the most stupid people to deal with
Possibly the most stupid people I’ve ever spoken to. I shipped my German Motorhome to the USA and the heater stopped rifling throwing up codes. I called Truma N America and travelled from Baltimore to Florida 1,500 miles near Lakeland called expecting them to say go see them. I was told only “Indiana had the tools and knowledge, 3,000 miles away with snow! In Texas I found a woman whose RV repairer repaired her Truma, American van with same unit as mine and ordered a circuit board which came from Great Britain. It’s winter I’m frozen and I should gage been given a reputable repairer. I called this ladies RV repairer who confirmed Truma were indeed difficult if not stupid to deal with. I will see him in a few werksssbc pray he can help me as I am here for another ten months, tonight it’s -7c and no heater no hot water throwing up same codes is like car camping but in a 90,000e van. I’m furious. How can a company be so stupid arrogant and words fail me because this product can clearly be repaired here, their score and peoples’ experiences reflect their incompetence clearly

Combi 6 D E heater in camper van failed…
Combi 6 D E heater in camper van failed after 2.5 years, in fact probably much earlier but it only became noticable during winter season when preglow of combustion element is required. Cost of replacing entire combusion chamber around €1300 incl. labour. Truma were not willing to make any contribution towards this cost, even though it is clearly a quality defect given that the heater only had around 35 operating hours. Conclusion: overpriced and unreliable products, terrible customer service
Truma Saphir Compact Not suitable for boats
Was looking at maybe using one of their under counter ac units to help with cooling inside the cabin of a small boat, which is essentially like a caravan, its a dry environment and has as much moisture as a mobile home or van. Looked at asking some questions of if they would like to work with me on an installation, as this could benefit the boating community as a whole. I was told that their units are not approved for boat so would have no warranty and that it would need to have a hole to the outside to draw and exhaust air.
this would be no different to many diesel heaters fitted to boat and boats do often have many more hole cut into them for venting than people think.
I'm guessing they were not interested in getting involved so made some generic excuses, I only asked them as they were UK based with quite a wide installer network and after reading some of their reviews, thought they might be interested in branching out as there seem to be quite a few poor reviews.
I guess its not to be the case so I will now look to use a non native supplier to work with instead. I just thought it might be nice to keep the business local to home and help out a UK business but I guess we still cant think outside the box enough which is a shame.
I wish them well either way, just thought i would give an honest review of the service even before a purchase.
Truma is absolute garbage!!
I am not going to list the many infuriating issues encountered with the Truma Combi boiler 6e with iNetX that I purchased and installed in my motorhome, as this could potentially aid truma in rectifying there many mistakes.
I am simply that annoyed after spending £2500 for my entire system that all I will say is NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS LOW-GRADE, SECOND RATE, UNACCEPTABLE JUNK DEALER!!
Truma never answer the phone or respond to emails
First supplied Truma Combi 6D didn't work. The replacement boiler is now 18 months old and has developed a sensor fault. I'm travelling in the van and now have no heating or hot water. Found a Truma service centre in Spain who have sent Truma the diagnostics to sort the repair under warranty. Truma don't answer the phone or respond to emails. Service centre says this is normal and Truma are impossible to reach. Original supplier have also tried to contact Truma with no success so far. Absolutely terrible service
Truma XT motor movers
In 2017 I bought a new caravan and had a Truma XT motor mover fitted. It was excellent until November 2024 when the near side motor would not retract from the tyre. I contacted Truma who told me I must contact one of their authorised dealers as they do not deal directly with the public. I asked Truma if they would supply the near side motor alone to their dealer. I was again told to contact a dealer. I contacted several who all told me they could only supply a complete system. My caravan mechanic, who attended a course at Truma HQ in fitting and servicing their movers, also contacted Truma and was told they would not supply him with any spares.
It appears to be Truma policy not to supply parts to repair their movers, only complete systems, even if that is not required.
Anyone having a moving system fitted to a new caravan, or having a system retro-fitted should consider the availability of spares when deciding which system to purchase. I will be removing my Truma XT system and fitting a system for which spares are readily available
Truma inet app

The Truma Aventa Comfort RV air…
The Truma Aventa Comfort RV air conditioning unit has a serious design flaw. The unit has an ABS cover/shroud which is 'fastened' to the polystyrene top section with 8 pieces of double-sided adhesive tape. There are NO mechanical fasteners used. In Australia the weather is very hot and the obvious result is that the adhesive coating of the double-sided tape 'bakes out' and the shroud then blows off. To make matters worse, the price of a replacement cover is almost the same price as a complete new replacement air conditioner unit. (In Australia, the price of a new Coolman unit is around $1,600, and the price of just the replacement cover, only, is $1,500)
Truma 3004 heater no warranty
We have a Truma 3004 heater that is 2 years and 5 months old. It broke down, and the dealer contacted Truma to get a replacement under warranty, which is for 5 years. However, after many emails and calls, they rejected it as a warranty claim, stating that "There has been a spider in the oven or bad gas has been used." We thought it was a joke; the spider excuse is completely ridiculous 😵💫 We have been using Danish CO gas, but we can't prove their claim in any way. So, we must conclude that there is no warranty on a Truma heater.
Very expensive spare parts in general
Very expensive spare parts in general. Now unable to get a replacement heater element which leaves the water heater useless.
Best customer service I’ve ever known
I have lived in my motorhome for 5 years and occasionally have issues with heating or my combi and call Truma for guidance. On each occasion I get put through to technicians in minutes (ie no robots/AI) who resolve anything I can throw at them. In this case, Gemma solving an anti freeze valve query on the combi. Remarkable customer service, the best I’ve ever known, especially in times when customer service is often very poor.
Need a technology degree just to work…
Need a technology degree just to work out how to activate the hot water, 20 mins of randomly selecting certain icons that look like they pertain to heating water finally managed to get a tepid heat but then have to refill the caravan water supply as its empty through testing settings
Great service from Truma UK
Purchased a roof mounted Airconditioning unit for our motorhome from one of their retailers who have it shipped directly from Truma UK, excellent service from Truma and it arrived a day before they said it would. Fitted and working brilliantly, well done for a great service!
Purchased a Truma 4e boiler from…
Purchased a Truma 4e boiler from Jacksons Leisure, but it failed as I left for 4 week european trip. Ladies at Truma Uk tried to solve the issues and despite trying - unsuccessfully - various Truma dealers around europe, eventually arrived back at Truma UK where the workshop repaired the boiler successfully and efficiently. European support is scant ! Thankfully it was still under warranty !!
Replacement of part with no receipt 5 stars.
My experience with the UK Truma department has been excellent. I had a Waterline caravan mains connection kit and it was making a high pitch noise. Even though I had the part and the receipt probably on the caravan in Cornwall. They sent the complete kit and not just the faulty valve. That’s brilliant customer service.
Useless
While your Truma boiler is working, they are really great. If it ever goes wrong while covered under warranty, pray to the boiler gods because Truma’s customer service is worse than useless!! If your boiler fails out of warranty, cut your losses and just buy something else.
Truma unhelpful!
So Truma no longer stock the ultraflow smartswitch yet cannot offer an alternative part?? Not good enough! We are on holiday without any water and no chance of fixing it!
Very good service
Very good service. shame its the same all over europe.
UK is also very good
highly recommended company would like to become a UK service agent and supplier
Truma 3000 system
Truma 3000 system - Works OK, although somewhat confusing. Cover for the fire would be better held on with string and ceiling wax. It's not obvious how to take it off, so when you do you inevitably bend something, and getting it back on is so frustrating I wanted to jump on it. Still not got it back on.
