Review of Ford Fuels

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent and quick service.

Excellent and quick service from the time when my oil tank was discovered to be unsafe, till installation of new one yesterday. Engineer visited quickly to scope the work and advise, efficient office communication, and two lovely chaps - Simon and Jeremy -who installed tank and made sure all was working well. Good humoured and efficient despite the atrocious weather all day. I had obtained a quote from another supplier but did not feel confident in that company, but I felt confident in Ford and that confidence was not misplaced.

No sign of order done 30th November…

No sign of order done 30th November which had an estimated delivery date of 14th December, which seemed a long time but doable. Now 20th and it hasn't even been dispatched. No communication from seller. Refund requested. Won't use Etsy again. However the request for refund was executed instantly so that was good.

Excellent products and customer service

I have always used Surepet products and never had cause to complain. So i was surprised when my microchip cat flap started playing up after only 3 years (Previous one lasted over 10 years.) Really helpful Customer Service person Nabeel gave me lots of troubleshooting advice which I followed but after putting in yet more new batteries and a day of it working ok the same issue recurred. Sent photos as requested and they concluded that the electronics had failed which was draining each set of new batteries I put in. The few days of trying to fix the problem took me a tiny bit over the 3 year warranty period but nonetheless a new cat flap has been dispatched. I cannot express how impressed I have been by the quality of response and customer care received which has restored my faith in large businesses - I really did not expect such a positive outcome. Needless to say I will continue to use Surepet products as I always have, and will continue to recommend to friends and neighbours.

Antiquated and slow processes for…

Antiquated and slow processes for withdrawing money. I took out a VERY small S& Sh ISA last year with a joining bonus, which was the only reason for taking it out, and now the year is up I wish to withdraw and close account. First they made attempts to phone me which luckily i didn't answer, to discuss options, then an email telling me all about ISAs and options. I know all this and the only option i want is my money back, not to waste time talking to people on the phone. So then they want copies of my bank statement, since they obviousy did not get Nominated Bank Account details last year, which other financial instutions do, then when I sent it they wanted the top copy with my address on it. I always shred top copies to save storing loads of paper.....
So I sent the top page of another account I have so we'll see if that is good enough, If it is, it could be up to 10 days before I see my money. Unbelievable in these days of online banking and instant transfers. Thank goodness there is only a tiny amount invested and I do not need it in a hurry. No wonder peope are averse to investing and prefer to save in cash ISAs.
UPDATE: Have had to provide more info to Trustpilot to prove I am genuine! Have now anyway had confirmation that my money will be paid in 3-5 days. My dissatisfaction was purely to do with Systems; SF should have taken my bank details at the outset and then initiated the payment as soon as I requested it. I am sure they are a reputable company, but their systems are unwealdy and time-consuming for the customer.

Such a shame to revise my previously…

Such a shame to revise my previously good opinion of Wayfair. Ordered a garden parasol on Satuday, realised it was the wrong size so cancelled on Sunday. Got email Monday to say can't be cancelled as in progress. Estimated delivery today Tuesday. To return it incurs postage cost. Looking at my account just now I see the item has not even been been shipped and is awaiting collection by the courier. Managed to bypass the chatbot and speak to a real person but they said the item coldn't be retrieved and to contact them again when it has been delivered. I will do, but I do not expect to have to pay postage for an item that could easily have been cancelled before leaving the warehouse. Everything is very automated these days so it should have been the work of a few clicks of a mouse to prevent the item being given to the courier. I've previosuly had good service from this company so I wonder if anything has changed - change of ownership or something? I doubt I will buy from them again after this, unless I can return the item - whenever it appears- at no cost to me..
By the way, the email I had said orders cannot be cancelled if they are custom made or already shipped. My order is NOT custom made and has NOT shipped as it is still awaiting collection by the courier.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re truly sorry for the disappointment caused.

We completely understand your frustration, especially as you've previously had positive experiences with us. Our system allows for cancellations within 1 hour of placing an order. In your case, the cancellation request was made after this window, by which time the item had already entered the shipping process. Once shipping labels are created and the item is prepared for dispatc, especially when grouped with other orders on a pallet, it’s unfortunately no longer possible to retrieve the item manually.

