And to anyone who’s new to this post, I do regularly update it when I find more, and I have a date up top to tell you when I last updated it.
My ultimate goal is to eventually make this post a Color of the Sky post by itself, and I think I’m succeeding.

I've been trying to find time to write this post for the last three days because I want to use my platform, limited as it is, and have not had time. Even while typing this up, reports are emerging that someone else was shot by ice agents tonight (Wednesday, Jan. 14), so I am trying to keep this as detailed but brief as possible. I mean this with absolutely no exaggeration: the Twin Cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul, are currently under occupation by federal agents.
Deployment of mass military/paramilitary forces to "blue" cities is not new of course (DC, LA, Chicago), but the Twin Cities are a much smaller metro area and have a lot more agents deployed relative to our population size. Mutual aid groups are scrambling because so many people of color are very understandably terrified of leaving home and being snatched off the sidewalks or the bus stop or at school dropoffs. Minneapolis Public Schools is allowing distance learning until mid-February.
I can't stress enough how many other abductions and atrocities I am missing from the following list because it has been nonstop, but a few highlights of the regime's blatant human rights abuses and atrocities are as followed:
again this is just the tip of the iceberg and some incidents that have been spread around more widely. ice agents are going door to door with weapons, they are following people who are organizing aid distribution, they are targeting businesses that have stepped up to help the community. protesters showing up at the whipple building where ice is detaining people know that it is extremely likely they'll be detained or have chemical munitions deployed against them just for gathering outside the building.
pay attention to what's happening in Minnesota, start organizing in your community, and please for the love of god do not give one more ounce of attention to that motherfucker jacob frey as he goes on his podcast tour while allowing MPD to arrest protesters and aid & abet ice operations. pay attention to news and reports from: Georgia Fort, On Site Public Media and Toussaint Morrison, Sahan Journal, social accounts of Minneapolis Council member Jason Chavez, Unicorn Riot, and MN ICE Watch.

Okay so first off, it’s not entirely clear on how people is Scarlet Nexus would see queer people so here’s my headcanons and logic behind them
So the country was founded by Karen Travers posing as Yakamo Sumeragi, and I headcanon him as being at least in love with Fubuki and Alice, and having been right on the verge of entering a polyamorous relationship with them before Alice got metamorphosed. So my base instinct to say that the country is very accepting of queer people because it was founded by Karen
But the basis of the country’s structure is their military of child soldiers, so I would imagine they want people to have as many children as possible so that they have more options for the military, and I could see the government discouraging same-sex relationships.
So the middle ground I’ve decided on is that being gay is fine and accepted, but you have to pay an extra tax if you’re in a gay marriage. That way they preserve “Yakamo’s” beliefs while also promoting having more children. Also richer families who care a lot about legacies and bloodlines don’t usually approve of their descendants being in gay relationships.
I don’t think Karen really cares about trans people enough to give them that same effort into protecting them but I don’t think the government cares enough to make it illegal or taxable. So being trans is legal but some people are weird about it so a lot of trans people stay in the closet about it. Similar to our world but not nearly as extreme.
Yuito:
Genuine late-bloomer. Isn’t thinking at all about relationships at the moment. Thinks he’s still too young to have feels like that yet without realizing that most people his age have already started to figure out what they like and even potentially acting on it. Once the hormones finally hit, he’ll be Pan.
Kanane:
Very Demi. Only likes someone after knowing them for long enough that she can fully trust them and be herself around them. I haven’t decided if I think she’s attracted to men or not, but I definitely think she’d like women. So either Demi-Bi or Demi-Lesbian
Wataru and Haruka:
Bi and Trans. Their character bios say that they’re often mistaken as the other gender and I have taken that to mean they’re trans. They partially transitioned before they joined the OSF, but they aren’t able to take testosterone or estrogen while they’re taking anti-aging drugs, so they’ve had to stop for now. They’re also bi because I say so.
Their bio also says that they’re identical twins rather than fraternal twins, which could just be a translation error but it does imply that one of them is canonically trans. But since it’s the future, they maybe have new weird medical things that can happen, so my headcanon is they started in the womb as the same gender, but one of them had something weird happen that changed their gender part-way through, and no one knows which twin it was.
So when they each realized they were trans, they assumed it was them and that’s why they were trans. Then they found out the other twin was also trans, they were like “hang on a minute.” Their current theory is that their mom’s body somehow knew one of them was going to be the wrong gender and tried to fix it, but got the wrong twin so they both got the wrong gender.
Hanabi:
Bi but with a preference towards guys. Not much more to say about her
Kagero:
Bi but the moon was much harsher against queer people so he’s still overcoming some internalized homophobia, and still outwardly says he’s straight
Tsugumi:
Baby lesbian. She knows she likes girls but isn’t confident enough to pursue anyone yet. Wouldn’t be able to figure out if someone was flirting with her, she struggles to figure out feelings of friendship, feelings of romance are even harder for her. She and Hanabi once had an entire conversation about Yuito where Hanabi thought Tsugumi liked Yuito and Tsugumi thought Hanabi just wanted to be better friends with Yuito, before they realized that they were both totally off the mark.
Kyoka:
Lesbian. Dated men as part of her cover but felt nothing for any of them. Developed a crush on Wakana while spying on her.
Shiden:
Bi and baby Enby. He knew he was bi, but didn’t realize you could change your gender until Wataru and Haruka came out to the group. “Wow I didn’t know you could change your gender! Too bad you can’t have no gender, or something in between though.” “Uh, Shiden? You can do that too.” “REALLY?!” Right now he’s using he/they pronouns but there’s a good chance that somewhere down the line he’ll change them again
Luka:
Gay. Right now he’s too young physically to really feel attraction, but someday he’ll realize that his obsession with buff men isn’t just jealousy
Arashi:
Aroace. Doesn’t have any interest in any of it. Even when she’s older, that won’t change
Gemma:
Straight cis man, but a cool guy. Fully supports the rest of his team even if he’s a little behind on the terminology. Has definitely had sex with a couple of guys just to make sure and come to the conclusion that he’s definitely straight.
Nagi:
Straight but supportive. Has flirted with multiple lesbians and when he found out, he was like “okay cool, I’ll stop flirting, but we can still keep talking” and he just makes friends with the lesbians Steve Harrington style.
Naomi:
Straight. Not very knowledgeable about queer people because her parents have sheltered her, and want her to continue the family. When she learns about queer people, she’s completely supportive, and when she learns Kasane is queer she becomes the ultimate ally.
Seto:
This man is the ultimate example of “keep your work life and your private life separate.” Is he queer? You’ll never find out because that’s Private Life information and is not to be shared with a Work Life associate. Shiden doesn’t know. Wataru doesn’t know. Fubuki doesn’t know. There is not a single person in the OSF who knows what his sexuality is and he will keep it that way.
Fubuki:
Bi and Demi. Loved both Alice and Karen and when he found out Alice also loved Karen, they planned to invite him into their relationship. This did not work out. With Alice gone, he still loved Karen but Karen became more distant, and Fubuki didn’t want to burden him further. He has never loved anyone except those two.

