I booked tyre fitting at the Wimbledon National Tyres / Halfords centre after the online booking system explicitly offered a drop-off service. I attended in good faith on that basis, only to be told on arrival that drop-off was not possible due to parking restrictions and that I would need to remain on site for several hours.

This restriction was not disclosed at the point of booking. Had it been made clear, I would have booked elsewhere.

I contacted customer services from the centre to try to resolve the issue. The call was extremely stressful, offered no resolution, and failed even to acknowledge that the booking had been made on a drop-off basis. As a result, a significant amount of my time was wasted and I was late for a subsequent appointment.

Senior management later admitted that the online system was incorrectly offering drop-off appointments for this site and confirmed this was a booking error. Despite acknowledging the error, the inconvenience caused, and the poor customer service handling, the company refused to offer any form of compensation, relying instead on internal policy and issuing a “full and final response”.

While the system issue may now be corrected for future customers, the complete lack of accountability or meaningful resolution means I have no confidence in using National Tyres / Halfords again.

Had a concern about a slow puncture and took the car into National Tyres at Blackburn without an appointment
Within an hour had a call to say they had checked the tyres and sorted the problem and even reset the tyre pressure warning on the vehicle

(Orpington sevenoaks way) The staff at this branch really do go above and beyond ,we bought a car six months ago the dealer gave us the wrong locking wheel nut ,and was booked in for two new front tyres today at the Orpington branch ,Dave and Leo did not give up until the task was complete ,nothing was to much trouble , absolutely sterling service 5* staff eat 5***** service big thankyou National tyres Orpington.

Ajaz turned up today as expected. He came to our home to replace a defective tyre. He was very friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to get the job done. Thankyou Ajaz.

All the guys are fab, including Andy & Scouse. Good banter as well as brilliant service. Fitted my car in as an emergency as front driver side tyre had gone flat. Also sorted out the car brakes as well. Quick, efficient and, of course, funny

Just had 4 new tyres fitted this week and what an upgrade since Halfords took over, the process was so easy and I was greeted as soon as I entered the office by a very polite member of staff who knew my name, an hour later I received a call to say my car was ready to collect and the same member of staff brought my car to me and shook my hand before I drove off, I would definitely use again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Top class! 😊

Booked a brake check at the Burton upon trent branch and a completely honest feedback on the brakes that they where still good for a few thousand miles and also spotted i had tyres fitted the wrong way so they fixed that issue without being asked

Went online and ordered 4 x Goodyear tyres , Paid on line as it gave me a 15% discount (£414.77) and booked in to fit today , (it seems i input the wrong size (205 should be 225) Dropped the car off but received a call 1 hour later saying they did not have the tyres and could not understand why it let me book the fitting, I asked what tyres they did have and happy to pay the price asked if i could still have the discount to be told no as its over the phone, so i said can i go online and was told yes but i would have to pay the full price again £537 and they would refund me my initial payment which would take 5 working days to go back into my account as they were not able to transfer the payment over ( this is 2026 not the stone age) so i said ok i will just have a refund , went to collect my car and asked for proof of the refund only to be told it wouldn't happen until the tyres had arrived ??? i asked when that would be and told in the afternoon , seems to me that they just did not want to action the refund today , they said i would receive confirmation by Email today mmmm lets see , Managed to call another company who had the tyres i want and did not want money up front only when the job was done (Mr Tyre) maybe today will teach me a lesson that the big companies don't give a toss about the customer

Very disappointed. I booked the appointment online and arrived on time, only to be told the tyre I ordered wasn’t in stock. A complete waste of time.

Always use this garage. They’re always incredibly helpful when just asking for a tyre check and have been having my car MOT’d here since 2012. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Staff are always great

What a mess of a company. Booked online to have 4 tyres fitted and given the free option of mobile fitting. Booked for the 3rd and backup date of the 4th Feb. Immediately had an email saying that was not possible and it had been changed to the 2nd, I changed my schedule around and let the booking continue. Come to the 2nd and the middle of the booking window, no show what so ever and I then get an email to say it was not possible to carry out the fitting and my appointment had been changed to the 10th of Feb. I then called the main call centre and they said 'would you like us to book you in at a centre tomorrow for fitting?' so I said yes ok. I then get an email confirming the booking and saying to call the centre in the morning to confirm the tyres had arrived, I thought I would call straight away as the number didn't look right... and I was correct. Main call centre number and when selecting to speak to the local branch it would now proceed to take you round in a never ending circle. I phoned back and cancelled the booking altogether and asked for a refund. Now they didn't email to confirm the cancellation. Next morning I phoned and was told I would received the email shortly. Then I got a phone call from the local fitting centre asking if I was still coming for my appointment, I said I cancelled and was expecting my refund, the guy was helpful and said no it's still showing as live his end and he would cancel it. I then made a formal complaint via email which got responded to straight away but since I sent a reply I have heard nothing at all. I would never bother with this company again

Staff are always polite and friendly. I took my car in for 4 new tyres. They suggested I wait in the cafe a few doors down which was excellent and they messaged me when they had done.
Have been back today because of a nail in my tyre, again excellent service.

Just a shame the building is so run down and the waiting area not nice.

Warrington branch fitted me in at the last minute for a tyre repair. Provided excellent customer service.

Took my car in to check cam belt.
Lovely experience, quick to check in.
After wards explained what my car needed.
I visited the newquay site and found it easy and left my car.
I was told it would take 30 mins.
I went for a walk till it was ready.
I would go again for anything for my car.

Always had great service from Carmarthen National tyres. Very honest. Car passed MOT again, without any made up problems. Can't speak for the rest, but Carmarthen are honest👍

Yesterday my partner and 12 year old daughter had picked a screw up in the rear tyre at Asda she rang me upset not knowing what do as the tyre was hissing air and the tyre pressure monitor was on red as we have always used national tyres for few years purchasing a number of new branded tyres I said drive straight there for her to be told sorry we are to busy so she had go back to Asda and ring the RAC as the car has no spare just the liquid to repair and she has no idear of how to do that you are discussing and we family and friends will never bring a car to you again and I'll make sure nobody I know does either having sent many people your way your a disgrace leaving and women in tears with my 12 year old daughter you could of at least put some air in for her to get Home

I ordered 2 autogreen tyres through mobile service as same price but day before informed stock issue so appointment cancelled and re unburden.
Then ordered same at bath lane Newcastle branch as they had stock, I arrived for appointment yesterday to be told I’d have to wait 2 hours before another job finished then my fitting would take further 45 minutes, this was an unacceptable delay as other committment shortly so made another appointment today with promise no delay !
Turned up but hadn’t started my job 20 minutes after appointment time, then told only had 1 tyre in stock not 2 😮😡
I was not happy this was my 3rd disappointment with national tyres, I said I would not come back a 3rd time and suggested they upgrade to tyres they did have in stock as an apology and inconvenience to me, eventually told they could not do that as other stock tyre’s were Avon and premium but they’d give me 10%discountwhich would still mean I’d pay an extra £120 per tyre extra to solve THEIR problem which I couldn’t afford anyway so I was sent packing with a promise my original payment would be returned to my bank, no extra for inconvenience or stress caused !!!
Needless to say I will never ever use National Tyres again 😡😡😡😡

First time using National Tyres and found them to be knowledgeable, thorough and honest - couldn't have asked for more. Good communication and explanation of work that did - and didn't - need doing. Good prices and they honoured the original quote when part costs came in higher. I'll use them again and would recommend Lee and his team to anyone who wants a great job done at a fair price.