While we do recognise the item hadn’t been physically collected by the courier yet, it was already staged for dispatch in our warehouse, which is why the cancellation could not be accepted.

We apologise for any confusion caused by our cancellation email. For transparency, here is an excerpt from our policy:

"What if my order cancellation is denied?"
If you wish to keep your item(s) there is no further action needed.
If you wish to return your unwanted item(s), you can do so once your items have been delivered to you. To set up a return, view your recent orders and select the item you want to send back to us. Please note a return fee will apply – see our Return Policy for more details.

Once your item has been delivered, please visit www.wayfair.co.uk/myaccount to initiate the return process.

We really do value your previous support and hope we can restore your confidence in us.

Wasps treated - hopefully for good?

GOOD POINTS: phoned yesterday on discovering a wasp nest in my shed and got the job done today, which was important to ensure my safety, having got some stings when disurbing it. Robin removed the nest and sprayed the shed and said if any wasp activty seen after 7 days an operative would return. Also said to avoid the area for 24-48 hours, which I certainly will!
NOT SO GOOD POINTS: The window for the visit is set between 8 a.m.and 19.00 which is too long, and it should be possible for the office to advise as to whether a.m.or p.m once they have sheduled the running order for visits, as I appreciate that they need to do a logical order for visits so they do a round trip rather than back and forth. But they should know this by the morning of the day of the visit. I also didn't get a text an hour before the visit to say on his way and eventually I rang the office to be sure I hadn't been forgotten, Waited in all day and the poor cat was shut in all day with a litter tray until 5.30, so not ideal.
However, IF the wasps have been erradicated, OR if not, the company returns for free after 7 days, then I am reasonably happy with the service.
Robin was friendly anyway, which is impressive when he'd had such a long day in this hot weather. I would have felt quite grumpy myself having to dress up in a spacesuit multiple times in a day and drive around the country, so fair play to him.

Review of Boots

Rubbish loyalty points system

Trying to spend my advantage points on a purchase, but it seems that if the purchase is over the amount that the points are worth you cannot use them, you have to buy an item up to the value of your points. This is stupid. Sainsbury's nectar points can be used on any purchase - so if you have a shop that costs £20 and you have £10 worth of points they can just deduct this from your bill. Why can't Boots do this? Instead we have to do the maths when shopping in Boots to make sure that an item is worth no more than the number of points and paying separately for anything over this amount. Truly bonkers. Superdrug is better and I will use them more than Boots in future.

Review of Virgin Money UK

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

2 hours wasted.

2 hours wasted. I accidentally transferred some money from my current account (with another bank) to my Virgin current account. OK, my silly mistake, but not a big deal I thought, I can just transfer it back. Oh no I couldn't. When I tried to tranfer it back from Virgin into the account I took it from, it would not let me do more than £500 per day. Did the live chat. No joy, I had to have the App. Long wait on the phone to customer services to see if they woud effect the transfer. Was told I could transfer up to £30,000 if I had the App. I do not want the App as I prefer to bank online on my laptop. OK, then apparently I can do telephone banking, but then another long rigmarole in setting this up and even after setting all the various codes I couldn't get into it. So I downloaded the App, did the transfer, then have removed the App. I have been with a number of banks over the years and NEVER have I been unable to transfer my OWN money to another of my OWN accounts on line. I will stay with Virgin pro tem as I have an ISA wth them and a regular saver both at decent interest rates, but when they come to an end I shall close my accounts. Not surprised there are so many one star reviews here.
Saw the reply from Virgin. I fail to see why an app is more secure than the website, seeing as you not only have to give username and password on the laptop but you then get a 4 digit pass code texted to you. This is an unsatisfactory response and does not explain the anomaly of why you can get 30K out on a phone (which could be stolen) and only £500 on a laptop. I will have to go through all this nonsense again when I withdraw matured savings, as I won't be leaving them with virgin unless they change their processes.

Hi there - thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

I'm sorry to hear your recent experience wasn't what you expected and you're now considering closing your accounts in the near future.

The safety of our customers is paramount which sometimes can lead to us putting a cap/restriction on the amount of funds a customer can transfer using a particular channel. We do this to protect our customer as opposed to hinder.

