We're genuinely so brave for the way we somehow manage to navigate cis society never knowing wtf is going on in their heads at any given time

A nonbinary person sits in front of the camera, looking at a comment. The comment reads, "Do you prefer m'theydy or gentlethem more? :)"

This is reacted to with about 5 seconds of silence followed by the person in the video saying "I think id rather you just call me a slur"

In 1967, a trans woman named Vicky shared her life with an interviewer. The UCLA Film and Television Archive preserved the full short film, Queens at Heart, in 2009.

(tumblr doesn't let add videos to reblogs, apparently)

decided to post the full video from this story, in case the twitter post gets deleted.

the caption reads: "The most beautiful scene today"

you can see (and hear) people crying in the crowd. such an emotional moment. 🥹🥹

This wonderful funeral director breaks down how those within the transgender community can protect their identities even in death! I know death isn't fun to think about but its inevitable and I highly recommend watching it if you or someone you know is transgender ❤

It's a captioned video!

Also, Ask A Mortician (aka Caitlin Doughty) has loads of other videos that you may find helpful!

She has three regarding covid-19, mostly talking about how everything people are saying about how the bodies are treated are normal in this kind of circumstance.

She also has videos describing many aspects of the funeral industry, and advocates for death acceptance and corpse rights (that is, the right of a person to be able to choose what is done with their body when they die).

She is a fantastic resource in so many ways, and I highly recommend her videos.

This is a channel that mostly talks about atheism/theism, but this coming out video is really, really good. So even though it’s not exclusive to trans people I wanted to share this here.

Don't know what you're opinion on contrapoints is, but she just did a really good video talking about men and the negative things cis men in particular experience due to strict gender roles, which seems on par with the discussion you're having right now

Her video on the way men are made vulnerable to radicalization and subjected to hideous levels of violence due to the expectations of manhood, and how feminists are rarely equipped to deal with men’s needs was really, really good.

Honestly, when it comes to meeting radical right wingers where they are, and giving them positive role models to learn from, Contra is exceptionally skilled. All the moreso since she seems not to have actually aimed for that.

She’s just very accessible. Her content is easy to understand, and while it completely disagrees with right wing and conservative beliefs, she never treats them as monstrous or worthy of mockery. Just as unfortunate problems that can be resolved.
