Royal Mail - An automated destruction service

My partner spent a long time creating a lovely photo frame of pictures for a friend suffering with memory loss along with other serious illnesses so she could have a reminder of her day out with her friends. The frame was carefull wrapped in bubble wrap and then inserted into a jiffy bag so being double protected. By the time it arrived the frames protective clear pastic was smashed. This is a horrendous example of what to expect from Royal Mail - if you want something broken or damaged then send it by Royal Mail!!

So 2nd day of waiting for a next day…

So 2nd day of waiting for a next day delivery and another day of not being delivered. 3 days to deliver a next day delivery is appauling. This company does not deserve its Royal title. It’s as Royal as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and just as pathetic.

Poor service

Royal Mail was scheduled to deliver my parcel on 28th January from Edinburgh. However, for reasons unknown to me, the parcel was returned to the National Return Centre on 29th January.

The sender subsequently contacted Royal Mail to arrange for the parcel to be returned, but to date, the parcel remains with them without any updates.

This has been extremely frustrating, and I must express my disappointment with the level of service.

i’m surprised reading these reviews because royal mail is nothing but PERFECT!

i’m surprised reading these reviews because all I’ve ever had is pleasant experiences with Royal Mail I use Vinted almost every day and I always go for Royal Mail option and they have never let me down in the past four years but there are always the quickest posting company and get to my house on time and the parcel is always placed in a appropriate safe spot. I never usually write reviews but I just wanted to take some time out of my day to say that I’m so happy with Royal Mail and they don’t deserve all these hate comments.

7 parcels LOST/STOLEN just from 1 day.

Posted 11 parcels, 4 have been delivered within 48hours and 7 are missing? No sign after it has been dropped of at the post office.
Contacted "customer service" twice, no interest, no investigation....Has not been even asked to provide a tracking number, only been told to wait 2 weeks and then submit a claim?
Could just pretend that they are looking into this issue... Not even bothered!

Significant Postage Delays

I’ve just had a very frustrating experience with Royal Mail.

This afternoon I received at least two weeks’ worth of post all at once, including time-sensitive items. One of the letters was a bank card that was due to arrive by 30 January, but it only turned up today (11 February) as part of this bulk delivery.

Because the card hadn’t arrived when expected, I had already called my bank earlier in the day to cancel it and order a replacement. It then showed up a few hours later, which could have been avoided if the post had been delivered on time.

I spoke to Royal Mail, and they confirmed that letters are not supposed to be held back and deliveries should be made six days a week. However, they couldn’t guarantee that I would receive any follow-up after logging the complaint.

This kind of delay with important post like bank cards is simply not acceptable and causes unnecessary stress and inconvenience.

The only redeeming factor is that, after an hour on hold, they did log my complaint on file and supposedly will pass it on to the sorting office - hence the 2 stars.

Expected to sit in all day like no one…

Expected to sit in all day like no one works. First expected between 10-2 then updated between 2-7. Then 'we attempted to deliver your parcel'... Where's your slip, wheres the attempt on my cameras, why not leave in my 'safe place'. Wouldn't use if I didn't have to, royally terrible. Side note 'live veiw' is meant to show where it is on a map not just clicking on it for it just to say 'your item is expected to arrive today'

Poor delivery

My parcel was dumped inside my back garden by the gate. No attempt to knock on the door (I’ve been in all day) and it’s raining so it’s soaked. The delivery photo was a picture zoomed in of just delivery label meaning they can lie about where they put it. I don’t understand why they can’t be bothered to knock on my door, very poor.

royal mail delivery times for businesses

so as a small business my parts are sent next day delivery, check email in the morning, get a delivery slot between 7 45 am and 12. 25 pm.
great so ring customer to arrange a time of 1 pm to go supply and fit new part.
its now 13 15 pm and am now phoning customer to apologize as not yet received part by stated time slot and still waiting for part.
i already know royal mails excuse will be time slots are not a given, so why give one and their tracking is completely pointless as it only tells you its out for delivery between the original stated time slot.
cant believe businesses still use them.
not the first time or second or third time this has happened, but never left a review in the past but feel i need to now
poor poor service
time is now 16 00 and still waiting....

Royal Mail's and Parcel Force's LAZY GOOD FOR NOTHING DELIVERY DRIVER/S.