I apologise if this has not come across in that way and understand the frustartion this has evidentally caused.

We value each one of customers and would be sad to see you leave when those ISA's mature. I hope that when the time comes, you reconsider that decision and stay with us.

Excellent customer service

Further to my positive review of a couple of days ago regarding my receipt of two White Lorenzo chairs, I decided I wanted one more. As they are sold in pairs and I only wanted one, I contacted Furniturebox to ask if they had an odd one knocking about the warehouse. Very prompt response from Callan who sourced me a chair and it will be delivered tomorrow! This is a company I will definitely return to.

Good items reasonably priced

I am very happy with the two dining chairs that came today, only a few days after ordering. They were very well packaged and protected and easy to put together.
Price is very good, and cheaper than similar chairs i bought from another well-known retailer some years ago. I would have returned to this retailer but they have stopped making the chairs in the colour I wanted, so am glad I found Furniturebox.

Review of eConsult Health Limited

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent system

I am amazed at these negative reviews, and wonder if peoples' poor experiences are more to do with peoples' individual gp practices rather than the eConsult system itself?
i have used it 3 or 4 times now for non-urgent but nonetheless important reasons, and the triage system is effective and timely. Outcomes were: twice to have a face to face appointment, once on the day and once in 2 weeks time; once was a phone call with a gp which was followed by a face to face, and another outcome was a phone meds review with practice pharmacist, and each of these outcomes was entirely appropriate to my reason for doing the eConsult. Each time I got either a phone call, text or email response on the same afternoon of using eConsult. Not only did the eConsult save me waiting hours on the phone to speak to a receptionist, but if many of us are happy to use the eConsult, this keeps the lines freer for people who are not computer confident and means that they have shorter wait times on the phone while people like me are using the online system instead. I would imagine that this system is also great for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, or who have mental health issues which can be made worse by the long waits on the phone and consequential frustration. I know which I prefer!
Bradford-on-Avon Health Centre in Wiltshire doing a good job in implementing this system which complements the phone appointment system.

Review of B&Q

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Good customer service

Ordered a 4-6 mm over-the-bath shower screen seal from B&Q on line, via their "marketplace" thing, and the supplier was Select IP. I couldn't fit the seal although my screen was 4 mm. Contacted the seller who suggested soaking it in hot water, which I did. I was then able to partially slide it over the bottom of the screen but the glass still would not bed down into the slot as it is a very rigid material with no "give" even though soaked in very hot water. so it would not stay on. Contacted seller again. Next day B & Q emailed to say a refund had been issued and Select IP said not to bother to return the item. So 4 star for prompt customer service, but regarding the item, I would suggest buying a 6-8 mm size seal to ensure that it fits the glass screen even though you may have a 4-6 mm screen.

Review of Patio Black Spot Removal Co LTD

Fantastic stuff

Fantastic stuff. I can't believe how well it worked. Will need to re-do a couple of areas as I only bought 2 litres initially, thinking that if it wasn't any good I wouldn't have wasted too much money, since it is quite expensive. But absolutely worth buying - I'd forgotten what colour my Indian stone slabs used to be!!!! Will get a bigger bottle next time so I can touch up this time and then redo properly next year. My patio is about 10 sq metres, so the 2 litres would be fine for future annual treatments, but there are about 8 years of black spots to remove, hence the need to redo a few bits this time.
PS: NO scrubbing involved! Great for a female pensioner like me.

Review of Diamond Bedding

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Perfect

Perfect. Having had to return two Down and Feather pillows to another company this week as the filling on their label was different from that on the website which meant they were too firm, I decided to try Diamond Bedding for my Hungarian Goose down pillows. What a pleasant surprise to find that they were EXACTLY the quality and level of softness that I have bought from Nimbus previously (Nimbus sadly do not seem to exist any more...) and they lofted up almost immediately after unpacking. They are plump and well-filled with down but at the same time soft enough to sink into. Thank you Diamond Bedding. Would recommend.

Incorrect information and slow refund process.