I think Legend and Wild would bond over their fear of forgetting the adventure when it ends and everyone goes home. Legend with the fear that he’ll wake up one day and find that with none of them physically there to remind him of the journey it may well not have happened at all. Wild with the fear that he could wake up one day and have nothing but fragments of memory as the rest slips just out of his reach.
If they find out about it, about the other, that need to help will cut in
they'll offer to do something for the other, make something, a gift, a memory, something tangible that can act as proof, as an anchor for the memory, and if there's fear that that one thing will be lost (because the Fates aren't always kind) then it becomes multiple thigs
Legend can't take pictographs of everything for Wild, he doesn't have a camera, but he does draw, and he's good at it, so maybe now Wild has dozens of sketches, of Wolfie sleeping, or Wars and Sky sparring, of Twilight and Time leant oer the fence at Lon Lon, unawares that legend had been sitting in the grass the whole while they talked, trying to capture them as Wild would want to remember them, in moments he wants the champion to be able to keep if he can't keep all of them
And Wild struggles at first because while pictures = memories is a known thing for him, he doesn't know what could help Legend until he remember how many items Legend keeps, how many little Momentos. Simple ones some of them, some that are more trash than item (a piece broken off Maple's broom when fighting Onyx, a bit of horn from Ambi's head-dress, stuff like that) so he starts looking for Items when they do things. This rock is shaped like an ocarina, so Legend needs to have it, they'll paint it blue and everything so it looks like the one Time carries. Warriors' scarf gets torn in a battle so Wild goes back and scours the field for the scrap so Legend can keep it with his Important Things, it even smells a bit like the captain despite the dirt and blood on it. When Four helps Wolfie free himself from his chain, Wild stops him scrapping it and asks if Legend wants to keep it maybe?
It's weird stuff, little stuff, but it's tangible, something you can touch and feel and smell and which hasn't any business being the way that it is except because a hero made it that way, so of course, it's proof that it's all real, it will always be real.
Legend might lose an item, and maybe one of the drawings will get damaged, but there's dozens of other items, and there's drawings up in Wild's house, tucked between pages of his books, even some up at the lab now just in case.
(And maybe Wild asks if Legend might draw the champions too for him, and maybe Legend asks, quietly, shyly, if he might keep the purple hood Wild once found in his own adventures, the one with rabbit ears that still smells impossibly of chocolate and cloves)
My child, who spends their entire life being transfered from home to car to school and back, and is not allowed to leave the house or talk to anyone and can only in their wildest dreams imagine a life free from constant surveillance, is very sad. Obviously they're dumb and lazy, like all kids these days.
kind of a tangent but i recently went to a bowling alley with my friend i'm 19 he's 18 and the woman at the door didn't want to let us in because there was a sign saying under-18s needed adult supervision. everything got cleared up and we were able to go bowl, but i'm still so mad about the fact that kids need adult supervision to go to a bowling alley and arcade. like okay maybe young kids should have supervision but what do you mean middle and high schoolers need to hold mommy's hand while they play video games. kids aren't just addicted to their phones because phones are addicting, we're addicted to our phones because there's nothing else to fucking do
I'm sure banning kids from online spaces while simultaneously not ensuring that they have access to offline spaces to socialize in (without having to rely on their parents who already don't have time for them) will help them feel better & less alienated from society.
