person. We’re going to hold 75% of each sale for 45 days because we think you might be a scammer. They now have over £200 in my sales fees and refunds due because they kept charging me for a pattern subscription that I asked them to cancel months ago. For over two months now I have been asking them to give me m money and then delete my account. I have literally sent over 50 emails to support @ etsy dot com one person said I’m sorry to hear about this let me see what I can do and I’ll get back to you. I never heard from him again. They have no way to call them. They absolutely refuse to respond to emails. I’m completely stuck. They will not give me my money. So not trust this company. They appear all wholesome but they are just another rich company trying to become even richer and they will literally steal your income and shove it into their pockets while acting like you don’t exist. I had no customer complaints. All 5 star reviews. And a few repeat buyers.