Incorrect information.
Having bought a nice summer Goosedown duvet a couple of years ago from this company, and had been happy with it, I went to S & S for two Goose Down and Feather pillows. They were expensive - £85 each - but ones I have bought from other retailers in the past were about this price, (and if you could still get Nimbus goosedown pillows i would have returned to that supplier, but they seem not to exisit any more.)
I carefully read the technical information to make sure that the inner core contained a percentage of Down as well as feather as I like a soft pillow, and the info said 90% feather and 10% down for the inner core, which is what i usually buy. So when they arrived today I thought they felt firmer than i would knowingly buy, and when i looked at the lable on the pillows themselves it said 100% feather for the inner core, not 90% as advertised. The Down content of the outer shell was fine and as advertised. No problem with returning them as there is a print off label from Yodel you can use and a Yodel collection point a short drive from my home, but I just want S & S to be aware that what they put on their website needs to be the same as what is on the product to avoid people being misled.
UPDATED: Thank you Alicia. I already emailed S & S on 30th May with the info about my order but apart from replying to my request for info on returning the items no one respnded to my concerns that the website info on the pillows was incorrect. I have resent that email. No problem anyway as I have now got suitable ones from another supplier, though still awaiting refund, now 17th June, though you have confirmed that you received the parcel on 3rd June. Given how quickly you are abe to process payments - i.e. immediately,- I am not overjoyed at how long it takes to process refunds. Now 17th June and STILL no refund. It is now the 10 working days they said it would take.
FURTHER UPDATE:Am now told that after ten working days my refund will now be processed and it could take up to a FURTHER 3-5 working days after this. Completely unacceptable given that they receibed the return on 3rd June.
Have downgraded the star rating due to this.

Review of Autoaidbreakdown

Wouldn't cover me when stuck in mud.

A bit late for this, but decided to write a review on the basis of my experience 2 winters ago. I pulled into a layby to let a supermarket delivery truck go by on a narrow lane, only to find when they had passed that I was stuck in the mud. Autoaid said that recovery was not covered unless I paid £99 for a tow truck. I was disinclined to do this so declined and tried to phone a neighbour with a Land Rover, who was not at home. Meanwhile the supermarket truck returnend along the same road so i got him to pull me out of the mud! Was going to take this up with Autoaid but never got round to it, and as they were the cheapest on the market by miles I decided to stay with them. Now I see that there is a new kid on the block, Eversure, which is about £15 cheaper than my renewal for the same cover, so will give them a go and cancel my Autoaid renewal. It is also worth noting that I recommended Autoaid to my neighbour who just got cover for £5 cheaper, as a new customer, than my renewal. I thought this was not legal any more? So Autoaid, do you pull cars out of mud or snow, or not? And why does a new customer pay less than a loyal one?

Review of Currys

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Disgusting service.

Disgusting service.
Went into
Trowbridge Currys for an SD card for my phone so I could get the pictures off my phone, but also for advice as i am a not very technically savvy older person. I explained that i woud buy the recommended card if someone showed me how to use it. This was agreed so I duly paid 17.99 for the SD card and a helpful young man opened up the phone and prepared to insert the SD card, He had problems as it was a bit fiddly so he asked a women staff member to help him and she managed to do this, but refused to tell me how to copy the photos from my phone onto it. She said she didn't know how to do it and the other staff were busy and may not now either. When I persisted, saying that I had bought the SD card on the understanding that someone would show me what to do, she said you have to pay £25.00 for downloading. I said i didn't need them to download, just to tell me what to do, since there were no instructions on the package that had the SD card in it. Also, if no-one knows how to do it, how come suddenly they DO know if you pay them £25.00?
I asked to speak to a manager and she said she WAS the manager........Gawd 'elp us, if that's the best Currys can come up with to manage their stores then it doesn't say much for other staff. She should be re-trained or sacked for her attitude towards customer service. Also a very bad example to the other staff as if they realised that the more helpful you are to customers the more likely they are to return and possibly make very large purchases.
However, they may have gained £17.99 from me this week but they have lost any future sales of big items like cookers, washing achines etc etc as I will never buy anything from Currys again.
Oh, and when i got home i sorted my photos onto the SD card in 10 minutes flat with the aid of a Youtube video. Currys take note when you do the annual appraisal of the female manager at Trowbridge branch.
