I learned how to make chicken fried rice 2 days ago and I've been making nothing but it every day since and I really want to make a joke about getting drunk off mirin

ok

#MyMirin

it really needs vegetables but I don't have any. needs green onions or something

- minute rice (sorry)

- frozen chicken tenderloins(also sorry)

- 2 egg

- garlic powder

- soy sauce

- mirin

you want about 2 cups water 1 cup rice ratio. Ignore box instructions

first boil water with a bit of salt and teaspoon butter

when water boils add rice, stir, return to boil, cover and slow reduce heat to medium low (about 3/2 depending on stove) this part takes the longest

while waiting on rice grab frozen chicken put in pan with vegetable oil just enough to somewhat mostly coat the bottom but not too much. Sprinkle some salt over the chicken (this is really plain I'm sorry) Put a tablespoon of butter on top(also sorry) and cover pan with lid (hear me out)

U want that to cook on medium for awhile. Keep an eye on the rice but you'll be waiting for a wee bit. Don't uncover the rice. When u stop seeing bubbles and can clearly see the rice has reduced most water, u can turn the heat down to low

By that point, u can also flip the chicken over and take a knife and start cutting dashes into the chicken, don't be afraid to do a lot and all over. U can flip the chicken again and do the other side. U should still notice pink. This will help it cook safely the rest of the way and be just ready enough. pull the rice off heat entirely around this point when u cant see more water bubbling, don't remove lid

when chicken is no longer pink inside, keep pan, (it'll have some good oil to use in it) reduce heat to low, but remove chicken to cutting board and slice chicken up and separate from fat. Drizzle a little bit of soy on the chicken. U now want to get 2 Eggs in a bowl and mix them with a fork. A pinch of salt and pepper stirred in

im pirating this pasta recipe for you bc I think it's pretty good. very fresh and lemony taste and it also makes for a good cold salad the next day. the only problem is since you use a whole lemon you end up with large pieces of the fibrous parts of the lemon that don't cook down. but you can pick them out easily or just chew on them if you want

I’ve never made ice cream before, so I did you guys a favor and found this recipe elsewhere. This ice cream mixes the salty taste of sea salt with the sweet tastes of cream and sugar. Apparently, Kingdom Hearts II director Tetsuya Nomura had this ice cream on a trip to the Tokyo Disneyland Resort and liked it so much he decided to work with Disney to put it in the games. The characters of Kingdom Hearts II can often be seen eating and talking about this delicious salty-sweet dessert. Enjoy it with your best buddy at twilight.

Ingredients:

2 eggs

2 c. milk

1/3 cup sugar

1 t. vanilla

1 c. heavy whipping cream

sea salt to taste

blue food coloring (optional) ice pop molds (optional)

Directions: Separate the eggs into two good sized bowls and beat the egg whites until stiff. Mix the egg yolks and sugar until thick. Slowly bring milk to boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Pour hot milk into yolk/sugar mixture and mix well. Pour milk/yolk/sugar mixture back into pot and heat on medium until thicker to make a custard. Do not boil. Pour custard in with beaten egg whites and mix well. Add sea salt (keeping adding salt until it tastes salty sweet). Put mixture in fridge to cool. Once cool, add cream, vanilla and coloring to mixture. Freeze, following your ice cream maker’s instructions. If you wish, get some ice pop molds. Spray the inside of these with very little PAM spray (or something similar). Then pour the ice cream into the molds right after it comes out of the ice cream maker. Pop the lid on and the stick in and freeze for at least two hours.

hey so if you're not rinsing your rice at least 30 times and soaking it over night you have more to worry about than bugs or dirt in your rice especially if it's brown rice, since every single rice produced in the us has near dangerous levels of arsenic in it and i am just learning this right now, is often shrugged off as food poisoning when it sickens children who are at higher risk, and leads to very severe health problems in chronic and long term

please be careful because i am just learning this today and it should be more known. i hate that these articles make this sound like fun tips and tricks to eat healthy and not how absolutely horrid this is. food is already over mass produced, it's time to start finding and supporting farmers who harvest solely by hand and not factory machinery, or find folks around you willing to learn and grow your own.

more resources:

Support pesticide free indigenous american rice, which may have lower levels of arsenic than major store bought (i say lower because i cannot find any sources of arsenic in their rice.)