I'm afraid I'm been caused endless stress, worry and far to much valuable time complaining to Amazon and yourselves, over the past year since moving here, because of your EXTREMELY POOR QUALITY DELIVERY DRIVER/S.

I'M COMPLETELY FED UP with your not fit for purpose delivery driver and service, where they keep leaving my parcels from Amazon and eBay, in our downstairs unlocked LOBBY to our small block of flats, where everyone comes through and any one visiting our building.

MANY parcels have been stolen thanks to your horrendously LAZY delivery driver !

He/she shouldn't be working for you or any courier service, including Parcel Force because it's very unclear, quite who has delivered sometimes.

He/she are NOT FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS TO HAND PARCELS TO US AT OUR FRONT DOOR or TO LEAVE THEM THERE, IF WE'RE VERY OCCASIONALLY OUT ! We're only on the 2nd floor !

We DON'T HAVE A SAFE PLACE which your delivery confirmation emails KEEP SAYING WE HAVE, AND WHERE YOUR GOOD FOR NOTHING DRIVER KEEPS LEAVING THEM ! IT'S A LOAD OF ABSOLUTE RUBBISH !

How can a block of flats have a SAFE PLACE ??? HE/SHE has even LEFT THEM OUTSIDE when the lobby entrance has been closed ! AND....A CARD HAS NEVER BEEN RECEIVED ! IT'S ENDLESS LIES and ATROCIOUS SERVICE !

They're also not following your instructions. They NEVER BUZZ OUR INTERCOM and HAVE NEVER RUNG OUR DOOR BELL or EVEN KNOCKED because they've never ventured further than our downstairs lobby/entrance into our building.

They need to be SACKED ASAP because I know I'm not the only person here, who's complained during the past year.

Amazon have been told not to send anything to me via yourselves, when it means this particular driver will let us all down, time and time and time again.

It's happened more than 15 times in the past year since moving here.

I'm currently TRYING to complain via the phone but have over a 40 minute wait apparently.....It took 39 minutes to be answered by a human being ! Here's my Case Reference #10206500.

Do you no longer deliver letters?

Do you no longer deliver letters? Absolutely appalling how little royal mail has bothered too even turn up too our area, once a fortnight if ya lucky. Letters turn up months late, people are missing hospital appointments and all sorts. Apparently you are prioritising parcels and regularly abandon this area in favour of bigger ones. Take the royal out of your name. Pointless at this point.

Shambles

Noticed a typo on the address of an order I'd placed so went to go about changing it. Tried online chat first which failed and is a robot. Tried to arrange the collect from post office option using their website but the nothing happens when you hit the confirm button. After Googling I managed to find a phone number to ring only to talk to a robot...

I did however manage to get it redirected to a post office... Although I have no confirmation of this.

At the end of the call I was asked to leave feedback and that I wouldn't have to talk to anyone... I decided to proceed with this... It then said putting you through to an agent and the wait time is 60 minutes? But it said I didn't have to speak to anyone it was just to leave feedback to a robot I presume.

Anyone... Shambles.

Royal mail, you need to do a lot better.

Fantastic Service would recommend!!

I have used Royal Mail to print label and pick up letter or parcel.. a few times since moving and its been fantastic. Always within time stated and bring label and delivery also on time. Love this service as post can be a little adhoc if using a postbox where I have moved to!
I will keep using this service!

Evidence of delivery (the parcel was not there) was a photo of a small bit of a parcel, with no name, address or surrounding

I ordered something online and it was meant to arrive the next day. I was out when Royal Mail was meant to deliver. When I returned nothing was there - no parcel, no slip. When I looked at the evidence of delivery it was a photo of a tiny bit of the parcel - the name and address was not visible and there was no visual of the surroundings so I could not see whether or not it had been delivered to my flat - which is at the top floor of a block and rarely visited, apart from by deliverers. I then had to wait 40 minutes to speak to someone who told me that it was likely that the deliverer had not been able to deliver and this was the photo was the result of a quick scan (ready for redelivery the next day). But I looked this morning and it is still showing as having been delivered. I am now having to spend another 40 minutes trying to reach someone.. I am wondering whether the 40 minutes is time it always takes to get through.
